Thank you Ray! This was something I had noticed after I had taken photos of the Impala and had corrected, but I never took any additional photos since then. Since you had pointed this out, I'll post another photo of the rear of my Impala 409.

Thank you and please do make your suggestion heard, Ray

Since it's raining out and the paint booth is full of parts to be painted (it's also my photobooth), I took some pictures on the bench.

Thanks Jim! I know this is Under Glass, but I am making improvements and I am almost done. The next set of pictures will be of the final completed model. This morning I took my Spenser's Mustang GT apart and removed the headlights. While the headlights were out, I took my Molotow Liquid Chrome Pen and chromed the Mustang emblem on the grille. I removed the silver paint from the lenses, applied a coating of Tamiya X-22 Gloss Clear and installed the headlight picture. I applied a coating of Gloss Clear to the outside of the lenses and when the clear has dried I'll install the lenses into the body. More to come...

I recently picked up the Lindberg '61 Impala SS 409 kit sealed for $10.00 from a fellow Classic Plastic Model Club member. That now brings me to seven Chevy model kits in the stash. I suppose I have to have at least one bubble top Chevy!

Actually, if you read the novels, Hawk was very partial to Jaguars and owned an XJ6 or XJ12. In the TV series, he drove a black BMW 635 CSI in the first season and a white BMW 635 CSI in the second and third seasons (probably repainted). In one movie, he drove a black Jaguar XJ6. But, then again, we are talking about "what-ifs" and Hawk could drive a Bentley or some other high-end (read expensive) luxury sedan. Currently in the novels, Spenser is driving a Ford Explorer!

I had composed a page of headlights for my 2015 Ford Mustang GT and replaced the silver painted lenses with something that looks more like headlights. I plan on doing the same with Spenser's 2015 Mustang GT! I just need to remove the headlight lenses from the body, remove the silver paint and apply the pictures of the headlights behind the lenses. Stay tuned! More to come...

Thank you Marty and Chris! I downloaded both plates and I should be able to resize them in Microsoft Word, no problem! And the least hurt? That was the Blue Devil Corvette that was started on its own and was driven out of the Museum under its own power, but had a massive oil leak. It seems as though Ted deleted his posting here and I wonder why? Was it because I don't build dioramas or what?

When I completed my Spenser's 2015 Ford Mustang GT, I really didn't care for the headlights as they were painted silver from the factory and stood out like a sore thumb. After a bit of thought, I wanted to try removing the silver paint from the healight lenses and add a picture of the 2015 Mustang headlights behind them. I searched Google Images for "2017 Ford Mustang GT Competition Orange" pictures came up with two that were taken at the same angles by the same photographer. I sized the headlights on Microsoft Word at .75 X .25 and printed them out. In the process of removing the silver paint, I broke one of the headlights off. I decided to keep them instead of creating my own lenses. Using Tamiya X-22 Gloss Clear, I coated the inside of the lens and appiled the headlight picture and let that set up for a few minutes before adding a coat of clear to the outside of the lens. I think they came out pretty good. I'll have to update my Spenser's 2015 Ford Mustang GT with the headlight lenses. More to come...

Sorry Ted, but I don't build dioramas. Feel free to build one if you like!

Yep, that's the one!

Thank you Jim! I like this color so much that I went out an got another can of this paint for future projects!

Thanks Randy, Jim, and Mitch! Thank you Mitch for the photos! This is the first Corvette that I have built in quite a while, so I hope it turns out very well! I think the Museum officals said that all but two of the Corvettes can be repaired/restored. The Mallet Hammer is completely destroyed and will not be restored.

Looks great so far! I have this kit as well, Randy and I am thinking of getting the Model Car Garage P/E set and building an 1984 version with the reversed paint scheme.

I got the engine partially assembled and painted this morning with Chevrolet Engine Red. I painted the other engine parts with Model Master Aluminium Plate. When these are dry, then I'll coat them with sealer. More to come...

I got the Mustang painted with Tamiya TS-31 Bright Orange including the rear valance. More to come...

