Thanks, Jake! Little details make the model look very good. This build will also get seat belts, but Street D race car doesn't need a mesh to the driver's side window. Now the ignition wires are installed to the distributor... I got one distributor already done for the engine and then I just heard "zinggggggg"... (A voice of a small distributor flying off from the tweezers... I didn't find that part, so I built another one ready and installed that one. Now the ignition wires are also on their place in the distributor.

Yes, Pro Modified engine is very close to Monster Truck engine. Also Top Methanol FC engine is pretty close, and of course TMD enine is close too. Here are some pics, I found from the internet, I have also taken many PM,TMFC and TMD engine photos, which are quite good too. And when building a model, I use to look other model cars, how the detailing is done and how it looks realistic. Maybe the "Drag Racing Models"- section would be good place to watch some reference for the engine. There are many well detailed Pro Mod engines there.

A little update to Charger. I added cylinder heads, valve covers and blower manifold to the engine. The manifold was quite hard to find, but that one fits fine. Blower is painted silver, because I didn't like the chrome on it. Valve covers were also chromed, but the black paint on them looks better in this engine. Next step is spark lug wires, they are coming from Scale Dreams' wire, as usual. Let's see, when this build continues.

Some more pics about Kenworth W900: I added some putty to the turbocharger, there was very ugly mold seam, because this part was glued from two seperate pieces. Some paint and glue and it was on its place. Then some weathering to the engine for more used look. This is not going to be any show truck, but it's going to be clean from the outside. Engine was looking "too yellow" without any weathering, so I added some black wash to it. And here is the link for the original WIP topic. THE WIP!

Here you have some pictures about my Kenworth... I'll post the link also to the WIP thread, when comes the update, there are the text about what I've done, because I'm too lazy to write it to many places... But enjoy the pictures. The kit is Revell, pretty good quality, but not the best, I've seen. Next two pictures, the cab and the frame. Some wires were molded to the engine block, so I removed them and added some putty. Engine block painted and new wires added from Scale Dreams' stuff. The thick wire is some electrical wire...

Looking really good. I didn't know that Rex White has driven '37 Ford... Model looks really cool, wheels and tires are looking great, as PPP's stuff usually is. Paintjob is nice too and I like the engine and interior. That seat looks very cool and seat belts are also great. I like this one, keep these great nostalgic Nascars coming.

Looks like a great model! It looks like 1:1 car on these pictures. Paint looks cool, and color is very nice. Engine detailing is great also. Personally I don't like that bed, it looks maybe bit too short for me, and I'd like to shorten the wheelbase but of course that isn't builder's mistake. Nice model it is anyway, no any complaining about the building of this one. Great to see Gassers and other Old School drag racers being built.

Thanks! I've been thinking maybe red, blue, orange... Don't know, but maybe one of those, and the decals from this kit, the option decals, not those lightnings. The gray interior would fit those colors quite well, maybe...

Count me in with Kenworth W900. This is an interesting community build.

I've built these two. I have also one in the bench. First one, '32 Ford Roadster, chopped sectioned, channeled, frame built from scratch, trunk lid built from some other trunk lid, it's built longer and lots of bodywork done to the body. Front axle scratchbuilt, interior floor pretty much modifications and engine is of course Ford Flathead with some details. This one has won a few prices in local modelcar shows too. And the other is '29 Ford, frame is also built from scratch, so on so on...

When looking your before projects, like the Jaguar, I can say that this is going to look good. This one is nice Ferrari, like these older ones, new Ferraris aren't that nice anymore... I wish, I could build Ferrari 250 GT Pininfarina Coupe, like this. Nice job on the bodywork so far, this is an interesting project, I'll be wathing it very surely. Great work.

Thanx, Colin and Matthew! What Colin said, is true, little details make the model look very good. And for the interior, I was also thinking mixture of grey and white. Grey would be maybe not as light as it would be, but not too dark. Well, if the deadline is not that tight as it looks, maybe I'll jump in with this one. So count me in with Kenworth W900.

