  1. Can somebody please explain to me how an automobile can have a sexual orientation, or is this meant to be some sort of an insult? I think the cars look great! Both are clean, straight builds- good color choice, paint and detail. Regards, David G.
  2. So Cranky's interests encompass not only abandoned, broken-down, gunky and distressed machinery, but abandoned, broken-down, gunky and distressed humans as well! That's just too funny! Bring on the zombies!
  3. From what I've seen so far, everything looks good. I would consider shooting a bit of Dull-Coat on the seats. They are a bit too shiney for my tastes. But aside from that, Aces!
  4. Well, there ya go! That's very cool. What are the details? How'd you make it?
  5. There's a technique I learned on this discussion board that I've used on my last couple of builds. File and sand away the back or inboard portion of the grille until only the grate portion is left. It's tedious and takes some patience. Toward the end, you have to work carefully as the plastic becomes very thin and delicate, but the results are worth it. I did this on my '55 Chevy. You'll notice that the electric cooling fans on the radiator can be seen through the grille. That's not a PE grille, it's plastic. Obviously, it won't work with every type of grille, but for the ones on which it will work, in my opinion, it's worth the effort. Hope this helps, David G.
  6. Brian, that thing just scares the ba-jeebers outta me. Congrats on the honors you received for it, well earned indeed!
  7. Every Firefighter I've ever met is a hero. Period. What other kind of person volunteers to run toward a situation that everybody else is running away from? I'm glad they were able to get such a good response. Thanks for posting the story. Regards, David G.
  8. I haven't seen one of these in about thirty years! Nice work on this one!
  9. Excellent work! Everything about those two models just feels right.
  10. Zooom! Great color, excellent paint, clean build.

    '37 Chevy

Excellent work on a great classic hot rod.
  12. As if the excellent work on the truck wasn't enough... I can't wait to see how your diorama comes out! Also, your English is fine. Much better than my Deutsche, and better than some native English speakers I know. Regards, David G.
  13. Maybe it's done and you just don't know it yet. How about putting it on cinder blocks and making it part of a diorama? What you've got done looks good enough to make it work.
  14. Very cool! Now we know old Hippie millionaires drive!
  15. Be nice Danno. *************** Other than that, I've got boxes of these... partial builds, tear-downs etc. I could just grab one and shoot some paint on it, glue a Barbie head to it and be done. It seems like a neat idea, but, to me, it also seems kind of vague. The one criterion that makes the 1:1 event a challenge is the $500.00 spending cap. It would be cool if there were a way to reflect a similar restriction in the CBP. Regards, David G.
  16. Where, When and How Much? Nevermind "how much," where and when? I would only hope that my skills are worthy.
  17. Everything looks great, your paint and interior detail are excellent. I have one question though: Is the lever on the right side of the steering column a gear selector? If it is, you may want to remove it if you plan on using a shifter on the console. Other than that, everything looks great! Regards, David G.
  18. Clean and classy! Excellent work!
  19. Amazing, as always! I'm gonna be watching this one.
  20. Another Post Apolyptic Community Build? You've got my vote!
  21. I've always loved old abandoned buildings. Sometimes I can feel their "ghosts" just by looking at them from a distance. But get up close or even inside, and that's when the dead come alive... so to speak. Maybe it's just a feel for the history of the location or a sense of nostalga, but I frequently get the same sensation in automotive junk yards. Thanks for posting the pics, I really enjoyed them. David G.
  22. Pretty in Pink! Another pink hot rod. Nicely done!
  23. Color, paint, detail, you've nailed all three with excellent results!
  24. Nailed it! Great work!
  25. Very cool! I like the J.D. theme, you'll need to find some oak barrels to put in the bed! Regards, David G.
