I agree. The car looks great but I figured we would have a 2 or 4 door option by now. -
Where to buy these days?
Railfreak78 replied to rust-n-dust's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Since your new to the forum I say welcome aboard! Ebay and other online places is good but I'll put it out here that E-Modelcars is a great place with many people from right here on this board. If you can ever make it to big shows like the NNL stuff or toy fairs, there is normally a lot. Also if you join a club you never know what some of those guys are willing to sell and cheap too I'm fortunate enough that between my club and my bigger local shows I can get many oop kits for $10. -
A paint question
Railfreak78 replied to Railfreak78's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks for the feedback guys. I know all about the body work and primer and such. I really didn't know of grits that fine to use to polish them. Looks like MicroMark will be where I look. Normally my way of flood painting forces it to level out but this stuff here is Testors metallic and it runs so easy Thanks again guys. -
I think this is the stock version. Obviously a newer release. I have plans for this one but the kit in the picture ( Lower left) is actually easy to find on Ebay and maybe even E-model cars (well not stock but also not gasser oops )

Best way to strip a model
Railfreak78 replied to cazxr2's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My purple pond does fantastic for me. I change out the fluid every few months but really don't need to. I use brake fluid and purple power. It has stripped cars I never thought possible. However this is just paint wise. It might chew up some of the glue after the freezer idea. If you get in the habbit of using Fomula 5000 canapy glue for your windows and lights then it will loosen with warm water. -
Screen Saver look!!!

I change mine a lot. Sometimes weekly sometimes every few days. My current one is an over all view of a section of the Good Guys car show here in AZ. I also try to keep my icons to a minimum. -
Hey gang. This question could be answered by everyone but, I mainly use spray paint due to not having an air brush. We all get orange peel from time to time but how do you get rid of it? I have heard of polishing it out but I'd like to see products. Most of the time I can hand polish out a car with rubbing compound and then wax. This car featured looks great in the sun but the shadows prove it is very orange peeled and I can't hit it again thicker like I am used to or it will flood really bad. I would like to hear peoples ways of over coming this problem. My roomate has issues to a lot and Future still shows the texture. I do normally "flood" paint but In this case it will not work. Thanks everyone for looking and any advice. I look up to all of you. Pics of products would be great. Thanks.....

IN case anybody missed it, Here is some inspiration for TV/Movie cars. This one is done already but I might jump in with another since my club has that for a theme early next year. I could kill 2 birds with one stone.

Are YOU Thankful?
Railfreak78 replied to FASTBACK340's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm thankful for my wife and kids, family, my pets, my car that always gets me to a lousy job but I'm thankful for my lousy job. It's still better than nothing. I'm thankful God takes care of me. I'm thankful for all of you on the board and the great people in my model car club that share a passion like me and allow me to get better at the hobby that relaxes me in life. -
This is looking great so far. Oh to answer your original question you can fit 10 pictures in one post

Here are some pics of the slot car set up. This thing had something to see Everywhere! Town scenes, and hidden fun. Even Where's Waldo? -
Hey guys this may seem like a stupid question but I am not real familiar with this engine and the instructions are a bit vague on molded in parts. The molded in part hanging off the front cover: Is this supposed to be an oil filter or the fuel pump? If its the fuel pump where is the oil filter suppost to go? One last question too. The coil on this is in the back of the engine. I thought All Fords were in the front. Am I wrong on this car? Thanks to all for your advice

This was amazing Lanny. I hope to be that good and creative with weathering some day as I grow in the hobby. You certainly get the mind wandering with ideas

Thinking about the stuffing...
Railfreak78 replied to Jon Cole's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've noticed a few newer kits that way. The Uptown Escalade and the Donk Cadillac I have ( for parts and bodies) are that way as well. I really like it. -