Thank you Jim! The Story McNally knows of a warehouse that Jack Simcole uses from time to time and heads there with the hope of finding Tate Bodderan there. He arrives at the warehouse and walks into the Employee entrance which leads into the warehouse itself and starts wandering around with his Smith & Wesson Model 4506 and a flashlight drawn. Suddenly two shots ring out and one shot hits the wall behind him and the other hits a stack of empty pallets. He sees a person running in the opposite direction that he presumes is Tate who runs towards the receiving dock and a man door to the outside. McNally runs through the door after Tate and down an alley which leads to a deadend. Tate stops and turns around to shoot at McNally who has already stopped and is aiming his gun at Tate and squeezes off two rounds at the assassin hitting him in the chest. McNally runs over to the body and kicks Tate's gun away and feels his neck for a pulse. He then stands up and pulls his cellphone from his pocket calling Det. Lt. Troy of Homicide telling him of his situation. The Build I repainted the Challenger this morning and it looks really good! I'll let this dry for a while and start polishing and then masking for the trim. McNally will return...

I started out by chroming the wheel surfaces with a Molotow Liquid Chrome pen yesterday afternoon. This morning I drilled out some disc brakes from the 2010 Mustang snap kit so they could fit over the hubs of the 2015 Mustang wheels. I masked off the rear valance and primered it in prep for Tamiya TS-31 Bright Orange paint. I washed the body this morning and let air-dry in prep for primer and Tamiya TS-31 Bright Orange paint. More to come...

Thanks Cameron for the info. Thank you Joe! I may have not sanded the moldlines thoroughly enough to get rid of them completely. Like I said, I think the hot paint brought them out as a result of incomplete sanding. I washed the body this morning and will let it air-dry completely before adding any more coats of paint.

Thank you everyone! This came out really nice, even though I usually build Mopars or Fords. Chevys are a different kind of challenge for me.

Thank you guys! This was a different kind of build for me. A snap kit can be a different kind of build and detailing challenge. I've started another 2015 Mustang GT snap kit because I enjoyed this one!

Well, I just couldn't help myself! I had a second 2015 Mustang kit sitting around just calling me by name and telling me how I should build it. Since my Spenser's 2015 Mustang GT came out so well, I blew the second Mustang apart and started sanding the moldlines off the body. I added the rear spoiler from a 2010 Mustang GT to the rear deck. I changed the wheels to the 2010 Mustang wheels, but that may change. The interior floor will be flocked with embossing powder and the body will be painted with either Tamiya Bright Orange or Testors Competition Orange and I'll see what I have left for decals. More to come...

The Story McNally calls Lt. Durassie of Burglary Division at home and wakes him up. Lt. Durassie recalls the case, but doesn't know the whereabouts of the small-time hood that is also known as Jack Simcole. McNally apologizes for waking the Lieutenant at that late hour and let's him go back to sleep. McNally's informant, Zachy calls and he tells McNally that the contract had come out of no-where and was untraceable, but was immediately picked up by an assassin from South Boston by the name of Tate Bodderan. Tate is a good assassin, but still very much a small-time killer of low level people. The Build After looking over the body, I found mold lines that the hot paint had brought out and I decided to sand them out. This was the worst of the mold lines and required sanding down to the plastic to remove it. Now it's back to the paint booth for another respray! McNally will return...

On February 12, 2014 at 5:44 AM, a massive sinkhole opened up under the floor of the Skydome at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Ky. Eight Corvettes were swallowed up by the sinkhole and it took several weeks for all eight cars to be recovered. The last Corvette to be recovered was completely destroyed. It was a privately owned 2001 Z06 Corvette modified by a company called Mallett Cars, Inc. and was known as the Mallett Hammer. It was not an historic car, but still, it was a special one. My build will be of the third Corvette to be recovered from the sinkhole...a Tuxedo Black 1962 Corvette with a red interior. It took engineers several days to remove that particular car since it had several huge pieces of concrete on the nose of that car. While the damage to that Corvette didn’t look that bad, it was determined that General Motors would not be able to restore that Corvette without the help of a private restoration expert due to its age. A feature that Corvette had was a removable hardtop that is not in my kit, so it will be built without one and built as a “before” vehicle using the Revell 1962 Corvette Roadster kit #85-4277. My paint will be Tamiya TS-14 Gloss Black body with Model Master Insignia Red interior. More to come...
