Thanks Jeremy, Steve, David and Carl!

I worked on the chassis today and during a test fit of the body and the chassis, I discovered that the Corvette induction system I was using wouldn't fit. I pulled the induction system and the valve cover off and replaced them with the custom pieces from the kit. I also completed the dash minus the custom reverb which I will install later. More Bel Air to come...

I hear you Carl! My hands are not as steady as they were. I painted the entire section on my Spenser Mustang GT just one color, but I decided to try and paint the louvers separately on the Stumptown Mustang GT. The good news is that alcohol doesn't affect dried Tamiya paint and it removed the fresh Tamiya silver from the raised surfaces. I may add another coat of silver paint to the louvers, let it dry and then add the clear red paint.

Thank you, guys! I had an issue with the rear bumper which separated at the rear fender sides but not at the trunk edge. I would repair it properly, but I didn't want to take the model apart. I'll leave it for now.

It took me a couple of tries at this and it was a while to do. I painted the taillights with Tamiya X-11 Chrome Silver paint. It may take me a while to do with Tamiya X-27 Clear Red. Dex Parios will return...

I painted the interior with Model Master Flame Red Lacquer. Now to let this gas out and flatten a bit. More Bel Air to come...

I have completed my Mercedes-Benz AMG GT and it is posted in Under Glass. I would like to thank all those who have taken the time to view and to comment on my WIP.

This is my Mercedes-Benz AMG GT painted with Gravity Colors Spain AMG Solarbeam Yellow with a Tamiya TS-6 Matt Black and Tamiya Tamiya TS-48 Gunship Grey interior. Built box stock.

I have been looking at the headlights for Dex's Mustang GT and I started wondering about how to go about painting them. I do want them to look realistic, but I couldn't remember where I saw the painting guide. With necessity being the mother of invention, I started by painting the directionals and the fog lights with Tamiya X-26 Clear Orange. This morning I was looking at the headlights and I thought that maybe some Tru-Color TCP-013 Aluminium paint would take away all of that chrome and I thought that it looked pretty good. Then I dry-brushed some Aluminium paint over the fog lights to dull the Clear Orange and I liked that as well. Dex Parios will return...

Thanks Michael! I'm sure I can find a solution.

I am heading for the finish line with my Mercedes-Benz AMG GT. I had an issue with the rear bumper cover as it was reglued several times with tape holding the bumper on during the drying process and then expanding a little along the fender edges. Not sure how I'm going to fix it. Something to think about. More AMG GT to come...

Thanks Dirk and Carl! Yeah, the Stumptown Mustang GT was pushed towards the back of the bench to make room for another project. I'm trying to pull it back to the front of the bench and work on it when I can.
-
It's still on the bench, but I haven't paid as much attention to it like I should.

Having ignored the Stumptown Mustang GT for a while, I decided to do a mockup to see how the wheels and tires would look like. Not bad! Dex Parios will return...

I went and installed the body and interior onto the chassis, but it looks like I forgot something...the rear view mirror assembly! This took me a while to do since I have yet to install the windows and the mirror assembly didn't want to fit over the two prongs like it should. I must have made a mess of the interior roof. More AMG GT to come...

I've been working on the AMG GT. I added the front and rear clips, headlights, taillights and the carbon fiber roof decal. It may be light and strong, but I hate carbon fiber! More AMG GT to come...

I thought it was intimidating at first, but that all disappeared when I started painting. It is just paint when used properly. You have to be mindful of air brush pressures and air brush spraying techniques.

Thanks Carl! I have to give thanks to my friend Paul for supplying me with this fantastic paint!

Underhood detail is done and the nose is on. First, it was drawn out in paint and then I added the decals. More AMG GT to come...

Very nice! But, an automatic shifter with a manual transmission? I did say the model is very nice!
