Thanks gents! ...you all just made it better for me. Group is still needing help but still fighting to keep it going...Ill send you a photo of one I took to the local antique mall to buy him a kit that was there....just need your e-mail....maybe you could post it under the thread or? Mark
Id like to find the stuff to build these...
Rockfords Firebird
Chevy custom ambulance from(mother juggs and speed) movie
007 James bond ones
Pontiac Sprint from the (7 ups)
Rubber Duck truck from Convoy
Mad Max interceptor and panel and police cars
and more.
That is GREAT to hear Clyde!....if you ever need help again ask Ill help if I can...think its great others do things like this for people/kids...there our future.
we have always treated our pets as full members of the family here...there welcome to sleep in bed, lounge with us,etc...they are members of our family.
I agree with you 100% Steve...trying to paint over some of the colors is tough to do and no loose all the detail...been there done that. Now if its a factory color its not so bad depending on what the builder has in mind for the build...by far I find that white plastic is the easiest color to paint over with which ever color one wants to....yep Johan had some oddball colors they were molded in but I still loved them just like there snap or promo like kits....love them.
Id love to help but cant at this present time.... but I applaud you for doing this for them. I have my own group I am trying to keep going too...its never easy.
I am lucky Tom...very blessed to be able to get a hold of his old collection and those childhood days of building with him when he could which was not much. Its my goal to get his old collection restored someday...hopefully.
Man does that ring a bell John....I have what is left of my dads old collection I have been trying to restore once the needed parts can be found for them....I can still see him working on some of them from back in the days of my childhood...priceless memories.
Anyone remember the old kits with the ink stamped 99 cents or 1.50 stamped on the boxes?....one of the reasons I love old boxes they bring back great memories of better days.
Many years ago I worked at a full service gas station that also served semi truck....winter sanding in the blizzard conditions filling up those big tanks ended up looking like a snowman when full.