Ignition wires are finished now. The distributor, which came with the kit, had plastic ignition wires moulded. I removed them and I drilled four holes each side the distributor, four holes to valve cover's heat shields. Then I drilled holes to the cylinder heads. The wires are made from Scale Dreams' stuff, it fits fine and those wires are looking quite good to me. And I have a question. Do they use thermo tech in those headers? If they do, how could I simulate that material in this scale? Any help would be appreciated. -
Seat colors...how?

That Detail Master's stuff looks very good to me, must order one set of it. Which version has that kind of decals? The original, newer Lowrider release or the California Wheels kit? Or does every kit have those decals, I mean just black and white checkered pattern? I'm thinking of building a replica from dad's '60 Impala 2D HT Sportcoupe, it has that kind of checkered pattern. -

That's true, Colin. I drilled already four holes on each side, because I think, that they are looking better with four different holes. I think, that engine is going to be so full of stuff, when finished that those plug wires aren't the most important thing. -

Finally I have a little update to this build. I painted some primer to the body, when the weather was good. It looks good now, no any mold seams anywhere and it's smooth. I'll be painting this body metallic blue, maybe with spray can, and white stripes. The top will be semigloss black. And the hood must be painted with primer also from the other side. -

Thousands of thanks to you, Jim! Excellent picture, I didn't find any. Now I can continue the engine building and wiring, there is an update coming later, so stay tuned for more. -
Yes, maybe the black interior isn't the best choice, interior with light colors would be great looking if the light colors just match the body colors. This is not going to be any showtruck, but of course every truck drivers wants to have a personal cab, which is not same looking as every new truck, so maybe light color would be great, thank you for that idea, Colin! I'll be able to continue this build soon, maybe today.

Sorry about the break, but here is one older build again. '65 Chevrolet Malibu 2 door Sedan is built right after '57 Chevy Bel Air. This one is the Revell California Wheels kit, but first thing, I did, I sold those awful too big wheels away. I used the stock tires, this one is otherwise stock too, 396" BBC engine under the hood. I modified this one from HardTop to Sedan. This one is painted with spray can and it has few coats of clear. I did some engine detailing, I added plug wires, heater hoses were included in the kit. I have won few prices with this model too. Thanx for looking, and comments are always very welcome.

I started to install spark plug wires, but I'm in trouble. I need some reference shots from spark plug wires. I don't know, where they are going in 1:1 car. Reference shots must be from a car, where are that kind of valve covers. Of course it doesn't matter is there Chevrolet text or not, but otherwise they must be quite same looking than these. Need to continue of sanding the body too, but that plug wire problem is now on the first place. -
Thanx, Colin! I think, that this project is not finished in december, because now I have lots of projects with somekind of deadline, and I'm having a bit of hurry with some of them, so maybe this one will be out of that CBP... I added some black wash to the engine. First time, I added bit too much and I wasn't happy about the look of it. But now, I painted some dry yellow on it, and I think, that it looks pretty good now. Next step is to continue of course the engine, but I must make the cab ready for primer, start the chassis and interior too. But I haven't decided the color yet, so if you have any good ideas, please tell them...

Here it goes! The start of my '67 Charger. This is Revell's kit, and it's great quality. There are some option parts too, like 9" slicks, but I'm not going to use them, I'm using bit bigger ones. I found also a good blower for this car from my parts boxes. Engine is going to be 426" Hemi, the one which came with the kit. The quality looks very good on that too. I painted the engine block already orange. I painted also the oil pan and the timing chain cover and waterpump.

Aftermarket body parts question!
W-409 replied to thesnake87's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Window louvers? Never heard that before... But if they are normal louvers, like in Hot Rod, you can find for example hood parts (sides and the top) for a HotRod. They can be used to any other of course with some cutting and gluing. Side skirts, you mean like fender skirts, or something other thing? Or do you mean like those little pieces on the side of the car, what they use in tuning cars, which make the car look lower than it really is? I bet that someone makes them, but if not, they can be built from styrene sheet. -
Some wheel&tire questions... *New question added*
W-409 replied to W-409's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thank you, Mark for the info and picture! I think, that I must get that set soon, right as I get the money. Those are looking nice and they'll fit nicely to Ramchargers Front Engine Dragster. And other thing, I've found correct (or close enough) wheels for that truck, I must get them too.
