  1. Dave thats awesome your getting the youth involved! That makes my day when I know a kid is getting involved. Also ANY build is fun and I bet yours will be just as rewarding and I can't wait to see them
  2. Chuck, Thank you very much. I see a lot of your builds and feel the same way about wanting a few so It means a lot to me. Now if I could only build them as fast as you with the same result
  3. Thanks a lot John! I can't wait to kick off 2011 I think I have a cool car made up in my mind to get going on Also I presume I get to see you at Desert Scale again? Have a good one bud!
  4. Thanks man! Demo car should be done soon in the Demo Derby Community build thread. I have more pics there too.
  5. Thats REALLY cool! I have been wanting to see some of these and pick up a few and I had the chance to see a 57 Chevy one and now this beauty. I think you just gave me the "bug" to really do one. That turned out great!
  6. I'm glad you liked the trucks and thank you! As far as the step side goes, There have been a couple releases over the years. It's a Revell kit and the 2 I mainly think of is the Hot Rod Magazine release and this one was yellow box art from the "Basic Builders" series. Not a lot of detail but it can always be added. I don't know of any newer releases but it's a pretty common kit as far as Ebay or trades here even. The Bronco has several releases and this one was red on the box ( Late 80's I think). Revell has the rights to the Monogram kits and I believe it was supposed to be re- relased this year but I have not seen it yet. I plan on buying a few. Keep your eyes peeled for it. Thanks again!
  7. I like the color on it and the grille as well. Nice work overall
  8. Thanks Nick I had a blast making the truck and tools. As far as the Camaro goes I was really not paying attention and put the decals on wrong. I can't get them off so I might just leave them and finish it off anyway. Thank you Joe. I appreciate it
  9. Here is my Pool Truck with lots of scratch built tools. Ecto 1 And the close but not there projects that I hoped would be done by now. Thanks for looking everyone! Thanks for all the advice over the year as well and comments.
  10. Here is some more Chevy Caprice. Restored model from bad tire burn Zombie car to go with my Sub-Urban Air Force tribute Mustang Mpc Barracuda 9 hour build and also first BMF 1963 Galaxy. I called it done but I'll probrably revist this one.
  11. Let me start off by saying WOW what a year! I always built as a kid just straight from the box and no detail. I was out of the hobby for a long time and thanks to YOU guys here at MCM and the guys in my club, I have learned SO much over this year. I will list in order so you can see my progress. I THANK you all for being so open in how you do things to make all of us novice builders be able to advance in our hobby. I can't wait till next year! First up a Monogram Bronco loosly based on my 1:1 This was a ruined GTX that bought at a thrift store. The roof was smashed and leaned over from heat. My first fix. 1970 Super Bee with my first try at engine detailing Revell Chevy Stepside Post Apoc MCM build Sub-Urban
  12. Simply amazing!! Great work and great looking bike!
  13. Cranky I want to personally thank you for getting me going and inspired with the last community build. You will remember Sub-Urban. I had a BLAST building this truck and I would have never built like this if it wasn't for you. This truck also really streched my scratch and kit bash abilities and I am now a much better builder for it. I have since taken home 2 awards for it and those are my first ones ever and are very special to me. If you guys start another one next year and completely down for another
  14. I said it on FB but I'll say it again CONGRATS my friend! I'm so happy for you.
  15. I agree with Highway on the newer diesel truck. Maybe a Ford Super Duty, Dodge Cummins, or Chevy Duramax. I ask this to go with what a LOT of US modelers really want. A REASONABLY priced ROLLBACK tow truck. These trucks have been around forever( 1:1) and the resin kits on Ebay are far and few between and VERY pricey. So I would say make a roll back kit only but release truck kits you could use with them! Almost like the Open road camper did for trucks.
  16. This is all I could find but it gives an idea
  17. X2!!!! I love it. I like the boat and Scout too
  18. If we get this kicked off I think mine will be Christine ( maybe a burnt version too ) Also a Days of Thunder City Chevy car. I have it in Nascars but I have to re-paint the body. Thats all I've done is paint it and I have to redo that so it will be fresh.
  19. ^^^^ Looks GREAT so far Ernie!
  20. Sweet bike! Clean and sporty.
  21. Hey Highway I just realised I was not officially in. So here is the one we talked about and I would like in with. A rebuild od my dad's old truck that was broke so it's time for an over haul.
  22. My favorite plane! Looks great!
  23. I decided for the remainder of 2010 I am cutting it off with the competion of 2 kits. My Demo Derby car and my Predator drone. Now for 2011 I mapped out a line up something like this. Community builds and just "cause I want to" builds can and will be added. In fairly good order.... 1) MCM Community Build Big truck build Kenworth Aerodyne 2) 1954 Chevy sedan delivery 3) 1983? Cadillac Sedan DeVille 4) 1958 Plymouth Belvedere 5) Days Of Thunder City Chevrolet (Finish) 6) 1972 Chevy Stepside pick up 7) 1950 Ford Coupe 8) Lambo LP500s (Finish) 9) An Escalade Monster Jam ( Finish) 10) Drag-U-La 11) 1993 Jeff Gordon Lumina 12) 1983 Ford EXP 13) 1996 Ford Crown Vic
  24. Not sure about damage from a strait up purple power. Mixed with brake fluid I have left them in there for 3 weeks with no problem on thick paint cars. Non mixed will strip faster but I'd check it daily. Most should come off after 24 hours. I suggest some gloves so you don't burn your hands and a tooth brush and you should be able to wipe the old paint away.
