  1. AMAZING color!!! Those flames are looking really good. It's very shiny, and smooth too. Great job on the painting, can't wait to see it finished, it's just looking so good now.
  2. Chopped Top Slammed Down '49 Mercury Blues... It's coming slowly... I started assembling the engine togehter. That intake manifold, which I cut from two to one, fitted nicely, as the cylinder heads. Painted starter and transmission, also those bolts on the cylinder heads got some paint. Coming soon, plug wires and some other stuff. And oh yes, needs to find carburetors for it.
  3. Looking good! It's bit like Robert Joosten's Camaro Pro Mod, which he ran this year here in Finland. I like the work you've done, keep it going, this project is great to follow!
  4. Well, I voted for "Yes, all the time! You can't beat the convenience." That's just because I've been buying my latest model kits from online. All of them. That's just because they are usually cheaper when you buy online, it doesn't matter if there comes shipping to pay too. They are still cheaper (or the same price). My closest Hobby Shop is about 30 minutes drive, but it gets closed 5pm and I must be really hurry to get there before that. Also, fuel is expensive and Jeep, Buick and Chevy need lots of it. . Also there are rarely model car shows here on the summer time, so I can't buy kits there.
  5. Well, the idea is great, but don't know, how does it work... For me (and maybe many others too) is great to have comments, where people say what is done good, and what isn't. But if there's just a "like" button, maybe there comes less comments and then you can just watch that how many likes and how many don't... So if there comes even less comments, that isn't good thing, is it? But I understand well, what you are thinking. And that's very important, how you say something. Because tips, tricks, how to make better should be also given gentile....
  6. I'm trying to build a little junkyard diorama. And that Mustang should fit there nicely. I mean that I'm building just a little junkyard's corner and put that Mustang right there. Thanks, Mark and Robert. And Mike, your buddy does great job with that one!
  7. David, all you say, is true! I don't understand, if builder gets tips how to get model looking better, why it is "personal attack"? I'm just happy if I get some suggestions and tips how to make model looking better. And for that build subject. As you said, that "lowered suspension bores me to death", I can say same thing from High Tech and too big wheels (bigger than 15")... They just don't fit to my mind, and project is not so interesting. Concept cars are interesting, and Old School stuff, always, it doesn't matter if using same old tricks again. But that's just me.
  8. Here is two pictures about the resin copy of that engine. I glued the halves together. I had to do some sanding before they fit nicely to each other, but now they are looking Ok. Next I'm going to put some bondo and then sanding, and maybe that engine will look smooth after that...
  9. Thanks, Andy! I still haven't picked any bottle of that, but I'm going to. I need some other liquids as well, so I'm going to get some Future really soon, I hope.
  10. This is truly amazing work! I've been watching this one, and all I can say is WOW! It's looking so great. Detailing is super, and you've done lot of work for it. That steering wheel looks amazing. Can't wait to see it finished, great job!!!
  11. Don't know why is that, and some topics are getting many many pages of replies, even if the model is still at the starting point.... And some, very nice projects can't get anything. Sometimes I'm just speechless when watching someone's work, and then it's hard to post any comments... Maybe other people are having that same thing? Personally, if I don't get any comments, that doesn't matter. Of course it's great to hear what you guys think, but I keep going, if there comes replies or not. I'm posting comments to interesting threads, but not everyone of them. But if the project isn't interesting, I'm not posting comments. Or maybe if I have something to ask, like about some building technigue, then I'll ask. But of course there are many, many very interesting projects, where I have not posted anything. Maybe some other impressive builds are getting few comments, but then the work with it needs to be very nice and I can't be without posting a comment. But anyway, that's very good point, why some topics can't get replies, or maybe only two or three. And at the same time some other topic, where comes rarely updates is getting maybe 10 pages of comments, that's very weird. I'm interested about seeing what anybody else thinks about this. I've been thinking about the same thing too, and here maybe is coming some answers to this topic...
  12. Thanks, Steven! I believe that the engine is from that kit too. Today I'm going to start working with those resin copied parts, and I must cast few more. Also I need to find correct material for the rear wheel wells, somekind of bottle where I can cut correct size pieces.
  13. It's looking good! Detailing is amazing on the engine and interior. Paintjob looks very good too, and I like the stance. I'm going to be building mine as a Gasser, and I can say that you've done lot of work to make this kit like Pro Street.
  14. Yup, thanks for the information! And Thanks Richard! Max Rat Chevelle is an older release of this kit? http://www.hobbylinc.com/gr/rmx/rmx852870.jpg If so, it has 396"BBC and it is truly better detailed, as you said. I've built one and that engine was great. This just looks like old Monogram kit's engine, and they were molded very often to color.

    My older builds

Next older build. Monogram's '55 Chevy 1/32 scale Snap Tite kit. It's built BoxStock, and painted with a spray gun. Two Tone paintjob... Some BMF used to chrome trim but bumbers are painted silver. Nothing special about it, interior is just painted red and white. Chassis is molded to one piece and I just painted all of the parts with different colors to make it looking realistic. And oh yes, it's BoxStock build.
  18. I don't know. I've asked that also from Finnish Car Modelers Association forum, and someone said that it could be from Monogram's '39 Chevy... I have no idea of it, but it's just like Chevelle's engine.
  19. Or maybe clear windshield from Revell's '60 Impala? Does it fit? Or how about the "Bad Actor" windows? They are clear, if I remember correctly... The base kit is pretty much the same, I think. Maybe that should fit?
  20. I got the first resin copy out of that engine. It turned out pretty good, but I must make few little things for it and some sanding before I can glue those engine halves together. I need this 572" engine for three projects, so I must make pretty many resin copies from it. Tunnel Ram- manifold turned out Ok too, but I haven't cast cylinder heads or valve covers yet.
  21. Somehow it doesn't look real.. But it doesn't look model... This is really tough one. But I went with real, I've been wrong for many weeks, and I hope that this time I'm correct.
  22. Are you posting pics of 1:1 car project, or is it really 1/8 scale! It's looking great, so realistic! Paintjob and detailing are very nicely done, this is going to be amazing. It looks just like 1:1 car should be.
  23. This is great! Needs to get two of these. One the "normal version" built Custom, and this version of course, NASCAR racer. It's great to see, that it doesn't need to be done with somekind of Aftermarket decals...
  24. This is going to be great! I like seeing some other models as well, than Roadrunner or GTX... This one is interesting project, and your work looks amazing! The chrome strips are looking good and they fit fine to the body.
  25. One of the last really good looking NASCARS. Of course new Nascars are nice too, but I like these more. Build looks very good, paintjob and decals are great. I like the wheels and tires too, they are looking really realistic, great build, as always!
