Canadian resin casters or company's?
Erik Smith replied to 426 pack's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I’m in the US and it took a good 8-9 weeks to arrive at my door. You could probably trim some time off for Canadian orders. -

I am building his VW engine now. It’s pretty good overall. Not as crisp as plastic or Hobby Design resin stuff, but good. I have his 528 Mopar and it’s better. His seats are great. -

I don’t know about modern cars...lots of masking for black on the body and “glass”... Probably only about 8 days of work left on this:

Serious air brushing issues...

The base depends on the final finish. Chrome and chrome-like finishes require a gloss base. The aluminum and other metals generally just a primer base. Alclad is the brand of paint that covers a gamut of finishes including chrome, metals, and candies. I have never had issues spraying any of them over Duplicolor primers. They are, in fact, some of the easiest paints to spray (for me anyhow). Just a good base and 12-15 psi... -

Which Alclad? Over what base? Any photos? I think most of the “metal” Alclads recommend 12-15 psi. You should definitely not have to thin Alclad. Now their primers and base coats are different. A little clarification could help with answers. -
Looking for a good airbrush

GSI Creos (PS290). They make the “Mr.” brand items. -

Awesome work Bruce! I stripped and repainted the Challenger’s hood to try and get a better fit - works a bit better. The twist holds for a few days and eventually one corner is slightly higher again, but...nothing more I’m going to do about it. I just hope it doesn’t catch air going 132 mph across the country and rip off.
-
I agree. Most of that work won’t be seen - a modeler’s model for sure. Awesome work. I built one about 7 years ago or so - love the kit.
-
Wait. What? This has to be one of the most obscure, or, at least lame, cars ever brought to kit form. Daihatsu Miras and Leezas, Toyota Yaris and Platzes will have a new shelf mate. I’ll definitely be getting one.

Actually same truck, different photo and time in build...

Monthly updates are great...for those looking monthly! I don't even visit the site once a month from about May to October! Really, there are two periods I am totally motivated...when the new theme comes out, and about one month before the finish. I am anticipating some pretty non-traditional models with the inline theme - looking forward to it!

This truck - posted above also - has two Cummins inline 6 diesels. So, they are parallel, still inline...It seems like a good idea. Wouldn't take much, really, just scratchbuilding two eninges and then a frame to accomodate the two eninges plus a way to adapt the two engines to one transmission, and also a really big gas tank. I'm still thinking of combining some of the categories since my brain was already working towards that.

I think I have some resin copies of a Jo-Han air cleaner...might be from a 66 or 67? I made about 10 practicing casting parts, so if you need one let me know! That's a great rebuilder and looks like no little kids banged the trim or did other evil little kid things to it.

Month and year? Maybe include a little of the contents - tough with character limits in title though. If somebody is looking for “Car Model” magazine, they will more than likely search “Car Model Magazine” - so if you put it as something different, it won’t come up in a search for “Car Model Magazine”...

What did you see on the road today?
Erik Smith replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That’s a cool sight Tom. AWD and pretty quick car. -

Very cool collection of inline builds Fred! Here are a few of the inlines I’ve built... Last one is 1/32 modified/scratchbuild using the Tamiya mini block.

ford bronco by revell 1966 to 77
Erik Smith replied to bubbaman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
“Honey, let’s drive the new Bronco out to the woods, park the front end on a rock and start a fire on a little gravel hill” ”Uh, okay” ...cool brochure though!
