  1. Here is my starting point...1966 Nova with a little modern update to the drive train: May try to get a Bandit Resin Sedan to replace the hardtop, may not... The unstarted state:
  2. I've got 18 years on New Year's Eve. Crazy how that much time has gone by! I still love my wife now like I did then. Congratulations!
  3. Very nice. Great work in this model. I like he paint sheen - not too shiny - looks like a real paint job!
  4. I love the T-Bird. I liked the WIP - seeing that paint go together was great. That model alone is worth 10 years of my stuff. I don't really know what that means, but it sounds good. Excellent work on both models.
  5. What's up with that Willys? That's not a pretty box. The Rat Roaster should be a very interesting kit - I will be looking forward to seeing what the parts look like.
  6. Yes - MPC Pacer has an AMC straight six. I can pull mine out and post a picture in the morning. Isn't the Pontiac six is an OHC - a different beast altogether.
  7. Colder? I don't know. Welcome! Any hobby shops in Wyoming?
  8. It's not unfinished, it's de-finished. Really? Is this what it's come too? Does this signal the end of the lets-make-my-hundred-grand-car-look-old-on-purpose nonsense? I hope so.
  9. Cover both bases! Handling and horse power - just in two cars! I would build two, too, but just finishing one will be my greatest challenge.
  10. Yes, you can. However - and I don't want to quash any motivation - the whole point of joining a Cannonball Run Community build is so you can think about, research, brainstorm, and, ultimately, build a car that would perform well in a cross country race.
  11. It's realistic. There have been multi-engine vehicles built. Does it make sense? I don't know. Everybody has their own idea on how to win the race. It would be a powerful car, for sure. Would it use a lot of gas? Heck yes. Would it be more difficult to keep two engines running he whole race? Maybe. Would it look cool and garner some votes because it had two Hemi engines? Undoubtedly. So my verdict is: build the beast and let's see who wins!
  12. The Cannonball Run is a race across the US. Do all the entries make sense? No. Does that mean they are disqualified? No. The voting is done on the forum, so if everybody likes a model that might run out of gas or drive off the road, it still wins. The point of the CB, though, is the Cannonball Run. The point is to think about what it would take to run a long distance the fastest - without getting arrested, or worse. So, while you could enter anything, the "spirit" is in the race.
  13. I think only the Trumpeter Nova has the third gen 6 in styrene form. Check the straight 6 community build too - might have some ideas.
  14. You might be able to get enough good metal there to make one Skyline, but it looks like most of it is rotting away. Some substantial damage to those cars too. Could be a pile of parts cars for some restoration.
  15. That's my excuse for not committing to anything yet
  16. Thanks for the additional photos! That is a great looking, clean model. I love these cars done up in racing style. The fujimi kits (based off the old Nitto kit) require a little work too - not as cleanly tooled as the Tamiya version. The S800 never really made it to the US market - there were a few imported and a few left around, but chances of ever seeing one are extremely slim. I have watched a lot of videos of these racing though - awesome high revving engines.
  17. Welcome. I enjoy the variety of builders this site is starting to accumulate. Nice to get perspectives and knowledge outside of our own borders. I also like military/aircraft builders doing cars - you guys bring in a different and beneficial skill set.
  18. Holy smokes! Seriously. Those are some great looking models - and so many! Nice work! I like the S800 - one of my favorite cars.
  19. I am in again this year. I will finish my entry. I will let you know what I will be building. I will stop saying I will.
  20. I think the Pollyscale is acrylic. The Floquil is enamel.
  21. Modelhaus T-197 Modelhaus T-426 And from the recent King Cobra Slicks And two whitewalls
  22. Floquil is made by Testors, no? Still available. LOOK HERE It is marketed more to railroad modelers. I have a few bottles - great selection of colors.
  23. That's pretty rare. A lot of those kits don't build such a great model but they have high collector value - especially in Japan. I am no expert on that kit, but searching other eBay sites (outside US), the kit is listed for quite a bit and has sold for $60 and up. Cool piece that I wouldn't mind seeing some pictures.
  24. I have been fortunate enough to fly in quite a few Bell helicopters - 205, 206, 212, 412...in addition to Hughes, Lamas, and a few others. That sound when a 212 is coming in is unmistakable. Bell 210
  25. Hey Tom, HERE is a list of PNW shows for 2013
