Railfreak78 replied to buck smallwood's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My workspace is actually a huge hobby room loft. My roomate (Mudpit602 (Toby) and I share paints tools and products. He has a few models and a few collectables however everything else non model thats up now is mine. I just moved so this room is not fully set up yet but it's multi functional with Models, HO scale trains, Hot Wheels, and my Nascar collection. I also have 3 Rats that sit next to me and watch me This is installment 1.... -
Crud I don't know if they are going to fit. I'll just make this one I guess and hope it fits yours Maybe post a pic of yours so I can see the car? I do not remember what company made this one but it was a green R/T on the box. I want to say Revell but I might be wrong. Or send me yours and I'll do yours.

The grill and hood. As I wont have one for mine when I ship them to you lol.

That is sick! You should check out my suburban in the post apoc build. If you have any build up pics you can enter the build i'm sure Great job! I love the rust.
-
I'll tell you what bud. I'll make the grill and even the hood and if you like it we can trade? I only have one kit and I am rebuilding it. If your happy with it maybe I can get your stock stuff. If not keep em both as I may need parts in the future whatcha think? Here is a pic of the one that was good but I was not happy so I tore it down..

I cleaned pools for over 3 years here in the heat of Phoenix. My wife ( whom I thank god for putting up with my hobby ) and I started our own company but basically gave up with the times being slow. I wanted to represent a truck that I would actually do a route with. Thanks for looking, this will be a longer build as I have to scratch build all the tools and chemical buckets and such. Enjoy!

<~~~~~~~~ NOT TOUCHING THAT ONE WITH THE CANNON ON MY SUBURBAN!!!

Hey sorry my response was a little late. Here is my idea. Take some styrene or plastic thats flexible like this but a bit thinner. Cut the grill section around where I blacked it with a sharpie and then make your new piece. It would take some work but I think it can be done. The trick is going to be the hood. I think I would try to heat it with a torch lighter from farther away under it to get the bend. You would have to use styrene to add to the fenders to make up for the gap the hood will take away. I really don't know what I'm talking about and I have limited tools but if I built this it's more than likely what I'd do. Be careful with the heat if you do it as there is a fine line between cool looking and words I cant say on here

That pic with Jesus hangin on is EPIC!! -
And to think I'm running around in a t-shirt and shorts!! Thats a lot of snow!

Thanks Marty. The plate was from ACME. http://www.acme.com/ Its under license maker The trick is getting it to scale on your comp for print. I think I cut mine down to 20% to fit right. Hope it helps its cool and you can pick any state and make almost anything.

I'd see if a 70 Superbee grill would fit or not in the location of the charger. I have both let me check in the morning. Then I'd snip the plastic (the side of the headlights closest to center) Get rid of the the bulk mold and add some styrene strips to make that angle. Let me see if I can make a mock.

Why you hiding the front?

Where ya goin' Hot foot?
Railfreak78 replied to RJWood's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Passenger wise I have been in a hoped up in a 71 Nova at 150mph, a 1992 trick Mazda RX7 at 160. The fastest I've ever had control over was my 1992 Honda Prelude (non American smog, direct import) I had it up to 140+ in fourth gear and it was a 5 speed. I way more but I ran out of road. It was stolen 2 weeks later and I got it back but never opened it up and sold it. Don't you love the way the car goes quite and feels like its on a pillow or cloud after about 120? -
Call me goofy but you had me at Gremlin. This should be awesome!
-
WOW I thought I was the only one that remembered this great movie! I bet you will get all kinds of it was this car or that car. People think it's a Super Bee based on the look of the front. It's a 71-74 Charger. Don't forget like a lot of people that those versions of Charger had super bee packages. I wish I thought of this before you lol . I have the right Charger. Have fun with this one!

Cranky I hate to say it... I have No progress... My daughter turned 16 and her party was postponed to today she has everyone over and its funny cause my kid has no interests in cars but her and her friends play "zombies" at parks every weekend. They have to to change sides human and zombie on different rounds. Now my daughter HAD to show her friends ( as a parent I'm not allowed to hang out) my truck. They LOVE it!!!! I'm so happy.

I cant seem to make builds like this to save my life but this car is simply striking. I love the stance and the colors. Nice way to jump out there on a cool custom!
-
Nice and very interesting project! I think this would be really cool in a collection with cars like the Paddy Wagon, Beer truck, Munsters cars, etc. It looks great but almost looks like a pain but I guess not for 2 days. You make it look easy!

Thanks Tom, the color is a cheap " ColorPlace" Fire red. Its came out way darker and an odd shade than I thought it was going to be. Its rattle can. I did about 3 coats kinda flood painting it to avoid orange peel and it came out nice. I like the no stripe too. May I ask what RR you worked for? What kind of loco? or many lol? Thanks for looking
-
I'll be honest I didn't realise they were not suppose to be there until it was to late. That color was a pain so I'm not going to strip it down It's ok though hopefully some will miss that

painting stripes or decaling stripes
Railfreak78 replied to Nick Winter's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm not very experienced with paint stripes and a lot of times I leave an edge where the tape was. Any suggestions? Nick I'd say take some junkers and practice now. These guys are right about decals and I even got mad at them on my 76 Chevy. Now I'm 31 and cant stripe to save my life Good luck bud -
Welcome to the site and wow cool set of trucks! That ford is really intimidating and I love the mud on the Chevy. I wish my mud came out that good. If you like lifted trucks check out the older 4x4/lifted trucks post. It has a lot from all of us. Also check out my buddy Mudpit602's truck under glass. I can't wait to see more from you!

Thats really nice man! Good heads up build remembering to do both front and rear plate in WA state. Love the top also. Sweet goat!
