  1. WOW! I switched to "Comfy" and my headache went away! I likey!
  2. I'm liking the Mustang and the BMW 635CSi. They are quite striking. Great use of color - both contrasting and complementary.
  3. I was looking for the Flexi-file with the horseshoe tool thingie that holds bands of sanding film in tension. I have lots of flex files - Beauty supply houses are good for nice cheap ones.
  4. If Scott vouches for you - you're good by me! Welcome!
  5. Thank You - Gregg - I scoured the Micromark site and only found the Bare-Metal. I was hoping to save on some shipping buy buying them from one source. I'm off to check out the great models site...
  6. Greetings - I'm looking for Bare Metal foil and Flexi-files from a good mail order place. I don't wanna drive 45 miles away to see if they have what I want in stock at a well stocked hobby store. I don't have a local well-stocked hobby store here in Lancaster, PA and Micheal's and A.C.Moore (less than a mile away) don't carry it either product. Any help would be great. Thanks!
  7. Tear it up, Peter! Looks great. As always - I'll be following your build.
  8. Thanks for the pictures of the channel job. I'm hoping to do a channeled but stock top sedan one of these days. I'm gonna follow this build. Looks good so far.
  9. I wanna do a build - But seeing as all my tools are in my storage area - I'm gonna see what I can do with a few tools I can buy without breaking the bank. My vision of the finished product is flat black or army green, with the optional blower poking through the hood and slammed to the ground. Problems I see - The blower drive is woefully inadequate and the tires included in the kit are SO narrow they could NEVER hook up a Blown 440. SO I'm thinking about using the rear slicks and wheels from the recent Revell Firebird kit - they are 1/25 scale but look so big on the Firebird - so I'll see what they look like on the Coronet. I'm hoping to exercise basic skills with this build - I think most of the detailing is gonna be paint. I most likely won't include wiring, flocking, or photo-etch. I will do bare metal foil however - painting chrome really sucks. Updates will be sporadic as I'm involved in a whole lot of other stuff. I also wanna test my photo skills to get better pics for future builds.
  10. This is what I got today - or at least recently: I got the book from Amazon.com. The authors are from the UK and it has some wonderful how-tos, pictures, and clean execution throughout. It covers the OOB build of a Tamiya 350Z, detailing of a Ferrari F1 car, a conversion of a stock Ferrari 360 to a racer using a resin body and custom Skyline R34 build.
  11. Dude! That car was HOT! Sorry - couldn't resist.
  12. Mr. Lombardo - Very nice - from starting drawing to the finished product! Thank You for sharing it with us and motivating us to raise the bar. Truly Brilliant!
  13. Holy Carp people! It's not the message board that makes the board it is the people that make a message board great! Please make criticism a bit more polite. Some of the sentiments expressed were almost belligerent. Please treat people the way you want to be treated. Peace! I must ask the question, Gregg - Were there navigation and use complaints about the previous format? I'm of the opinion that - "If it ain't broke - why fix it?" Thank You for striving to make a better board.
  14. Have any progress on this - I'm going into Lombardo withdrawal!
  15. This is a really cool build. I'll be looking forward to how it develops! Do I smell pork?!
  16. This year I have totally thrown away the "Happy Holidays" greeting and have replaced it with a hearty "Merry Christmas!" with a big smile. The reactions have ALL been positive and the sentiments returned with a big smile and wide eyes! I would rather stop and have to wish someone a Happy Yule, Happy Quanzaa, Happy Hanukkah or Blessed Eid al-Adha (A Muslim holiday celebrating the obedience of Abraham) if I am corrected than leave Christ and his gift out of our holiday. It is time the majority take back what is great about Christmas - Giving and sharing LOVE of all mankind in celebration of the Birth of Jesus Christ. Sorry if this is a bit deep. But I feel I needed to share. Something in my childhood about a light and a bushel? Merry Christmas to all of you and your families.
  17. Nick - I hate to tell you but the GT-R never could live up to its hype. The Corvette ZO6 is faster and costs less. The magazine test cars were ringers with factory tuning. Owners that haven't been able to duplicate the numbers are quite ticked-off. Being a GRM reader you should be thinking about how to go faster for much less money. Like a C5 Vette with some turbos and some suspension work. I bet someone could make a car that is a better all-around performer than the GT-R for one third of the money! AND it would be cooler! Nick - I just think that the more technology you put into a car - the more that can go wrong and it takes away from the driving experience. This is why the MkII Ford Escort is so popular with vintage rally racers - no computers, carbs, and rear-wheel-drive without traction control.
  18. I would like to ask where you got the early 70s Firebird body - or more exactly - who manufacturers it? What scale is it 1/24 or 1/25? Any Info would be great! Thanks!
  19. Does anyone know if anyone made a kit of this or a similar Opel Kadett? I picture it slammed with flairs and a DEEP air-dam.
  20. Thank you - I can never get enough of that... umm.... Opel? What kind of car is that anyway?
  21. I didn't find Top Gear until about three years ago. When I did and brought it up to some guys at the plant - they knew about it and soon we had a Top Gear clique at work. "Did you see this....!?" was the lead in phrase of the time. While the testing of exotics is a bit too often - There seems to be a rivalry among exotic manufacturers to build a car for the Top Gear Test Track. I.E. The Koenigsegg CCX wing addition. Since it is one of the - if not THE most watched automotive show on the planet - I can see why being on the top of the test board is so important to them. Like you said - the stunts are a bit nuts - There is only so much you can do with a car. Make it a boat, blow it up, drop it from a crane, drop it from a crane onto a caravan, blow up a building while the vehicle on top of it, play hockey in the snow, play football(soccer) with it in the grass, buy cheap versions of depreciated expensive cars and beat on them until you see them fail, etc. After this many seasons - I think they are running out of ways to destroy cars in creative ways. If it goes, I will miss Clarkson, May and Hammond. They have a comedic timing that is rare with two people - let alone three. I will miss "Star in a reasonably priced car." But the thing I will miss most - Seeing Oliver and twinkle in Hammond's eye when he speaks of it.
  22. That looks really nice! Much better than the box art. Kudos!
  23. My problem had nothing to do with math. I physically measured out the 108mm then measured out the same marked distance with inches! That is why I'm so perplexed! No calculators were harmed in the measuring of this distance.
  24. OOPS!!!! I just measured it out again - I'm still looking for my "lost" quarter in also. 25mm is much closer to one inch than I had initially thought. I'm sorry if I insulted anyone. It was truly an honest mistake. I'm off to find my lost quarter inch.
  25. You seem to view each and every piece as its own finished model! I, too am moved by your attention to detail. School us Obi-Wan!
