  1. I posted this in the "what did you get" thread, and I have been trying to find any info on the other kits. No luck. I know three of them had Vespa scooters and looking at the box art I can see at least 5 other kits in the series. It includes the Vespa scooter, the cotton candy stand, and even the "cotton" candy. Anybody have any pics or info about the rest of the kits? An eBay search(s) yielded nothing and a Google search was not too successful.
  2. I just sold the last release of that kit on eBay - surprised when it went for $48! I guess some people don't watch the "to be released" Revell announcements. It's an interesting kit overall - I believe it's based on a diecast? Wish it had a stock option, but still cool none the less.
  3. Yes, I remember a toy store going out of business here 30 or so years ago and they had handgun model kits - I didn't get any because at 9 or 10 years old, I couldn't understand why you would want a model of a gun.
  4. That Super Spider was the first kit I ever built.
  5. It's definitely nice to have tracking and insurance (insurance is included in the Priority price). I sold a 1/12 scale Camaro kit to a buyer in Poland. Priority mail was $61 - but I wanted to be covered if the kit didn't make the journey. It's getting more expensive and with gas prices now, it's not going any place but up.
  6. Just ship it First Class Mail International. No tracking...but the delivery to Canada is reliable. It is as cheap to send a package First Class Mail International to Canada as it is to send a priority package from coast to coast domestically - may e even cheaper.
  7. Revell has a few with seperate wipers and handles - '64 T-bolt and '66 Impala both come to mind as I recently finished both. I have to say, the wipers in the '64 kit don't fit well and I replaced them with PE parts. At least I had the option though. I really like seperate door handles.
  8. One of the best WIPs I have seen. Thanks for the extra effort on the photos and labeling. Ford is looking really cool.
  9. Funny thing is, I have been eyeing this 1:1, $2000...
  10. What about the "Links, Advertisers, and Websites" section of the forum? Couldn't somebody just make a list of links and post it there? Are links to sites or contacts that sell the same as selling "on the site"? I understand from, Gregg's point of view (and the economic success of MCM), that it's not really conducive to advertising dollars in the magazine to have everyone listing sites and links on the free forum though.
  11. Sunset over water. Really cool paint job. That is a great looking Miata with some excellent modifications. Very nice indeed.
  12. Woody trim? Excellent.
  13. Look in the best light/brightest spot. It's probably not there, but it would be easier to see.
  14. They are actually '48s. The OP, I believe, made a mistake. The '48s are available from Galaxie Limited - there is a link posted above.
  15. Cool. Does the coupe share the same chassis and engine as the aerosedan and delivery? What are some differences besides body?
  16. The decals on the side look much better. Nice revision.
  17. I realize how much I take for granted being able to walk and build models. I am glad you are feeling and doing better.
  18. Those are pretty cool vans. Look, there's those desert dogs! (passing reference to the 1/20 van thread).
  19. Nice work. Very good looking build. Clean. Smooth. Nice.
  20. How much of a difference is there? The Tim Flock looked pretty close minus the stock wheel covers, but I am in no way close to evaluating the accuracy of it being FS. I really like that box art for the new 52. Very dramatic.
  21. Smooth, clean build. Very beautiful. Nice work on the paint job.
  22. Oh, and yes, the show is scripted. How else does a cameraman get there and start filming before the truck arrives? It is just for entertainment and to get people thinking their piles of trash are actually worth something.
  23. On the episode where they bought the early 60s AMT/SMP kits, he purchased (IIRC) 27 kits for $540 or so dollars - or about $20 per kit. Some were started/built. They never talked about the kits after that and didn't share what they "made" on them. The guy had other models too, but the only ones they bought were the AMT kits.
  24. I like this build. Unique. Well done. I can't quite make out what is surfing on side picture. Is it a peanut? Really cool.
