  1. Nice work. That is a great looking model.
  2. Okay, Cranky, here is what I like... ...so many people bemoaned this kit - "it's good for parts, but I don't care for the car" - well, your model is proof that even a OOB model can be unique and cool with the addition of creativity. Great work so far.
  3. Just the box on that is cool. I second the retro review. I bought one of my "grails" last week - should be getting it in the mail soon...
  4. Same place I got mine. The "metal" decals are actually metal transfer - they are 3 dimensional and chrome.
  5. Great color and nice model.
  6. I think it would be great to have a sheet of metal transfers with emblems and scripts for, say, a particular car maker. So you could get GTO, Skylark, and Camaro (GM products) on one sheet. I have some for Honda and Ford that I purchased from China - so, licensing legally might be a set back.
  7. They will probably through in a set of printed slicks, too.
  8. Sad. Rest In Peace Tom.
  9. I dull coat the tire and decal, though. Yes, cutting off the paddles is easy. It's not necessary though. Plus, try cutting off the ribs on some of the Revell wheels - one (i think they are the steel wheels in a Mustang kit) has a big ring plus ribs. It's not hard, I just don't like to waste 10 or 20 minutes doing it.
  10. Hobby Lobby had them on the clearance rack here for $7
  11. Care to elaborate what exactly this means?
  12. Nice model! Looks just like, well, a '53 Hudson should!
  13. Fear of Facebook has more to do with ignorance than it does actual malicious content. If you know what FB is and how to work within it, it's not bad. Some people are addicted to it and have excessive use, just like anything in life.
  14. Why are kit makers starting to use this style (or similar) wheel? The kind with a ridge or pegs around the middle that fit in a groove on the tire. Why? It is hard to get the wheels in the tire without scratching the paint or stretching tire decals. You can't use the wheels in other tires. Moebius does them. Revell - most notably in the Rat Roaster - does them. I can't see an advantage other than to bother me.
  15. This makes no sense. If a kit sells well, Revell doesn't really care if some people would rather have a traditional hot rod. They will make what sells. Period.
  16. Beautiful color.
  17. Sam - what size of military type tire are you looking for? I have a set from Italeri's Toyota Landcruiser that I won't be using. They are close to stock size (1/24), I would guess.
  18. Wow! Cool touch! I can't say I see too many customized modern cars - I like it. It will be fun watching the model construction.
  19. Round2 is not soliciting ideas on Facebook. It was for discussion only. The discussion was "If you could promote your dream model, what would it be?". "It was simply to generate discussion" - per the Marketing manager at Round2. Round2 gets thousands of model requests every week. The exercise on FB was meant for the FB crowd and to generate traffic on Round2's FB site.
  20. This is right up there with the nicest kits ever produced. Nice work so far!
  21. Cool ideas. So your car has no tail lights?
  22. Either one of those would be very cool and an enthralling conversion. That Saints car looks horrible - even on the box. They couldn't even straighten the tired for the photo?
  23. Wow. Nice die cast model. Cool car too. I like the hood hinges - so much nicer than the big metal bent thing hinge.
