  1. Cold front blew through last night. Only going to be 65 or so today. We might even see a cloud. G
  2. I had to dig deep and use the schwartz! G
  3. Nice thing about that Harry, if you don't like the weather now, just wait 2 hours. G
  4. It don't matter who you are, where you're from, boy, girl, or in between, once you take that oath you all bleed blue. That's why I like it, same as my beloved Marine Corps. Semper Fidelis. G
  5. Joe the pits looking good. It makes me think I wouldn't want to be squeezed in there for real. Fun to fly though. Here's some more progress. I built the turret interior as it needs to be finished before I button her up. No desert tank at rest kept the hatches closed for any period of time due to the heat. All the vision blocks were seperate pieces molded in clear plastic. I tinted them all with a mix of Tamiya Clear Green and Blue, mounted them and used liquid mask. Primer first then a coat of MM Acryl Panzer Buff. MM Acryl is a good paint but requires primer to adhere well. This is my testing of color mixes. I attempted to match RAL 7027 and RAL 8020 with MM Acryl. The swatches on the left above and between the "DT" and "NB" are my final mixes. G
  6. The concept of age is something I rarely think about. Every day above ground is a good one. Some of us began a discussion on police work the other day. It brought home the fact I have been "on the job" for 34 years. I have been working longer that the rest of my squad has been on this earth. The closest in age is my partner Louis. He was 2 months old when I was initially sworn in. The guys find it amusing that what they take for granted I have had to learn. All of them were born in the age of the internet, cell phones and digital everything. Sometimes I strive to keep up and constantly bug ol Louie who is a patient soul. Injuries sustained in my career as well as my military days have now compounded leaving me stiff, sore, and grateful to be alive. Living where I do helps tremendously. Folks marvel that I survived some of the things that happened to me. I suppose I am doing well physically and mentally in spite of the "trauma". I put trauma in quotes as I have never seen it that way. It was part of the job, part of what I signed on for. It was also part of His plan, and I give thanks every day. I have had front row seats to the greatest show on earth and I don't plan on leaving the tent any time soon. G
  7. I have no idea how I missed this until now. This is my type of build. Superb work sir. G
  8. Wow talk about going in circles, this one is a doozy. G
  9. Interesting take on that. I believe that's the first time I have ever seen anyone use the color changing paint for a flame job. I do like the way it came out. It looks good and smooth showing no transition between colors. Did you have to sand at all, or did the paint go on thin enough? Bottom line is it turned out great, the style of the flames and the colors used suit that car well. G
  10. That's the best looking Matador ever. G
  11. Everything about this is just awesome. I love the colors. Great job Jim. G
  12. I watered the palm trees today.......................... G
  13. Gorgeous! X2 G
  14. 81 yesterday, same predicted for today. G
  15. I converted a dark room to a paint room a quite while back. All I really added was a painting hood, extra shelving underneath the bench for the compressor and a venting system. I had a long waist high bench, sink, running water and electrical outlets. Pegboard on the walls allowed easy access to various bottles, mixers and cleaning tools. G
  16. Now that's what I'm wanting to see! G
  17. James that sounds exactly like my ex mother in law #2.She and her husband were two of the most bitter, unhappy people I ever met. She never liked me and went out of her way to show it. Those two played one side of the family off against the other, pitting the two sisters, one being my then wife, against each other for decades. Trouble was they used the grandkids as pawns. How low is that? Even now! When the old man passed two years ago I called the ex and offered my condolences. At the insistence of her mother the ex told my kids I never acknowledged her fathers death. I learned this from my oldest (43) who has also ended any relationship. I suppose they think the children I raised are as stupid as they are. I have had zero contact with any of them for 10 years now. It is amazing but I realized I rarely think of any of them. Only thing left from then that matters are my children now. It kind of P's me off just typing this. There's a Hebrew term for the women like that. It's "achzarit" which loosely translates as "evil b". G
  18. Dad will be gone 20 years this August, Mom 9. My sister and I sat down after mom departed and began going through her things. We started looking at all the old photos and began laughing and telling stories. It was quite apparent neither of us desired anything but the fondest of memories. I have my keepsakes, Diane has has hers. They will be passed to our children and grandchildren as it should be. I am truly blessed in this regard. G
  19. Ditto for all the midwest. G
  20. There was one seller who apparently had a friend set up automatic counter bids. He posted an item, you'd make a bid and instantaneousy it would display a higher counter offer. No thanks, I'll buy it from someone else who doesn't need me to make their house note. G
  21. You know you are from Missouri if: You ever wore shorts and a parka at the same time. You used the heat and AC in the same day. You saw it rain on the other side of the highway while your side was dry. You saw a tornado and said " Darn I just washed the car". The four seasons are, almost winter, winter, still winter and road construction. G
  22. Now that is looking good. Impressive assembly there. I hope it won't be mostly hidden. Busy at work this week, so I'll be following up over the weekend. G
  23. Oh it's cute as a puppy although I do not believe my widebody frame would fit inside. G
  24. Good job! That is a seriously sexy ride. G
