    My dads 57

I was suprised how good the cleared primer looks! Great paintjob on the body and colors are nice. I like the engine detailing, done very nicely. Interior looks good too, it's well detailed. But is it 1/25 scale, or bigger? It looks like AMT's 1/16 kit, but can't say surely from the pictures. Model is nice anyway.
  2. GASSSSERRRR!!! Great project, I really like the idea. The new Camaro is a nice car. I didn't like it, when I only saw the pictures of it, but when I saw them live in USA, I thought that they look good. Very agressive look on the front. But this project is nice, wheels and tires look great so far, keep it going. This seems to be bit different... I can't remember seeing any other models than Lowriders, or other Customs, which are going very low.
  3. Thanks Jay! I don't think, the oversized metal flakes are a problem. In many showcars, they are really big, and in this scale if those would be correct sized, no one could see them well, so I think, it's better to keep those. And I think, they are looking pretty good too...
  4. Got some more work done today, after spending last friday night on local Cruising, and weekend in DragRacing... I installed the brake lines, they are now pretty good, well, they are not correct, not as like 1:1. But anyway I installed the radiator, and built the lower water hose. Also I istalled the body-interior-chassis together. Now everything is coming along very nicely, and this one is getting ready pretty soon. Also painted the convertible top from the other side, and the hood with primer. Those are still needing some paint. Lots of cleaning coming, and then the final assembly.
  5. Just painted the wrong side of the front clip. It's now orange. Maybe at the end of this week, I can paint the outside of it, if the weather is good. But also I've done some interior work, I'm trying to get some pics from the interior soon, but not today.
  6. Good to hear that your Corvairs aren't forgotten... Just painted some primer to my Austin, the weather was good. It looks quite good, but still some sanding, filling etc must be done before I can lay the color on it.
  7. Yes, the truck is '59 Chevrolet Viking. I'm not making an exact replica, just same styled, and I'm using '57 Chevrolet Cameo cab as a basis, of course it's a gluebomb... But I might scratchbuild those wheels, if I can. And here is a picture about the same truck, as in those first pics, but here it is in USA, in somekind of junkyard.
  8. This one is really nice Mustang as always from your garage. Like the color of it, and paintjob is really good. Engine is really nice with all those little details... You must have many Revell Pro Sportsman car bodies and normal streetcar chassis parts in the stash? But this one looks really good, makes me to build something same way... Someday, not right now...
  9. This one is VERY clean build! Maybe one of the best VW Beetles, I've ever seen. That paintjob is really great, and that hole car is just like coming out from the factory line. Finishing is incredible.... I'm almost speechless, thanx for sharing it, very nice job with that. B)
  10. Great Challenger! I'd like to have one too, but right now I have too many projects going, and can't get a new one. Maybe if I get something finished.... Anyway, your model looks very good to me. I like the color and paintjob looks very good too. Detailing is really great, and I love the wheels and tires. Great job on this one, want to see more of these being built.
  11. Great build! I like the look, that top fits just perfectly to this body, and modifications are done very nicely. I like those new spotlights more that the old ones. Interior looks very good too, this one is going to be really great model, when it's complete. Can't wait.
  12. Thanks, Cato for the info! I'm building this as a practise for the other Cobra, I have on the stash. I wan't that one to be well detailed Race car. I think, I'll make this one finished very soon, and then I can take a little break from Cobras, and maybe after few weeks, I'll start the other one. Great info, didn't know about the black frame rails, must paint them like that to the Racing version. Also must do those few more things bit different, and that one will look good. I must get back installing the radiator, then I can put the body on...
  13. A little update to this project. I built the interior ready. First I painted the steering wheel to simulate wood. First some brown paint on it, and then some clear orange. I also painted the center of the steering wheel as blue, but Cobra logo is still silver. Then I glued the cauges to the dash, and glued that thing on its place. I also started building the brake lines, but they aren't ready yet. Also installed battery cables to starter and frame. Also painted the body from the "wrong side", now this one is slowly coming together. Only the radiator stuff, and I can install the body. This one is getting close to being ready! Well, the hood must be painted...
  14. Huh, never heard of that before... It wasn't Cryshler or Lincoln, or any other "normal" manufacturer's car. I thought, it was some kind of prototype, or retro car. Well, better luck next time! I'm suprised, how many people really got it right...
