Of course it doesn't make any sense to hurry up with these builds, because there is no deadline. And when there is no deadline, I can finish my builds too in time. Anyway, that engine looks really good. Detailing is nice, and great to hear that your computer problem is solved. My Corvette is just waiting for builder, same thing with the Austin. But I hope to get back building them very soon.

Very nice Dodge! I like the overall look, it's very clean build. I like the wheels and tires, they look autentic. Paintjob is looking also very nice, and engine detailing is great. Also the Ramchargers FED looks very good. Keep these coming, they look awesome!

Thanks, both! I like this one too. It turned out pretty good, I think.

I haven't seen any kits from 2002-2007 Jeep Cherokee, or Jeep Liberty, as Americans call it. It would be great to build one, but somebody has said that there are no any kits from it. Is that true? Maybe I must just buy one diecast model, and make that one look right... Older model is so different, that with my skills it would be inpossible to make that one look like '02-'07... Any help would be great to hear, thanks!

Building Monogram's Street and Revell's Racing Version of Shelby Cobra.
W-409 replied to W-409's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Haha, maybe you guys thought, that's it, but it is not! This ain't over. I'll be building the Racing Version also in this topic, because some of my reference materials are here, and it's easier to keep this thing in one thread. I can also do a little comparing with the Monogram and Revell kits. I've started this model long time ago, but I stopped the progress very soon. I have started the engine, it's painted red and there are few mistakes. I must fix them, and strip the red paint, because Ford engines are blue, aren't they? Also the frame is painted silver, but I must strip the paint off and paint some gloss black on it. Body is also primered, but I've found few mistakes from it after primering, so it needs some repair and new primer coat before the color. This one will be the blue car, which has nice decals straight from the box. Interior is also started, but I think, that it doesn't need any rebuilding, just finish that nicely and it will look good. Now I must take few things, like engine apart, and then I can strip the paints and continue building with this one. The Boxart. This one will be more realistic, than the Street Version. -
Havoline Thunderbird
W-409 replied to Kmidd65's topic in WIP: Stock Cars (NASCAR, Super Stock, Late Model, etc.)
Really nice NASCAR! I like the paintjob, it looks very good to me. Ten years old polishig kit works fine! I like the wheels and tires, they look very autentic. Chassis is very nice too, great model all the way, keep these great builds coming. -
Here are some better pictures of the car. Now the flakes are looking as they really are, so I think, these pictures are lot better. Next I must build the Racing Version of the Cobra, it will be more realistic than this one...

Some wheel&tire questions... *New question added*
W-409 replied to W-409's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thanks, for that note! Much easier to find when there are many kits where you can find those tires. -
Very cool! The best looking new Camaro, I've seen. Like the paintjob and color very much. And that Late Great Chevy- decal on the back of the car is great. Engine looks really good too, I like the detailing on it. Wheels and tires look very good, and I like the stance also. Keep great models coming!
-
Thanks. Great to hear that there are some more Cobras coming. I might get started my Race version soon... The metalflake effect is looking different in that great sunshine. I must take inside pictures of it, so it looks like it really is. Now those flakes are looking HUGE, as you said.
-
Great job you did with it. I like the color on it, and paintjob is great. Also the detailing on the chassis and engine bay is looking really good. Interior is nice too, I like that magazine on the passenger's seat. Really cool build, I like it.
-
Looks good! Color and paintjob are great. I like the stance of it, and rear tires are looking great. Wheels are nice too. Engine looks good, and detailing is very nice. Fuel line, brake lines etc. Very nicely done, it would be nice to have one AMT Willys on the stash, but maybe I'd prefer the '33 Willys, because I've built also one '41.

Very nice build! I like the colors and paintjob looks really good. It's always very nice to see these Old School styled Customs. Whitewall tires and those hubcaps are looking awesome. Only thing, what I can complaine is a fitting issue on the hood. But I know that issue, I have many Classic Chevy kits, almost everyone of them has that problem. But your model is build very nicely, and it's very clean without any big mistakes. Great Mild Custom.

