YEA! What the french guy said!

Emily - That is one fine first model! It took me a long time to get my stuff looking anywhere near that nice. Keep it up - just like everything else - the more you do it the better you get! I'm not sure how old you are, but on a related note - I met a couple not long ago that came together in college because they realised each one of them build model Corvettes as children while growing up. They are both Doctors now and own a collection of 1:1 Corvettes.

Scott - let me see if I can reprise my spaztic role of twenty-or-so-years ago when I saw your Pink and White injected Vette. Hummmm... Oh my GAWD!!!! That is SO cool!!!!! Really nice! I love Every part of it!
-
Dave - Every one of those Dueces has the RIGHT look - but every one is different. Very nice!
-
Almost Painfully hard - almost. And I have a VERY active imagination! Or is that Halucination?
-
Nice builds! I like how diverse you are with them. An NSX, Galaxie, Duece, lead-sleds, a '33, and a muscle-car. I'm really digging the subtle look of the Ford '49 or '50 Ford. Looks alot like Rev. Billy Gibbons' (of ZZTop) Copperhead coupe - but with more windows. Very clean, also. Thanks for shareing!

Nice! If you squint REALLY HARD - you can almost see a blue Veyron in there somewhere! Outstanding tribute to early aerodynamic attempts. I gotta wonder what a small wing would have done to the handling characteristics? Or even a tall verticle fin. Anyway - outstanding model. What did you use as a base? Or is it entirely fabricated?
-
That sits JUST RIGHT! Can't wait to see color on it. IF I get a bench - and I mean IF - I'm gonna enter this build with a '68 Firebird.

A white interior would be very bright and make the model stand out on the show table. But will it stand out for the right reason? I would vote for an off-white or very light tan interior with some darker brown or dirty-peachy two tone. It all depends what look you are after. If you are going for the 70s look - I'd do the white. If you want a more updated look - I'd swap the seats out for something a bit more modern out of a Mustang, perhaps. Good Luck - Hope I planted a seed of thought!

Greetings fellow scale automotive replication duplicators and impressionists! I am Tim. Tim I am. I am returning to the hobby from an 18 or so year absence. Previously I had been a member of the Sacramento Auto Modellers (S.A.M.) from about 1988 to 1990 while in the US Air Force stationed in Sacramento. There I met some great modellers that introduced me to a different level of modelling - thank you all. It is here that I met Scott Colmer (of Uncertain - C fame). I count him as a friend and one of my greatest modelling influences. Upon returning to my childhood home of Lancaster, Pa. I joined the Keystone Model Miniatures for a spell and then the Central Pennsylvania Model Car Club. I then got distracted by Autocrossing and Hillclimbing a Dodge Omni GLH Turbo. I did that for a few years and then got distracted by kids and family - then divorce. Now four years after that disaster - I am now looking at the creative outlet of car modelling for an outlet to the stresses of life. One thing I have noticed - Age gives you patience - but takes away sharp eyesight. In other words - then I had the vision to see the details and not the patience to execute them - now I have the patience to execute them but not the eye sight! Time for magnifiers! I am currently between work benches as the home in which we currently reside has NO room for a bench. We are currently attempting to sell our home and I hope in the near future to get a workbench/desk up soon to start cutting, painting and throwing putty. I look forward to hanging out with all of you. I have already learned much from Bill Geary and Peter Lombardo as well as other modellers - Thank You!

My question is with the John Greenwood Stars and Stripes Corvette - Sebring '71 kit. Does the kit include the clear headlight bubbles/bumps and the lights behind them? Is it the correct setup? Is there anyone who has duplicated these in 1/25 scale. In my opinion - you just can't do a late 60s or 70s Endurance Corvette without them!

Great builds! The wheel detail on the Merc is very eye catching. Keep it up!

Bill - I am very sorry for your loss. While I don't have a feline friend (due to allergies) - I fully understand the unique bond between cats and their "hosts" (no-one ever owns a cat!). May your cousin's gift bring warmth and love to your home for a very long time. I, too am enjoying this post quite a bit. I am moved by your persistance, patience with both the build, and the questions we all have. All this in the face of adversity. Bill - you are a man of character and a gentleman. I look forward to meeting you at a model gathering in the near future - even if it just to shake your hand. Since we are close - Lancaster and Steelton - I am sure I won't have to wait long. Every once in a while warm fuzzies must enter our lives - even if it is between coats of paint on your next project!

Would using small metal heat sink clamps - like the ones solderers use on printed electric circuit boards (clamps around individual component leads - like posts on a transitor or a capacitor)- aid in the wicking heat away from near-by joints? They look like little spring tension metal roach clips but not as aggressive. They wouldn't be so cumbersome in tight places. I am REALLY liking this build! I will be watching as I am hoping to finish building a brass fad-T frame in the future. Hopefully I can absorb some knowledge from you and other posters on this board. Looking REALLY great! -

Seeing the updates has me thinking about how you did many of these things. What must be going through you mind!? I think the Camaro wheels fit better here than on the Camaro! -

Start and finish a model. After getting a bench. After selling my house... ...and moving -
I would love to show you my work bench. If I had one. I had an L -shaped 50s diner booth that I used to build on. White Naugahyde with red piping with a mushroom pedestal table with red formica top with aluminum trim. Sold it when I moved in with my new wife. I am between work benches right now.

Really - Has anyone tooled and manufactured a Prius model kit? They are in Gran Turismo. They could sell in model form. The Tree-huggers might want the kit to be made of recycled soda bottles and the box made out of hemp or recycled toilet paper, though. It could come with a free pair fo Berkinstocks?!

Peter - You are raising the bar! And making it seem simple enough for many of us to try what you are doing. Now where is my noisey whirring suckey thing? HONEY - HEAT UP THE OVEN! - I wanna make models! SWEETHEART, do you mind if I punch holes in our new baking pan? I'll get you a new one for Christamas! Keep it up Mr. Lombardo - It's looking good. I'm really digging both your builds on the board. -
Peter - Thank You for shareing that! That was exactly the details I was looking for.
-
I'm really diggin' the feel of the car - great use of color to get the just-made-from-cast-off-junk vibe. Right-on! I was wondering if you could tell me how you got the distressed/worn leather look to your seat. Is there a how-to on the board? Could you do one?
