  1. Dann.... I am the same way plus the old boxes are great for storage and being able to keep track of whats what. To make things even sicker after our tornado I had to toss out some old boxes/instructions/decals to some old kits, etc. I have due to there getting soaked and damaged beyond any use...now there in baggies.... Plus the old boxes remind me of better days and make me smile just looking at them.
  2. That is unbelievable luck it got there ok. I am one that likes the old boxes and instructions...I had one guy send me one that he cut up the original box to make it fit in the one he had to ship it in...bummer.
  3. Welcome Rick..! Thank you for your service to us all..! I have been building/restoring models and promos since I was a kid...now disabled its a great way to pass all the time and keep active. Im a die hard very very late 50s through 70s body style guy of almost anything...LOL.. Looking forward to seeing your work...
  4. Congrats Mike...! I wish you all much happiness together....
  5. Cool find...another note is I believe its the only van like this with the proper roof ribs they had...and it still has Mr T in it. All small block Chevys from this era look the same.
  6. Xs 2 Dave....I have been through a lot myself and still do everyday. Hang in there. I have had days when I wondered why or how I can continue to build,etc....In my case what else am I going to do plus its all I know and a passion I have had since a kid...I am too old to change now. There are lots of people here to talk with if you feel the need Dave.
  7. Just because something is rare it does not command a high price...some rare models can be gotten very reasonable still if one looks or shops around. Sometimes you just get lucky too. While some expect big bucks for stuff some do not or have no clue what they really have or what its worth...there only worth what someone is willing to pay for them anyway. I once got a 68 Impala convertible SS promo in near mint condition at a garage sale for 5.oo and was happy to pay that for it...there pretty rare too.
  8. Id love to have a crew and single cab version but have too much funds issues to. Glass is a big plus for them though.
  9. I use to have one of those years ago...would love to have another....Round 2 needs to reissue it as a parts pack...also the 63 Ford pickup overhead camper top...
  10. AWESOME Tom....I wish you had your own model kit company.
  11. Tom.... That is AWESOME...!!!! I have always wanted to build a mobile home trailer but believe its out of my skill level plus its too hard to find supplies to try here that one can afford too...awesome work I understand your reluctance to weather it looks great like it is...
  12. That is one way to look at it....Johan kits seem to be getting harder to find or afford everyday here in my area. Some of their kits had defects when they were new...still I love them and even their snap kits myself.
  13. its hard to say if the both taillight lenses are there from the photo but it appears to be missing one of them to me...the ski poles, etc. are just above the tires in the photo. Its a pretty detailed kit builds nicely with work...finding missing parts could become hard to do...I know this first hand I have a bunch I have been looking for parts to for over 10 years with not much of any luck.
  14. Id love to get my hands on one of those someday.
  15. Nice save and progress on her....I dig these cars they have class and performance. I feel for you working on restoring it after being customized...I fight that same issue with most of mine being they were built back in the 60s.
  16. Welcome Joel....! Were all addicted to plastic here your in the right place.
  17. How about the one called(Little GTO)by Frankie and the Daytona's?...I think they did it anyway.? Sorry no photos but I build/restored these... 65,72 GTO 70 GTO promo red/red.
  18. I love the Land Rover kit....very cool..! Someday Id like to have these again... Uni-Real Roller show rod Ghost of the Red Barron skull figure
  19. Where did you get the farm tractor kits from...?...and how much were they...?
  20. Welcome Kevin...! I am in IL. too....NICE builds and Nice cars...!
  21. Dan...I understand your wanting to see one or something...someday you might. I just hope its not as close as what we seen once about 4 car lengths from ours ...I doubted these things till I seen one and seen several since then with other witnesses.
  22. Richard... I have wanted to do that for many many years myself...wish I could too. I always wanted to make a drag strip diorama with a working tree and a working or chasing light marque sign or two.
  23. That would be great to see out.
