  1. I am kind of addicted to my AB. I prefer it to hand painting or spray cans, although I also use both. In order: AB, can, hand. I probably use it even when it's not necessary and paint one or two small parts - wasting time and thinner to clean - but, as I said, I really like using it. I am about 50/50 AB/cans on large parts like bodies, though.
  2. There was this "Bird of Paradise" too Not part of the set, just the same name...
  3. Here is one I have been after for a couple years... Now...1963 Super Duty is possible.
  4. Everybody on the forum can vote, and, yes, it has a lot to do with how it looks. Since we can't actually race the cars, and judging solely on which ones would make the trip would eliminate some well built models, we (including you!) vote on the model we like best. I tend to build in the spirit of the Cannonball - some just build whatever they fancy.
  5. You can keep the spray cans - just decant and you have pre thinned paint ready to spray. You can control how much comes out, now, and no more spray bombs.
  6. "Ford transmission problems" brings up 17,900,000 results, which means...?
  7. One thing I have noted - if you are getting lots of overspray inside your box, it's probably not pulling enough CFMs. I replaced my little fan with a 265 CFM fan and have very little over spray hitting the back or sides of my booth now - previously, it would pull the cloud down but wouldn't quite suck down spray from the can or AB.
  8. Consumer reports. Find what you need, which vehicles fit that need, and finally which one fits your budget. If you are looking at a car a few years old, CR will have enough feedback (data) about areas of concern - transmission, electrical, etc - so you can focus on cars that not only perform well and fit your needs, but ones you won't have to dump money into. Anecdotal stories about "oh, man, I had one of those, good car" or "mine broke all the time" don't tell you anything - ANYTHING - about potential reliability or how you would like the car.
  9. There have been a few threads about translations - I found this one today looking through a parts kit - Aoshima Terrano (Pathfinder): Heehee!
  10. Moving along... Basic interior shaped in and power almost complete. I have gone through two headers so far - no luck. Going to try a dragster style exiting the wheel well next.
  11. Saw the auction link last week - some really interesting model cars and, not a whole lot bigger, real cars. I would love to go and just look over all the items.
  12. You should see the sky here - or rather, you can't. I thought it looked like you live in some sort of paradise.
  13. Great looking model. I like that color choice.
  14. Wha? This is new news to me! The box says Ebbro - isn't that a die cast maker?
  15. I paid $115 for a fan. Used scrap plywood. About $35 worth of ducts. An electrical box, switch and end of an old extension cord. I have a 265 CFM downdraft booth. Give me a minute and ill post some pics. Here is my fan number from grainger Item #: 6FHX9
  16. Nice clean construction on a classy ride.
  17. Good point Bill. So many people are limiting themselves when they only sell to the US market. It's more work, but more opportunity. I haven't shipped in a year, but first class international was cheaper (to some countries) than priority domestic! Take a look at the price of US market kits on the Japanese model sites - yowzers! Around $37 for a new Revell release.
  18. Great looking model. I actually like the Biscayne top better than the "bubble". Nice details.
  19. Great model and fantastic work. That work putting in the window molding is impressive.
  20. Very nice models. The wagon is beautiful.
  21. Stock only on the 62 Galaxie. It does have the whitewall tires, though - and a convertible interior.
  22. Nice looking VW model. Your camera is the reason the paint looks different - it's the white balance, which changes with the source of light.
  23. That's what happens when you don't care what a car looks like.