I'll keep on eye this build, and I'm sure of it. These old NASCARS are great, and this Dodge has a great body design. Your work is always very nice to watch, so it's very interesting. That driver's seat looks quite, well, different than the modern ones.

Some more pictures about it. Thanks for looking! The WIP thread is here:http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=37691&st=0 Comments are very welcome, so the next one is better.

Here it is, finished product. Started out as a Monogram's kit, which presents a Street version of Cobra. I have also Revell's racing version on the stash... This was very great kit to build, I started of course from engine, which I painted blue. Added some details to it, plug wires carburetor linkages and fuel lines etc. Chassis went together nicely, and I added brake lines there. All of the axle systems fit very nicely. The frame is silver, but floor is matt black, and from the rear it's gloss black. Most of the frame components are silver. Interior is black, and I painted the wooden steering wheel, added seat belts from Scale Dreams and belt buckles from Model Car Garage. The cauges are printed out, they are paper. Body is painted with a spray can, but it has no clear. The paintjob is quite good, I think, because of good paint. Decals were very tricky to install nicely, and they aren't looking as good as they could be, but good enough... The top is bit warped, but I glued it as nicely is I could. Nothing special about the final assembly, kit goes together very nicely. I painted tire textes and detailed the spinners of the wheels too. This one is my fourth model in 2011. Here are some outside pictures, great sunshine so I decided to take pics outside.

Building Monogram's Street and Revell's Racing Version of Shelby Cobra.
W-409 replied to W-409's topic in WIP: Model Cars
My Shelby Cobra Street version is now finished, and I will post it under glass section now. This one was very great project, and I had very much fun with it. I'm quite happy about the finished product too, but of course there are lot more things, what I could have done better. Thanks to everyone who has took time and wiew this build, thanx for all of the comments, and special thanks to Cato for all of the great information! -
What Type of Modeler are you??
W-409 replied to Romell R's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm mainly in class TWO, but I think, I'm getting closer to class THREE. I sometimes built a boxstock, but I like to add wiring and plumbing, and of course make parts myself, and kitbash some parts from other kits, but I'm not a kitbasher either. The examples. CLASS TWO: And CLASS THREE: Don't know, if it needs to be ready, but I think, these WIP projects is the best example for this section. AND the other one: Pro Street Impala needs still new Tunnel Ram manifold, that one is a test piece. -

Heli-Hemi 68 Super Stock Dart...Complete!
W-409 replied to 1320wayne's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Really great job so far with this one. I like to see these modern SuperStockers too, but of course the old ones are looking better. I like what you have done so far. The engine looks real good, and rear tires are nice. It's getting very interesting when you can put the body on. -
Can't wait to see it finished, looks very cool right now too. I like the color on it, and wheels are great. Where are they from? Engine looks good, detailing is very nice. I like these Weekend Drag Cars, which are built as the owner wants, not to match any category's rules. Looking great so far, these FOX Mustangs are looking always good.

This kit is so bad quality, that it's great basis for something like this. Lots of modifications can make that kit look good. Your paintjob is incredible and I like the 60's Custom parts on it. I normally don't like them at all, but this is so radical that they are looking even good! Love that top, it's very nice. Great model.

Building Monogram's Street and Revell's Racing Version of Shelby Cobra.
W-409 replied to W-409's topic in WIP: Model Cars
This is the last update before moving it to Under Glass section... I istalled the front bumber, headlights and turn signals to the front. Also added taillights, register plate and rear bumber to the rear end of the car. Sidewiew mirror is on its place, but I must still put the other one. Before that, I will install the windshield and convertible top, which is now painted. I painted the hood also, maybe tomorrow I can finish this buildup. The chassis needs still some cleaning, and so does the engine bay. Here you go, few pics. -
Real. If that is a model, I'm really suprised. Who in earth could build that nice model? Everything looks like real, chrome parts and paint... All of those little badges and other little body details make it look like real. And if I see correctly there is some weight on the front tire. Don't know, it can be model too, but I vote real, because it looks like it. Tires are looking very realistic too, it can't be model... Don't know, let's have a see what it really is.
