What's up with screen names?
Railfreak78 replied to oldscool's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
For the longest time online I went by my the name on the plate of this car. I lost Internet for a while and my renew date past and someone jumped on my screen name as soon as they could. So since I'm a huge railfan I made this one and it's been mine on any site I'm on so I don't mix up anything. I still use this in all my car games though. -
What else do you collect
Railfreak78 replied to BIGTRUCK's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I collect to much stuff I guess. Hot Wheels and other diecast, Nascar diecast and many misc Nascar items including a right front fender of Matt Kenseths car. I collect HO scale trains and accesories. Nylint large scale steel trucks. Lots of tools! I am proud of my large autograph collection including motorsports and many Rock bands. I collect Avon colonge car things Chevron cars, lighters, Bar signs, football swag, and more that I can't think of of the top of my head. Here are some pics. I have over 4000 cars this is just a taste. -

Real car question
Railfreak78 replied to Nick F40's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I agree that the 22R is a fantastic engine! Take care of it well and it will treat you well for a long time. Again like said, They are dogs off the line and such but get great mpg. Cv axles are common to replace but thats almost a given on any front wheel drive car. I used to drive a mid 80's Corolla and the auto was slow. I learned how to drive a stick shift on a late 70's early 80's Corolla wagon and loved it. I now have a 86 Camry (standard) and just hit 300,000 and the only major work that has been done consist of the timing belt and I need to do the clutch and passenger axle. I would jump in this car and go anywhere. Now on the flip side there are some parts that can be expensive such as a throttle position sensor is way more than I expected but thats not something that will go out all the time. Oh and with the high miles I still get 38 miles per gallon on the freeway. -
Help from you computer gurus?
Railfreak78 replied to gbdolfans's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Another thing I do is make folders. If you right click anywhere on your back ground you can create a folder. IN my case I can't stand the icons for the computer itself like Internet Explorer, firewall, etc. I put all of those into one folder that only takes up one spot instead of several. -
TV/Movie Vehicle Community Build.......Contest
Railfreak78 replied to bigern26's topic in Community Builds
I'd like to join in with 2 cars. Christine and also the City Chevy stocker from Days of Thunder. I did start the race car in the Nascar section HOWEVER: I did not get the right paint so it will be stripped and the chassis has not been started or engine, Nothing. My old pics are the body sitting on a different scale frame in the other section so I will be starting over. Hope it's ok -
Nice Raoul! You had this one at Good Guys right? I have a pic it but its got more cars around it so I won't show it here but man It looked great under the lights

Hey John! Great work and nice save! I want to point out something I really like. Those side exhaust pipes. I really like the way they look did you hand make them too? Great looking car and paint. Cheers my friend

Thats pretty neat! I like the personal touches. The real car looks cool too. I like a model with a history. The police still on the bumpers is about the only thing that sticks out. I love the beer tap shifter! Thanks for sharing it.

Redneck Christmas Tree
Railfreak78 replied to ewaskew's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
YES! I'm not the ONLY one! I did it with her there We all went to decorate the tree ( Wife, kids,me,and friends) and by the time she turned around from grabbing some ornaments, I had 4 models cars on the tree. ( The tree is in my loft next to my workbench. It's the only place in the house tall enough ) Let us know how it goes! -
o/t watch what you leave in your car
Railfreak78 replied to jeffb's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Sorry for the bad situation. It's crazy what people do and around the holidays to boot. One Christmas my wife and I were in a Target shopping for gifts and when we came out someone ruined my trunk lock trying to steal presents if there was any. Lucky there was only a big pack of paper for my daughter to draw on. They never popped it open just ruined the lock. I had to bend the metal around the lock to get into it. It just amazed me that people can act like this. I hope it gets better Jeff! -

Yeah I'd say my mind wanders so much I could mix 60 cars into one of my threads if I wasn't careful -
Highway I do not blame you at all for that score! Then again I'm the guy at the big swap meets buying boxes of junk cars and bags upon bags of parts every chance I get.

I don't mind either. Case in point : My 1974 Caprice. I did not know how to do BMF at the time and I was out of time to do so for my club meeting but someone posted a beautiful 2 tone green one with BMF and I was inspired enough to do BMF on my next model. I will eventually re-visit my Caprice and do it. I personally like to see what other have done to the kit I'm working on without digging for it. Now what I don't like is when I get side track on my own projects and start posting pics for Highway about a Lambo on my Caddy Monster truck thread -
