Thanks Carl! Filling the gaps with the red Sharpie worked and I am very pleased! Tomorrow I'll polish the paint!

Thanks Dann! To fill the gaps where the paint ran away, I found a red Sharpie that is close to the Pure Red I used and sharpened the tip and I traced the door openings. Now for a polishing with Novus 2 to see what I got.

I clearcoated my Mini Cooper and I am for the most part, not happy! I washed, air-dryed, primered and painted the Mini and when I clearcoated the body, the paint ran away from the door edges. Arrgh! More Mini to come...

It seems as though this Mini Cooper model is fighting me! I went and scratch-built seat belt receivers to go with the seat belt decals. Then, the steering wheel and column fell out. I have rebuilt the right front suspension since it broke (my fault) and I wonder what is next! Clear coating the body is next and hopefully I won't screw that up!

In case you may have been wondering, I have not abandoned my Blasphemi project. With the passing of a member of the Classic Plastic Model Club, I have a need to work on Blasphemi and finish it for our Expo in October. Our late member had a love for '55 Chevys and the goal is for me to finish mine for our Show. I assembled the wheels and tires which came from my parts box. The Hemi engine is partially assembled and awaiting to be painted. I hand painted some of the chrome parts including the grille which I know to be incorrect. I have to get some PE material for the grille. More Blasphemi to come...

Thanks Matt, Noel, Carl, D. Schittenhelm and David! I must admit that this Mini Cooper is going together faster than I thought it would. Time to add some additional details!

A mockup to check my work. Other than the fit of the hood (bonnet), everything looks good! The hood fit can use some adjustment. More Mini to come...

A little time this afternoon at the paintbooth! I painted the body and other pieces with Tamiya TS-86 Pure Red, the roof with Tamiya TS-26 Pure White, A second coat for the interior platform with Tamiya TS-29 Semi Gloss Black. Now to let this dry and maybe a couple of coats of Tamiya TS-13 Gloss Clear to be added. More Mini to come...

Thanks Randy! Thanks for the history lesson, Noel!

I finally got some Tamiya Grey Fine Surface Prime on the Mini chassis and I installed the engine. I painted the interior floor with Tamiya TS-29 Semi Gloss Black and the body parts got a coat of Tamiya White Fine Surface Primer. More Mini to come...

Volkswagen T2 Bus

Thank you David! -
Thanks guys! I think one of the things that people see on a Mini are the small wheels and tires then the car size itself. At least, I do.

The engine has been assembled and ready to be installed in the chassis...when I get that built! I must say that this engine went together very well and I haven't lost any parts yet! These parts are tiny! More Mini to come...

Thank you Mario, Mike and Larry! Thanks Mario! I applied the whitewall decals and clearcoated them and let them dry. I installed the tires onto the wheels and a couple of decals came apart. I tried to fix the missing parts with my white Gelly Roll pen. The repair is really not that good. -
This is my Volkswagen T2 Bus painted with Tamiya TS-26 Pure White and orange kit plastic. I have whitewall tires, Hurst Lockout Shifter, dual tailpipes, inside mounted spare tire and side markers.

Thanks Carl! The VW Bus is almost finished. I just need to clean it up and give it a light polish. Completed pictures are posted in Under Glass. I would like to than all those who have taken the time to view and comment on my WIP. -
Thanks Randy and Andrew!

At this point, I go back to the instructions looking for bits and pieces that I may have missed or would want to add later in the build. I found 4 clear lenses on sprue I and I determined that they are the side markers. There are no holes in the body from these and their placement can be verified with a side view of the VW Bus. I think I will add these a little later in the build. -
Thanks guys! I couldn't say since I have never seen the Tamiya kit up close. I started with assembly of the basic engine and I painted some of the parts needed for it with PollyS Dark Green. I also painted some pieces with gold, stainless steel, flat and semi gloss black. The wheels got a coating of flat white around the rims. I'll coat this with gloss clear in a few days. More Mini to come...

I have been picking away at the Volkswagen Bus. I installed the interior lights, the mudflaps with decals, the owners manual on the passenger seat and the trailer hitch, receiver and lights plug receptacle. More Volkswagen to come... -
As my Volkswagen project winds down, my new project is the Revell Original Mini Cooper and while this kit has 128 pieces, this car is tiny when compared to the current modern Revell Mini Cooper which had less pieces when I built it many years ago. I plan on painting this Mini Tamiya TS-86 Pure Red with a Tamiya TS-26 Pure White roof. If I can scare up the materials, I may try to produce a Union Jack roof decal for this Mini. Other than the roof decal and maybe some engine wiring, this model will be built OOB. More Mini Cooper to come...
