  1. Very clean, solid build. I like it.
  2. Very nice. I like the wheel choice and the surprise under the hood. Great build.
  3. Very cool! A lot of work and it turned out fantastic. The coffin trailer is a great touch.
  4. I like the straight, simple lines of early sixties American autos - especially the Pontiac group: I just find the balance of chrome, lines, and size pleasing. Also, one of my favorite cars for overall lines is the Toyota 2000gt. Pretty simple but with enough curves to be beautiful. The front end treatment is a visual distraction to me, but the rest...: I also like the "swoopiness" of some modern designs - this Hyundai - the curves and how the door handles are part of the crest: Great topic too, Rob.
  5. Two cars I am surprised have not seen 1/24 scale life - I really like the old Contessa (there is a 1/32 but...) I would add all new molds for a 1961 Pontiac Ventura
  6. So...it seems there are a few Continental fans here. I am not familiar with the intricacies of the 60s Lincolns (I do have two AMT kits, 62 and 65). What is the difference in the models - specifically the 61-66s? Are there major differences?
  7. Is the OHC 6 the same (or similar, block wise) as the 6 in the 67-69 MPC firebird? Any shots of instruction sheet showing engine?
  8. I heart retro reviews. Those decals are cool - the "Jinricksha"? Hey, Michigan plates!
  9. I have an old (maybe original issue?) box and the top is listed as a "Fastback Top".
  10. Thanks. Airbrushed Tamiya clear blue.
  11. Nice! Cool paint and looks great all cleaned up.
  12. Thanks for the comments. The mirror - I was going to hang it traditional style but found a few reference pictures like this this: I liked the non-traditional look. The side mirrors were optional in 1964 as far as I could tell, so they were mounted in different spots, even on the door.
  13. My club had this for a common build theme - due in May. Needless to say, I missed the deadline. I did manage to finish it now, though. Kit is the recent reissue '64 GTO - paint is Duplicolor primer and Duplicolor dark cherry red metallic. It is built to represent a "burnout machine" - the kind of car somebody has that is in construction, but meanwhile, is darn good at wasting tires. Engine is a 615 Chevy big block from the Revell 55 Chevy Pro Sportsman kit - borrowed some parts from the parts bin (manifold, front cover, headers, etc) - painted Pontiac engine blue from Model Master.
  14. If she is in North Idaho, Spokane, WA, has a model car club (we meet less than 15 minutes from the state line). If she is not in the Panhandle, I can't help.
  15. Very nice, clean, realistic build. The kind I like. Small touches really add up to the overall viewing experience.
  16. I agree. Sellers rely on good feedback and will more than not, make things right. I have always contacted sellers when a problem arises and have always either received a discount or other correction - one seller sent me a complete extra kit when he couldn't ship out when promised.
  17. Don't shake your paint. Stir it. Since adopting this, I do not have paint lids that stick. Buy a large bundle of sticks at the craft store for stirring.
  18. Cool. Who makes the wagon?
  19. I love them too - I was at the Good Guys show today and saw a few nice convertibles and one nice four door - for sale! Nice build Ron - great paint job and color. I am assuming it's a curbside like the '64 promo style AMT kit? Very nice. Now I am going back up to look some more.
  20. I would enter, but their stock is plummeting and I don't want to be on there when it sinks.
  21. Shop around online or eBay (larger volume "buy it now" sellers have multiple buying options and larger supplies of kits). Buying that many should garner free shipping at the least - saving some green.
  22. Cool concept, and, being from the PNW, I like the decals (Portland, OR) - but...you can see the big difference in Coupe vs. Sedan in this shot!
  23. Looks like a nice build, Mike. I would recommend a little better lighting and less clutter in the photos, though. No complaints about the model, it is cool.
