One step at a time. Take a brush with chrome silver paint and brush it on the taillights and let it set up for a few minutes. Take an alcohol wipe and remove the paint from the raised surfaces and let it dry completely. Take some clear red and brush it over the taillights and let it set up and wipe off the raised surfaces with an alcohol wipe and you are done. It shouldn't take you that long to do. Thanks Garry!

It has been over 2 1/2 weeks since I paid any attention to the Stumptown Mustang GT. I applied the Tamiya X-27 Clear Red over the Tamiya X-11 Chrome Silver and after it had set up for a few minutes, I used an alcohol swab on the taillights and removed the extra Clear Red. Worked pretty good! Dex Parios will return...

I was inspired to add a hood scoop to the Pace Car, but the hood scoop is white plastic and the body and hood of the Pace Car is red plastic. Should I pre-paint the hood scoop red and then add it to the Pace Car hood and then paint the whole kit and kaboodle red? I know that the red color of the plastic with leak through. I want to paint the Pace Car a matching red to hide the swirl marks and join line of the red plastic.

Here are some pictures of my '94 Mustang GT Coupe. They appear to be the same ride height and assembly procedures. More Pace Car to come...

Thanks Jeremy! The 1:1 Spenser For Hire Mustang GT was t-boned in an accident while filming for a Ford commercial. The remains were crushed.

Thanks Michael! The styling was to be influenced by Japanese cars, but still have an American flavor to them. At least that is what I had read somewhere back then.

Thanks Dirk! This Mustang Pace Car is a neat looking vehicle. I have the Revell '99 Cobra in the stash and I added the shaker hood scoop to the kit. I have seen a couple of 2003-2004 Mustang Mach 1 over the years and the hood scoop looks interesting.

I had a little time this afternoon before the thunderstorms hit the area and I assembled the 5.0 Liter engine. I even had time to drill the cylinder heads for plug wires. Now for some grey paint even if the instructions call for flat black. The dog had to go out and when the thunder clapped, he came running back into the house! More Pace Car to come...

Thank you for the tip, but Tamiya Pink Primer still doesn't interest me. Sorry.
-
No, I haven't. Tamiya's Pink Primer doesn't interest me.

Thanks Jonathan and Rex! Nice Cobras, Rex! I took most of the parts to the sink for a bath with a scrub brush and Dawn Dish Detergent and I placed them to dry in my paintbooth.

I was going to wait until I had finished my Stumptown Mustang GT to post this, but it's hot out and I really don't want to go outside. So here it is! My new project is the 1994 Ford Mustang GT Pace Car! I picked this kit up from an auction of kits belonging to someone for $5 and I wondered how I should build it. My build will be of a stock Pace Car and I have to go down to my LHS for paint to match the body molded in red. Oh Joy! More red plastic to cope with! I have a yellow SN195 Mustang that I built years ago for reference if I need it. More Pace Car to come...

1997 Dodge Caravan LE
mrmike replied to mrmike's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Sorry! My bad for posting this WIP in the wrong section. I should have known better! The Story McNally sees Teresa park in front of his house and he opens the door and welcomes her in. She tells him about Jack Tirana and how he is harassing her. She wants Jack to go away and leave her and her kids alone and to stop stalking them. McNally tells Teresa that he will do what he can to get Jack to stop harassing and stalking her and her kids. He asks her about Jack and where he lives and works. Jack Tirana lives in Roxbury and works at Tonnawerks, Inc. in that town and McNally will drive over to Tonnawerks and stake out the building and Jack and sees where he goes during the day. The Build Before turning in, I washed the body, chassis and interior bucket of the Caravan last night. Primer and paint are next. McNally will return... -
Looks great Jim! I should get back to mine some day!

My new project is Lindberg's Dodge Caravan. I plan on building this stock without any of the Police bits. This also includes the return of McNally, Boston PI in "A Mother's Anguish." All people in this story are not related to anyone living or deceased. The Build My kit is of the Lindberg Dodge Caravan kit no. 72184 and it will be painted with MCW Seafoam Turquoise Metallic and built stock. The Story Teresa Hallis had been dating Jack Tirana for almost three weeks. She was happy at first for almost a week, but that ended rather quickly. Jack started to “stop by” for extended visits. He would make demands of Teresa and her kids, John Jr. and Molly. He wanted to move in with her after two weeks of sporadic dating. Teresa finally stood up to Jack and told him to stop bothering her and her family and never to contact them again. That lasted less than a week and he was back to bothering her again. Jack swore that he loved her and he wanted to be with her, but Teresa didn’t want any part of him and she was starting to dislike him very much. This morning, she drove her kids to school in her 1997 Dodge Caravan and told the Principal that she was having problems with someone and for her children to remain in school and not to release them to anybody except her and she would have to find a solution to her problem. Teresa then drives into Charlestown to see the one person that she can totally trust to stop the harassment from Jack Tirana…McNally, Boston PI. McNally will return...

Thank you David! I have finished my '53 Chevy Bel Air and it is posted in Under Glass. I would like to thank all who have viewed and commented on my WIP.

This is my '53 Chevy Bel Air painted by Tim Rhine of the Classic Plastic Model Club with Model Master White Lightning and Model Master Mystical Maroon and I painted the interior with Model Master Flame Red and assembled with Zimmermanz Wheels and Tires, Bare Metal Foil and my custom license plate. The interior features a custom reverb under the radio and a 3-speed floor shifter.
-
I Superglued the wheel backs to the Zimmermanz wheels and tires. I finished painting and assembling the interior. More Bel Air to come...
-
While the silver spray paint is drying on the seats, I sprayed some Model Master White Lightning Lacquer into a cup and using a fine tip brush, I tried to lessen the black panel lines that Tim Rhine used on the '53 Chevy body. Came out pretty good. More Bel Air to come...
-
I wanted to repaint the seating surfaces of the interior, but to block the red from showing through, I must paint the surface black, then silver and then white like I want it. More Bel Air to come...
-
Thanks should go to Tim Rhine as he painted the body and then he decided to give me the model.
