New twist on "On The Workbench" (Update 8/25)
W-409 replied to Stickit2gether's topic in WIP: Model Cars
That paint looks cool. I like the theme, and it fits nicely for that Merc' body. Keep it coming. May I suggest: Those plug wires are bit too thick. Maybe thin material would look better on them, but I still like that chassis, and engine. -
More pictures... Edit: It made a new page, pics of that horrible Ford also on the page 2.

My next finished model after that '55 Chevy was also 1/32 scale. Lindberg's '49 Ford. That kit was horrible, but I built it Box Stock, and that wasn't good idea. Interior and chassis are the best parts of the kit, but body doesn't look realistic at all. I painted it with spray gun and then some BMF. No anything special on this model, just OOB from a bad quality kit.

Those little parts what needs to be painted fit nicely to the body, so I installed the glass and then interior to the body, and now body and chassis are together... It's starting to look pretty good, I think. Next I'm going to wait those little parts being ready, then final assembly. Brett, thanks for the kind words!

Show me the 4 bangers!
W-409 replied to Patrick2005's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm going to install Flat Four for this '32 Ford Bonneville Racer. Not so far yet, I have just glued engine halves together and some putty also.... And this Renault Alpine has 4 cylinder engine. I have no other 4 cyl. engines built. -
Allright. I got the body foiled. It took quite long time, but I'm pretty happy about the end result. Next I'm going to glue the glass parts, and then I must paint those little parts before body assembly. While the parts are drying, maybe I could continue '57 Chevy build, from Monogram. One more

Treasures Vault--What's in Yours?
W-409 replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Now I have one real treasure coming! Just bought it and I can't wait it to arrive. I don't tell more, maybe next week, when it's here, I let you know too. -
Really nice engine detailing! This build will look amazing when it's finished. Can't wait to see more. These old Funny Cars are always interesting to watch, keep it coming.

Nice Brookwood! I like seeing these built. Color is great, and paintjob looks smooth. It's really shiny too. Engine looks awesome, detailing is great and I like the overall look. I have one Jimmy Flintstone's resin body of '60 Chevrolet Nomad waiting for my skills to improve. Your build looks really great, I'd like to see more of these.

It's cool! That Blower engine looks nice. It's great that there's no hole on that hood, so everything fits under that. Colors are nice and I like the paintjob. Stance is also great. Keep these coming.

More pics... Tried to make those chromed head lights bit more realistic... And here is the rear window test fitted on its place...
-
Yeah, got the body polished and started the work with BMF. I haven't pics yet about the BMF anyway. Also finished the interior. Some clear orange to wooden parts and then just some detail painting. Steering wheel doesn't look right, but hope it doesn't matter too much from the finished model. Also I cut the rear window from acetate. It fits nicely, after I have installed foiling to body, I'll glue glass parts.

a few conceptual ideas i'm thinking about
W-409 replied to ausbuilder's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Cool, all of them! Traditional cars, but not for that style. They are looking great so far, keep 'em coming. -
It's Revell's kit. They've made a new release of it too, but this one is the older one... That Vega looks like a great build, can't go wrong with Vega. Cool build.

1969 "ch-town hustler" dodge charger funny car
W-409 replied to ausbuilder's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Looks like you've done good job with it! Chi Town Hustler is really great subject- I have one too. Engine looks really good so far, can't wait to see more work with it. And hope that weather gets warmer so you can paint it. EDIT: -
Not 1/12 scale, it's 1/24. I didn't find a picture from the boxart, but there's red car on the picture, raised rear end and five spoke wheels with Good Year tires. Great to hear that you have also one, but larger scale. When you have time to build it, I'd like to follow a topic of it.

I installed rear axle and front axle system, tires, springs, propeller shaft etc. Now chassis needs only shocks. I also added brake lines. Brake master cylinder is from parts box, and I drilled holes for the lines, so they were lots of easier to install. And I installed the radiator wall, radiator and horn too. They didn't fit so nicely, but the end result is ok. Made water hoses. Installed wheels and tires.... Also painted the wooden part from the dash, it only needs some clear yellow, and detail painting and then I can install the steering wheel, which is also painted right now. I'll polish the body later today, so there might be coming another update. Stay tuned for more to come. Painted the center of taillight panel aluminium. It needs still some detail painting, before it's ready... Air cleaner is removable....

This one is hard.. But I say model, because of few reasons.

Treasures Vault--What's in Yours?
W-409 replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Well, you guys have nice treasures! Here are mine.... Not so special, but they are treasures for me. -
Heh, the name of your dragster should fit much better to this. Great job overall with it. I'm going to add some heat to it and try to make it straight maybe today, tomorrow, or.... Well, soon anyway.

Don Garlit`s "SideWinder" T/F Dragster
W-409 replied to John Teresi's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Nice build. What else could you expect, when John Teresi is the builder...? Paintjob looks good as always. Engine detailing is simply amazing, you are really talented... Engine is looking pretty wild when it's mounted like that. Great build, keep posting these older ones, if you still have more of them. I enjoy alot of watching these, and maybe someone else does also. -
Looks like racing didn't go well... I like how you did the scratches and dents. Weathering looks good. But maybe those taillight lenses should look good on their place, even if there are those wires hanging. But nice build, I couldn't do as realistic as that.
