One thing that I will give BNSF over UP ( Please do not take this wrong UP fans) is that BNSF has left a lot of engines in the original colors. I see a lot of Yellow and Blue as well as Red and Silver war bonnets, and green BN units on a regular basis. Union Pacific took over a lot of my favorite road names such as Rock Island and Southern Pacific. UP has thier Heritage Units but are very fast in painting units. I think there is only one Denver and Rio Grande left, one CN&W, and soon SP will face it too. -
Thanks Harry

Nice work work so far. I have always loved the boxy style S-10 and GMC S-15 styles. The Syclone was out of this world and the Typoon. Syclone actually beat a Ferrari Testarossa on an oval track in one of the old magazines. I'm watching

Harry I have to say that being part of this community gives me the confidence now. My skills have grown more in a year than my entire growing up I was never able to get the older cars of this era to fit right and my enemy was the kind with the head lights on the chrome bar. Like my Speed Wagon.. see no headlights But I have learned from so many that now I know tricks to avoid the mistakes.

I like the leather idea, maybe a saddle color.. or black. I need to look at some tractor pics again.

I'm a little late to the party since I finished my pool truck and had my meeting Saturday so here is how it looks on Sunday.

My little dunk tank for stripping chrome is a small cotton candy container. I went to the cooking section of WalMart and found a 3 piece strainer set. I heated up the handle on the size that fits in the cup. The screw helps hold the strainer in place so parts don't sink to the bottom and when I pull it out I can remove the strainer with all the parts. Poor mans way of making it easy

Thats the first part of it. I see your point too. I am planning on making the interior something like tri-color. Still working the interior in my head. So far this is about 4 hours of work

I got these at my club meeting last night. The hat I thought was cool since it's Pikes Peak and the Bigfoot from my buddy Toby ( MudPit602 ).

Hey everybody. I decided to show you all my next main project. GoodGuys edition 1923 T-Bucket. I normally have horrible luck with 20's and 30's cars and have not touched one in a very long time. So I decided to go with a theme on this car and I want to thank Highway for the decals. I figured John Deere would be cool since this car has a trailer. Through the pics I wanted to show th removal of the lettering on the interior. This is a heads up for anyone with the kit. The seat does NOT hide all of the copyright lettering. Next I also show stripping the chrome wheels in Westleys Bleach White as I will color code them. Comments always welcome and enjoy

I personally can't stand the real ones but I won't let that stop me from complimenting you on a very clean and well done kit. Paint and detail look very good. Did you open the doors or was that kit already that way? Very cool touch to put your niece's name on it. Looks good! Never knew Revell made one.

This is one of my all time favorite classics and you did a Great job on it!

I was trying to make up my mind on door or a rear window logo. Most guys I know around here that are independant driver have magnets or a rear window logo. As far as DOT placards goes you actually you only need those if you are dealing with chlorine gas. I carried tabs, muratic acid, liquid chlorine, shock, soda ash, sodium bicarb, salt, and more and was not required to have placards. Funny enough though if a truck with my set up was in a crash like last monday on the news then its a Hazmat situation. Now when I got into the buisness I worked for 2 companies that used chlorine gas and that was crazy. I do NOT miss that stuff. Not to mention the fact that I needed a CDL to drive a Toyota Tacoma and a Nissan Frontier

Interests outside of model cars?

I was looking for a picture of my drums and one thing I should share that has become a new passion of mine is photography. I have been playing around with my camera which is ok but not the best. Here are a small handful of pics I like. It was pouring hard when I took the first set of Train pics. Last pic is my drums. -
Thanks Every one for the kind support! I think i have more comments here than on the workbench It feels good to have one done that I'm actually happy with. Oh and since Jon said "real" I figured I'd share this picture where I was trying the ol John Teresi idea trying to make it look real.

Aren't you done with this yet? Geez Just kidding Rom, Just sayin hiya and checking your awesome updates -
My Main way of buying goes as this order: As brought up before is the big shows. Here in Az we have the Desert Scale Classic model show and that local has several model kit swapmeets as well. 2nd is my local club. A lot of guys bring a lot of kits and most are less than $10. Next is a couple of local hobby shops or general collectible stores. Anyone in AZ better get to gordon's before he closes at the end of the year. Dirt cheap kits. Last is Ebay if I do not find what I want through the other channels. Toy shows have kits too sometimes. Oh and I have bought kits off of Craigslist.

Hey everyone. I don't think this is my best work at all by far and I messed up stuff like the windows and have a bad camber on one wheel. If I fix the wheel the truck won't sit flat on the table. Anyway, I scratched a lot on this. The pool brush, net, pole, chlorine bucket, all scratch. The vac hose is wire. I also scratched the Tool box in the bed. I did have fun making this truck and it's not something done often. Hope you like it and as always comments are welcome good or constructive
