  1. HERE Type in zip and go shopping Edit: That used to work - currently I just keep getting an error when I input my zip...?
  2. Excellent! Glad to see it finished. Great looking model - I love all the details.
  3. Nice! Great work. I like the way the long roof gets tucked in the fins.
  4. Not sure I would build another AMT Gremlin.
  5. I like those wheels Kenn. I think you need to step up the challenge and start making your own plastic though. It's just sooooo easy to go buy some pre-made styrene
  6. AB gives you a broader range of possibilities. Everyone has different techniques and most work well for them - and you can get a good finish with either can or AB. However, you can't spray airbrush only paints (Alclad, metalizers) if you don't have an AB. Also, you can decant from the can and spray with an AB, so you can get the control you need but with the pre-thinned paint you want. I use both regularly.
  7. Yeah, it's hard to realize how small a lot of the old "mini" cars were - especially compared to today's standards. Here is my daughter next to a Mini - look at the monster cars around it!
  8. I have this from Trumpeter: 1/35 scale, it has a couple hundred parts including a PE fret. I think I payed $28. I will post pics later to show how detailed and beautifully molded a kit can be...
  9. Those are 1/20 wheels and tires. I believe originally from one of the 1/20 vans???
  10. I enjoy the MCM forum. I enjoy the magazine (I buy at a local train shop). They are both beneficial for the hobby of model cars. It is really difficult to point blame at one person, or two people - and it really doesn't matter. Humans, while similar in so many ways, also differ greatly in thier ability to understand, cooperate, and see things from different perspectives. It makes communication even more difficult when in the form of writing - there is no inflection, no body language, no way to get past what you read and interpret from that - right or wrong. It's difficult and people who read a post or a PM need to understand that fact, step back and look at things from multiple views. We are all here to learn and be inspired. We can also converse with people who like the same things as ourselves - models. I can't go to a coffee shop and find anybody willing to talk "model". Carry on Gregg.
  11. It's a marketing thing. Here is what I gather... The monogram kits are geared toward weekend buyers and younger builders. They are cheaper and seem themed more for that crowd - box top design, etc. The Revell kits are a little more "advanced" (?) - meaning more for enthusiasts. The special edition versions, etc - and they have a higher price. Just my dos pesos, though, and I could be way off.
  12. Nice choice of colors and finishes. Great looking model.
  13. That is truly incredible. It would make a cool 1:1, but a handmade "dwarf" version is over the top cool. He's driven it 30,000 miles!
  14. I am confused. I think all model kits are awesome.
  15. Door handles are in the wrong place, too. Easy enough to cut off, but still...
  16. Gorgeous paint on a fantastic model. One of the coolest paint jobs I've ever seen.
  17. AMT has been through ups and downs in the model industry. They have a mixed bag too, quality wise, but have graced us with some great models. I haven't built all the AMT muscle kits, not even close, but I can throw in my two pennies... 1962 Pontiac Catalina (yeah, maybe not technically a "muscle", but pretty close, and an awesome kit! 1966 Ford Fairlane 427 (Best FE out there?) 1966 Nova SS (ground breaking in terms of parts and engineering at the time) 1971 Charger RT (one I just "discovered", a great kit all around) 1970 Monte Carlo 1967 Mustang GT 1966 Olds 442 There are others I will remember as soon as I hit post... Oh, 1970 1/2 Camaro
  18. Looks very cool. What chassis will this fit? Will "glass" be included?
  19. I really like that color - and great job on the application. The gold engine looks rather striking contrasting the dark body color. Great looking model.
  20. About 90% super glue for me. I even use it for body filler. I use model glue sparingly and only if I need to adjust something as it dries, and dries...
  21. Nice work so far. I like those wheels! If you find out where they came from let me know! If you have and extra...could I borrow it?
  22. Nice work! Very cool little model. ...and there is no way those high riders will ever catch that Trabbi!
  23. Test first. Duplicolor clear is relatively "hot", so, yeah... Also, why experiment on a good paint job? Use what has worked for you before and leave the experiments to spoons or other people's models.
  24. Where's the review, Adam? I like the keicars - the Autozam is probably one of the coolest - and would like to see what the Today looks like...
