  1. I do see myself as a supporter by steering others who don't have a photohosting site to Photobucket. I've been doing this for years. I also realize that what I am doing doesn't generate any monetary income for them, just giving them another member who may or may not pay them for their service. This all comes at a time when my funds are low and I don't have the $400 for them to continue hosting my pictures for a year. This whole thing has made me angry and I am trying to adjust, and yes, vent a little bit here.
  2. After 12 years of being a loyal Photobucket user, they want me to fork over $400 a year for the ability to be able to post my model car pictures on this or any other forum or website. I am retired and I cannot afford this kind of extortion! I'll find another free photohosting site and post my pictures from there. I won't be reposting my pictures from the new site since I have been a member here for 8 years and it would be a monumental task. I want to tell PB my displeasure with their actions, but they don't have any working links to customer support or service. I understand that they are a business, but when you offer a free photohosting service, you don't go and pull the rug out from under your supporters. OK, I'll get off my soapbox now.
  3. Thanks Jeremy! It's coming along slowly and I have to get this off the bench soon!
  4. Thanks Ron and Steve! Steve, I have the engine completed and installed into the chassis so I won't by wiring it and I am going with the fuel injection unit. Smoothed out the first couple of coats of paint and applied two more coats. More to come...
  5. The Story A while later, McNally comes to lying on the cold concrete floor. With his good eye open he looks out through the cell bars while trying to sit up against the cell bunk and he sees Chief Banning leaning against the wall holding a bag of ice over his knuckles. "You've got a hard head, but you need to tell me why you were talking to the Tate's," says the Chief. Again McNally says what he said two days ago, "I ain't tellin' you nuthin' coppa'!" Chief Banning kicks the cell door and walks out of the cell block. The Build With the exception of touchups, the chassis is complete. Since the Bronco comes with a trailer hitch, I went and drilled a hole and inserted a ball head pin with the pin shaft cut down for a hitch ball. What's a trailer hitch without a trailer hitch ball?!!! McNally will return...
  6. Don't worry Jeremy! Chief Banning will get what he deserves!
  7. I finally got around to giving the Sinkhole Corvette a coat of Tamiya TS-14 Black. I have more coats to apply later. More to come...
  8. The Story Once again the Chief comes into McNally's cell and again he beats on the Boston PI. Blows to the face and the body and again he is asked, "Why are you talking to the Tate's?" And, he still refuses to answer. The beatings go on for 10 more minutes and then the Chief leaves the cell with McNally lying on the cold concrete floor. The Build Now that the humidity has gone, I decided to paint the Bronco. This time with Tamiya TS-10 French Blue. McNally will return...
  9. Looking good! I have this kit and I'm thinking about making it the '84 version with the reversed paint scheme and using the photoetch parts from Model Car Garage. Looking forward to more!
  10. The seats will not be painted, but clearcoated with semi-gloss clear. In some cases, why paint white when the white plastic will do? I only paint white if the shade of white is different, ie. darker or lighter. I happen to like the color of this white plastic and clearcoating with semi gloss clear will give me the sheen I am looking for.
  11. I'm looking forward to the sidecar races! Those guys are just NUTS!!!
  12. Thanks Jeremy! I've gotta get the Bronco into primer and paint so I can try out my new dehydrator!
  13. A moment of opportunity to work on the Sinkhole Corvette! I'm still finding mold lines that I have to contend with especially on the nose of the '62 Corvette! The mold line runs from headlight to headlight between the Corvette letters and the Corvette emblem and I don't want to risk losing those details. My friend and fellow Classic Plastic Model Club member Paul suggested that I use a piece of tape and cover the scripts so I wouldn't accidentally sand off those scripts. Looks like it did the trick! I think I have gotten most, if not all of the mold lines. Classic Plastic Model Club member John aka GASSER#1 gave me the hardtop for the Corvette so I can complete this model. Thank you John! More to come...
  14. The Story The following morning, McNally is pulled off the bunk and onto the cold concrete floor of the jail cell. He looks up and sees the Police Chief's face with his right eye and he is hammered a few more times across the face. The Chief picks him up off the floor and hits McNally several times in the stomach and again in the face. He asks McNally why he is talking to the Tate's and McNally again declines to answer. The Chief hits McNally really hard in the stomach and the Boston PI falls to the cold concrete floor again. It's really difficult to defend yourself when your hands are tied behind your back. The Build Another mockup. The engine has been wired, wheel covers are on, and the decals have been applied to the seats. The spare tire carrier needs a clamp to hold the carrier from swinging outward so I found a piece of plastic for part of the clamp assembly. The spare tire has the extra set of black letter decals applied and this will get a coat of semi gloss clear. McNally will return...
  15. Thanks Scott! I'm glad that you are enjoying the build and the story. First and foremost, I am not a professional writer, so the stories are short and yes, a little cliched. The responses to my stories have been positive and I do enjoy writing them. It helps keep my mind going during my retirement.
  16. This Bronco is a nice kit inspite of its small flaws. One of the things I noticed was the lack of a clamp bracket for the spare tire carrier. Having owned a '83 Bronco II with the outside spare tire, the carrier was locked in position with a clamp that was mounted to the tailgate and this kit does not have one. I guess I'll be making one with some sheet styrene and mounting it to the tailgate.
  17. Is there anyone showing that race in English?
  18. The Story McNally comes to lying on the cold jail cell floor. He has no idea of what time it is, but he figures that it must be nighttime as there is no light coming in through the tiny window located at the top of the jail cell wall near the ceiling. The light fixture is on, but the bulb must be about 40 watts and somewhat dim. His left eye is swollen shut and his body and face is very much in pain from the beating he took from the Police Chief. He pulls himself up off the cold cell floor and eases himself onto the cot that is anchored to the wall and lies down. He soon passes out again from the pain. The Build I taped the roof to the body so I could attach the windshield frame and set the frame angle. I assembled the back seat and roll bar and mocked up the interior. McNally will return...
  19. I am enjoying the story SFD! Looking forward to more story and build!
  20. Thanks Jeremy! I've seen many Broncos with the rear fenders cutout for bigger tires and I suppose that's ok for those who want a bigger wheel and tire. I seem to prefer the stock fenders and i knew there had to be a way to keep the fenders stock and the wheel and tire under it. I need to paint the body parts and since I am using enamel, I am a bit relunctant to move ahead since it does take enamel paint a very long time to dry. I should ask my friend Paul if I could use his dehydrator.
  21. That is one sharp looking Nova COPO!!! Great job Jeremy!
