  1. Cool model! I have seen a Jeep with a single disc plow on back for cutting fire line.
  2. Oh no, now it’s a van with a straight six and big ugly wheels...hehe. Guess I should focus on my 2017 model still...
  3. Haha! No worries - you can still see the beautiful rocks!
  4. There are some beautiful hikes all around Sedona - if you are interested in that. If so I probably have a trail guide from our trip in 2015 I could send you... My girls on Cathedral Rock:
  5. Van with a inline 4...?
  6. My family made fun of me because I got so excited about this: it was number 2244 or so (plaque on dash) of about 3500 made in 75-76 - saw it drive by in Hood River and had to chase it down to get a photo
  7. Excellent model. Great, clean construction.
  8. Kind of a tough choice - I like 4 of the 5 - I’m going to look at my kits and mull it over...
  9. The parts of the Kenne Bell supercharger: I cut a regular rectangle for the base at first, then realized it needed to be offset to match the heads, so I took measurements and cut out the shape with a Silhouette Cameo and glued up the .10 layers.
  10. Some primer... and adding a few “horse power (s)?” to the Hemi via a Kenne Bell supercharger
  11. So, in addition to seconding the 4,6, 8 straight (STRAIGHTBALL anyone? INLINE Across the USA?) How about "When Worlds Collide" = power train for your car has to be from another continent. Want to run a 1972 Chevelle? Cool, has to be powered by a Nissan engine...
  12. I think either the 4 or 6 cylinder restriction would be great - or both. Or just a “straight” anything...
  13. Well, the days are getting shorter and colder...guess it’s time to dust things off and see where I left them....I hope none of the parts melted away over the summer. Congrats on the ranch, Rob!
  14. The possibility of GM gearing up for a Chinese market that is known to steal ideas, have 50/50 ventures where young Chinese engineers work alongside US engineers (kind of stealing knowledge again) is kind of scary...will we have to bail them out again?
  15. China’s markets are notoriously, uh, bent to favor China - from large tariffs to forced 50/50 joint ventures. However, GM currently sells more cars in China than in the US (3.9 million vs 3 million). I think they are around 10% of the market, but with numbers like almost 4 million sales, hard to not want to continue in the market.
  16. One big thing driving the change is the auto market outside the US, mainly China. There are millions of affluent Chinese that want clean air to breathe. They will obviously be shifting the pollution from the big cities to the rural parts of the country, but the smog problems in cities may be reduced. If GM wants a part of the largest car market in the world, they better have something to offer.
  17. One (looked to be in excellent condition) sold March 5th on eBay for $38 with two bidders. The kit's value is to Mopar and/or model kit collectors - as it is quite crude as far as details go. $18 dollars for a local sale is probably good. EBay has millions of shoppers - locally, you're probably looking at a few people.
  18. That's what I thought. Here is the actual hood, if anybody is interested: %5BURL=http://s966.photobucket.com/user/erikmsmith/media/C0D07D8E-408F-4551-BA28-7F3B067F72E0_zpsth9wfqoy.jpg.html] The other resin parts are Clarisse's body. The rear window block outs are actually styrene.
  19. Does the other Gunze Sangyo/Airfix kit have the earlier model resin parts like the Lupin III version? I have actually seen the The Castle of Cagliostro movie a number of times - the model is from that specific movie, I don't know if Clarisse was running from the Count in the 2CV in the series. The car is destroyed very quickly as it goes off a cliff.
  20. I've used both the scratch filler and sandable quite a bit. The scratch filler isn't really that thick - unless you spray it on really...thick. The scratch filler, however, in my experience, is not as "hot" as the sandable and does not ghost nearly as much as the sandable...but, I also have experienced some adhesion issues with the scratch filler. After priming, sanding, priming, painting, I have had masking tape peel paint - primer and all - when I used the scratch filler as a base. Could be random - but the sandable definitely does not peel. So the sandable is my go to.
  21. Funny - within the last year, I parted ways with almost this exact collection. No regrets.
  22. I thought HVLP was High VOLUME, Low Pressure?
  23. Weird guy. Crook. He's selling recast Hobby Design turbos on one of Fireball Modelworks Holley carb bases! I see a lot of resin garbage on eBay and wonder who buys it - and more interestingly, who leaves a favorable review?
