  1. Great work. Very nice looking model. I love the color and the interior paint looks good. Smooth.
  2. Beautiful Miura. I really like the colors - exterior and interior. Finishes look good too - nice sheen inside. Looks very cool.
  3. Great model. I like it a lot. Interesting subject.
  4. Wow. That's an absolutely beautiful model. The pinstriping looks fantastic. There is a lot to look at in the stagecoach - the small details, "leather". Very nice. I find old wagons and such where I work - mostly farm equipment, no stagecoaches yet - but they share some if the same engineering (brakes, axles, etc.). We found one wagon last year with a WA license plate from 1918 on it.
  5. Round 2 is doing this - Goodyear Ployglas tires in new kits.
  6. Nice clean model. Paint looks beautiful - and a great color. I only have one red model - guess I need to branch out a little...
  7. The interior work on that model is astounding. Love the air intake headlight bucket trick.
  8. Very sharp looking model. Great work.
  9. That doesn't look dangerous. A good helmet and a fire suit and you're good. Nice work on the chassis mods.
  10. I am to the point I strip the chrome and paint with Alclad chrome or polished aluminum - kit chrome is usually too thick and obscures detail, not to mention mold lines, etc.
  11. I didn't. When I left the hobby in the 90s the Internet was just starting to morph. Images took about 10 minutes to download. There were not many (any, that I knew of) model sites. I didn't really consider it to have any effect on the hobby. Flash forward...2008. What a difference. I don't know how active or involved I would have stayed were it not for the web. I belong to a local club, but we only meet once a month, so... Edit: my daughter (15) and I were just talking this morning. How did we ever do anything without the Internet? Yes, I know we did, but...life is so different...
  12. I don't think Leno is the market draw for the age group Foose and others would be. He has an awesome collection, yes, but my kids don't even know who he is. As far as collaborating, I think the Gearz deal is a win/win. The contest and presence on the show help Revell sell kits, which means thu can make money and all that follows. We builders get a newly tooled kit based on Stacey David's car. The main reason to put recognizable names on a model box is to draw new customers. Somebody unfamiliar with the hobby could care less if Revell has a new tool '57 Ford. They would think it's cool to see a Foose model, though, something "regular" customers may or may not give a hoot about. So, what was the question? Oh, I think they need a balance of dropping names and developing new kits - much like they are doing now. Seems like a good balance as is but I don't know the numbers on sales, so...
  13. Their coupons expire every week. A new one will be available again the next day.
  14. These boards are nice. As a social group, modelers are pretty small (in numbers) and diverse - so we wouldn't probably meet "in the real world". Model building is generally a solitary endeavor, too, so taking a break and looking in on boards breaks that up - especially if you can't get out of the house for one reason or another.
  15. Cool so far. I like those Japanese four door models.
  16. Cool start. I like the roof design - A little Mod Toppish/Old ladyish/Low riderish-look. Oh, I am on a Mac and the pictures are working fine.
  17. Cool. I enjoy seeing your "readjustments" on diecasts - especially ones I am not familiar with.
  18. Love that Iron Butterfly. Nice work on all of them.
  19. Good work, Curt Raitz. Beautiful models.
  20. Love that '62 Bonnie. Very nice models.
  21. Nice paint.
  22. Those tires - front and rear - look very cool in the pictures. So does the blower. Hmmmm...
  23. They (Chinese government) probably just locked up the factory. Nevertheless, the fact DM is looking for another way to produce the kits leads to the belief that the molds may not be easily acquired? I have no idea how the Chinese government works (well, beyond layman knowledge), and I don't assume it would operate the same as our system (albeit, banks would be the confiscatory here). A government official might have a brother that wants to get into diecast cars ?
  24. Cool car - clean building on it too. The DVD case is a little distracting - but...you can really see how small the model is! Nice work.
