  1. Yep, entirely. But the waiting has paid off, cause it looks great ! Good luck with the pinstriping cant wait to see it
  2. My adhd must be kicking in again ;D. Building the Polar Lights 70 Blue Max as part of a facebook group build off. Nothing real fancy, added sparkplug wires and the injectors been drilled for fuel lines but thats about all I plan to add to this one but we"ll see. Not a lot of updates because I didn't really think about taking pics till most of the chassis and motor were done. Still have to put the front end together the rear end on, do the plumbing and wetsand, polish and decal the body.paint is some Dupont custom mixed blue with a little candy blue in the clear coat to darken it up a little.
  3. 3 or so mm taken out of the roof, back window was laid forward till the rear qtr windows lined up. suspension was modified a bit to get it lower, custom exhausts from the Revell merc more here http://s1188.photobucket.com/user/doorslammerfan/library/other%20builds
  4. exhaust isnt quite hooked up yet but then it may never be
  5. thanks Bill, aint nothing compared to your cuda though , painted the headliner, installed glass, visors int mirror etc etc last night and installed floor/chassis for the last time. Couple things to note if you're gonna lower one of these... The frame rail behind/above the diff has to be modified to clear the pumpkin , the floor plate gets wider at final fitting and you're sure the bodys gonna snap before it fits in place and thirdly the front brakes push the wheels out hard against the body but removing anything means taking the chassis out again, so I'll live with it this time cause I aint fitting that again. Oh also you have to aling the exhaust manifolds exactly or the keep breaking off and I at least cant fit them while the engines in place, that said still have headlights, bumpers ,grille, battery and side mirrors to go, also wanting to put the custom exhaust pipes from the revell merc on somehow
  6. ok thanks John, good to know, not a genre I dabble in
  7. Thanks guys, really appreciate the nice comments. was wondering when you were gonna raise that Jim .The next one will be shiny. Haven't got the kit yet but wheels and colors have been chosen. why did half my post disappear?
  8. thanks guys , most of the shiny stuffs attached and I started on the interior the mexican blanket actually has no sheen to it at all so the camera flash is lying, gloss blacked all the lug nuts tonight so will try alclading them (with a brush) tomorrow
  9. Very cool Doc, your decals look great , the whole car is very striking
  10. Thanks guys, got it foiled but no pics yet . I do use Tamiya putty as a finishing filler, most of my body work is done with styrene and super glue with baking soda. I dont seem to have a lot of success with the Tamiya cement but it does soften styrene filler pieces pretty good.
  11. thanks Chris, Got the black on ( a nice satin ), you'll have to imagine the roof as its still taped up at the moment, I think once its been foiled and chrome installed it'll look chithot man I did have a backup colour to go over the black but as it came out just as I envisaged it, it aint gonna happen.
  12. Jim, candy Tangerine with a little bit of clear orange in the clear coat, not too sure of what brands as ours are packaged a bit differently down under. Hope this helps a bit
  13. thanks guys gonna do the steel wheels the same colour

always wanted to something a little different with this kit so am Merging it with the old Revell pro street Corvette. Haven't really done anything other than assemble the "j"s front and and sat it on the vette chassis for wheelbase fit
  18. like I needed another project got this out and was having a look at it and the roof fell off !! :o somehow about 3mm fell off all the pillars so then I had to line em all back up haven't decided much about anything else yet including color though I was thinking flat black with a bright metallic roof