  15. Well, some people are going to Rome, Paris, New York, etc. Then they go shopping and buying clothes, lots of them... Huh, BORING! So it's my way to do the "shopping", going to the hobby shop and buy some model kit(s) from it. I've bought two model kits from Italy before, one Lancia Stratos and one Renault Alpine, both rally cars. Then I've bought many many kits from Sweden, like '67 Impala, '57 Ford Fairlane, '57 Nomad etc... I've bought three from Florida, Kenworth, '65 Stepside and Jeff Gordon's NASCAR. I've bought one '67 Corvette from London, and one Revell Chopper too. And now I'm looking for hobby shops in Rome, so I can continue from the list of my models, bought from different countries, at vacation. That's just my style, of course I must visit in the historical places, like Colosseum etc. But it wont take too long time for visiting in one or more hobby shops... And of course, MUST VISIT IN HARD ROCK CAFE! It's very close to the hotel, where I stay, and that's great.
  16. Well, I've found correct wheels to the truck, but they are only to the four rear tires. I'm using the Slicks from Revell Pro Sportsman kits, but I need still two of those slicks. Front wheels are bit more tricky, must find some good ones, or I've been thinking of scratchbuilding them, maybe?
  17. Haha, I had the same feeling... I spent maybe half an hour in google searching pictures, and found nothing. It has the look from many other cars, so it's very tricky to try guessing it right when I have no idea, what I'm looking for. But I'm very interesed about, what it really is, and HOW MANY REALLY GOT IT RIGHT? Well, must try again next time this one is too hard for me. I was thinking almost every American car make, like Lincoln, Cryshler etc. But didn't realize, what it is really.
  18. Looks good. I like the color on it, and paintjob looks very good too. This kit is really great, worth buying and building. I've also built one, many years past. This model looks very good, but maybe some engine detailing would make this one to look better? Nice build anyway, here is a picture of my Willys, not too great build, but anyway. (Click the picture to get it bigger).
  19. Good looking Thunderbird! I like the stance on it, very good. Engine detailing is nice, and paintjob looks very good. I like the overall look on this one. This is one of the few building styles what make this model Thunderbird interesting. Nice job, keep these coming!
  20. The Soft Seal kit was re-released few years? ago. Re release box top looks like this, I think.LINK Really great build! That color looks good, and paintjob is great. I like the decals on it. Really great looking '57 overall. I'd like to see some engine and chassis pictures from it. Those Good Year letters on tires are looking really good too.
  21. Yes, Looking real good! I can't find any mistakes from it, very clean build, overall look is great. Paintjob looks amazing, and color is a good choice. I really like those wheels and tires. Engine detailing is super, and chassis looks good. Idea is also very good, but that top is maybe bit too massive. I would have chopped it a bit, just a few millimeters, so it doesn't go too low. But with those wheels, that top is looking pretty good, I can find somekind of building style from that.
  22. Now I have the final primer on. It's looking smooth now, and painting is the next step... Maybe I would paint some other parts too, like the hood for my '57 Bel Air. But let's see, when I paint it with spray gun.
  23. Detailing the battery... Well, I installed it just to the firewall, it's now there and it will stay there. First picture shows that I'm using Detail Master's Battery hardware set, which includes some photoetched parts to detail the battery. Also some battery cable from Scale Dreams, but I must glue them next to the starter, and frame. I can add them to the battery when body and interior are installed to the chassis. Before detailing the battery, I glued a bottom piece to the battery, because there was a great hole. Paint, few photoetch parts, and some detail painting, installing the battery and now it's done. Next step is to continue building the brake lines...
  24. My closest hobby shop is about 40 kilometers, and some driving on the traffic jams... And of course, the model kits there are really expensive... I have bought kits lately from internet only, much more cheap and no driving anywhere! And of course, if there are hobby shops, I'll visit them... And there are at least those three in Rome, so I'll visit them. Of course, lots of things to see in Rome, but those are on the list too.... I've bought a model from a vacation EVERY time, I have found a hobby shop. Last time I visited two in Daytona Beach...
  25. And how about the other Historic Racing CB Builds? They are interesting, but nothing happens? I didn't get the Austin primered, because I found some new places for putty. Well, maybe today I can paint some primer on it. Oh yes, panel lines need some scribing, but that it easy to do... So there might be an update coming, stay tuned...
