Remove dried glue from clear plastic
W-409 replied to Fat Rat's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I'm afraid, that there's no other way than just polish it off. That needs polishing kit, or maybe wax which poishes, may help too. Maybe it's just easier to buy new one, or make new one from acetate... -
Wow, this is great! Like the idea, and this bodymodel is cool start for Drag Racer. Engine looks good, and wheels and tires are nice. Can't wait to see more progress. This just reminds me of this Finnish Rat Rod, which goes 9,5 times at quarter mile. (BTW, I've taken that picture)

Thanks, Brett! It's great to have these models on the "display case", I can easily see the improve of my skills... Next build, after the Ramcharger was '29 Ford RatRod. Built in two days, so it's not good, but just a fun project with lots of partsbox parts. Frame is 100% scratchbuilt, and I chopped the window frame, grille is lowered, exhaust pipes scrachbuilt. Interior has no floor, and it's really rusty. Just a fun and quick project, I didn't try to make this as realistic, as the other models, but I've got one price with it. I've built also another Rat Rod, and that was a great and more serious build.

Some putty to inside the body. There were ugly ejector marks, so after sanding those might look good and more realistic. And Question!: I didn't get this point from the intructions, or any other. If I glue the body and its foor now to one piece, can I fit it on its place anymore, when the frame is completed? (Or being close completed) Hope that it's possible, otherwise it don't look good with that seam on the center of the body... Floor wasn't looking good either, so some putty there also... And the body ejector marks.

That Hardtop version is a great kit! Built it many years back, and turned out OK. Parts fit nicely together. Only thing, the alternator doesn't fit under the hood, so the hood isn't perfectly closed, there's a gap. That was only problem, I found from the kit.

We're having a heat wave...
W-409 replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
98 Fahrenheit seems to be about 36 celsius degrees... It was quite hot in Rome too, walking many miles on a day in burning hot, 38 celsius degrees, that's 100 fahrenheits... Air conditioning would be good here in Finland too, some of you might think, that it's always cold here, but now it has been about +30 celsius degrees almost every day... -
So I was wrong, again. But if it is 1/2 scale, it's almost like real .... Maybe next time...

Really great build. Paintjob looks very good, and every details on the model are looking cool. It's clean build, with no big mistakes. Interior looks good too, how about the engine pictures? Nice model.

Amazing job with it! Great to see these Drag bikes, especially when they are Harleys! This build is awesome, frame looks GOOD, and body is simply outstanding. I can't believe that those are scratchbuilt, they are so nicely done. Detailing is superb, is that engine running? Looks like it. You must know very much about these engines, and details of them. Great job, it's truly AMAZING build. I wish, I could build like that someday...

Great video! What's that car? Didn't get it, but great work with that car!

Tim, I think too that it looks bad with that body panel from the kit, and actually I like Front Engine Dragsters without any panels, and that's why there is coming no any panels. Android, Can't wait to see your FED, these are always great to watch, and I can't see too much of these.

Yes, must get it on four wheels, not tree (one in the air)... Hope this turns out good, and there's no that kind of mistakes, they are looking bad in Ok build... And yes, it might be based on the Ramchargers kit, I have that one too, and these have lots of same parts, and chrome tree seems to be just like Ramchargers'... That body will look cool on it's place, and that's why this is something different. Thanks for the comments, guys!

Another new project. The basis will be the Two Much kit from AMT. Great kit, it has two Hemi engines with blower. The frame is molded to one piece, which is good. Not so much work on the assembly, and it hasn't much mold seams at all. The kit is great, and it will be fun to build. I'm going to leave those Body Panels off, so it will look much better. Today I removed some mold flash and something like that. Some gloss black to it, needs still some more, but it's getting there. And must start the engines too. Pictures about what's in the box, are here:http://s1038.photobucket.com/albums/a463/VintageDragRace/Twin%20Engine%20Dragster/

Starting a new project, but it's coming slowly... Bought The Jawbreaker Dragster, which has somekind of Sedan Body. It's cool looking, I think. It has Hemi engine with blower. The kit quality is Ok, but some parts have pretty much flash, and they need some cleaning. Also there are some need for putty in some places... Today I got engine halves together, but they need some filling and sanding before paint. Also must get building the frame. It's going to be very interesting build, but don't know, when it gets finished.... Some pictures about what's in the box can be found here: Photobucket album

I've been building this, and I have time for building models like 20 minutes of a day, so progress isn't very fast. But when I get this one finished, I'll continue Mercury and get it hopefully primered soon.

Blown Side-by-Side Twin-Chevy Front Engined Dragster
W-409 replied to Bernard Kron's topic in Model Cars
Great dragster! These are my favorites. That Twin engine system looks wild! If one is good, then two has to be better! Nice job on the detailing and all of the painting looks very good too. Amazing job with it, this is very nice model. -
If it's a model, it's big scale... BUT I say that it is REAL! Well, I might be wrong, as always, but it doesn't matter.
-
I second that! That one is coolest VW I've ever seen, and it sounds very fast and mean. Interesting in 1:1 and 1:25 scale.
-
Looks good! I like the color on it, and paintjob is very nice too. Mickey Thompson tires look very good. Engine detailing is great also. Add some black wash to the grille, and it will look even better. Stance is very good, and wheels are nice. Great build.

Where are the pictures...? I can't see them.
-
The front clip has been painted from the other side long time ago, didn't remember to post a picture of it. Maybe there's one picture in the CBP topic, but I post it here too. It needs to be painted from the other side too, and then I can spray some clear on the cab and frame too.
-
Long time with no any progress... This model is waiting for waxing again. I'll use a wax, which polishes at the same time, so I can say that paintjob is polished... But I don't have that wax yet. Interior could be also finished easily, maybe getting back to this build very soon.

63 chevy 2 nova outlaw prostreet updates 10/31/14
W-409 replied to tyrone's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
'63 Chevy II is really nice car, and perfect basis for this kind of project. Can't wait to see more progress of it, your builds are always looking very good. I like the modifications, you've done to the body, that car looks mean. Really great job so far. -
Hey Wayne, what's the best ET with that bus? It looks really wild, I'd love to see that one live at Santa Pod.
