Richard: Yes, it's really fun to restore these glue bombs, there is just one way. Up! Cliff: The pics would help me very much! Must take that distributor off, hope that it's still possible. Maybe I have to make those plug wires again, or then they are maybe long enough and I have no problems taking with moving the distributor... I've built some Mopars before this one. '71 GTX, '58 Belvedere are finished and I have '68 Hemi Dart and Chi Town Hustler, '67 Hemi Charger and '41 Plymouth WIP. Well, Plymouth has Chevy Big Block and blower, but otherwise it's Mopar.

Well, I think that it's real. It just looks like it, can't believe that it's a model. That's why I'm saying real... But real or model, it's looking real good anyway.
-
Is that real or model? It looks amazing. Paintjob and weathering are perfect, that dust on it is looking like how it is in 1:1 cars. I like those tires and wheels too. How about the engine pictures? This car is also great, it's just sad that it's hard job to make that thing look like original... Model looks good anyways.

Thanx, Cliff! I got some work done yesterday. I installed plug wires to the engine. The firing order is correct for Mopar 440. Wires are Scale Dreams' stuff and they are looking fine. I also painted the front seats brown, but they aren't still installed, because I must detail the door panels first. Chassis plate is right now stripped, there are no paint anymore, exept few little pieces in tight places. I'll be able to spray some primer on it soon. Body needs some more stripping, but it's coming along good.

Don't know about the Falcon or 'Cuda, but that Nova kit is really simple. Engine looks maybe too small and there are not much parts... Well, I built one Nova, and I can say that yours is looking amazing! I like that Falcon and Cuda too, they are all looking very good to me. Nice Nostalgic Drag Racing cars coming, keep it up!

Great Dragster. The "body" looks relly good, color is nice and that paintjob is good. Engine detailing looks nice too. More of these, tires and wheels are looking great too. I have the same FED WIP, but it will take long, long time to finish.

Thanks for the feedback. Valve covers are upside down, that's bad. I think that they are so heavily glued to their place that I have no way to take them off and glue them correctly. They were glued like that, as you see from the second picture and I didn't manage to get them off when I was taking this one apart... Well, maybe I just let them be and hope that details are looking that good that everybody doesn't mind the valve covers... Distributor is in quite good position, I think, but you can't see it well from those pics, I must take better ones. There is an update coming later, so stay tuned.

After I had finished '69 Corvette I got one NASCAR done. It's Tony Stewart's Home Depot Chevy. The kit is AMT. That kit is simply terrible. Over half of the kit parts needed some modifying to fit their own places. Still many of them are not fitting correctly... For example the body isn't fitting nicely. End result looks bad too, I just built it quite fast and I didn't care too much of "little" things... It looks like that too... But it was fun to build, even if it was a bad kit. I added some details to engine and this one is painted with spray can. Some clear on it. Decals were bad too. They did split for many pieces when I dip them to the water. And yes, the body is removable.

This has been now on my workbench for few days... It's inspired by mrmike's '68 Hemi Roadrunner. This Suber Bee has a nice body shaping and it looks quite mean. Hopefully this buid is coming along quite fast, I think so... I got this one for free some time ago. The body was painted red and I think, that there are all of the parts. I didn't notice that something is missing when I got through the glue bomb. I took it apart first. I did broke the rear window, it was glued very hardly to body. Other parts are good. Right now body and chassis are in the paint stripper. I must strip the paint from few other parts as well, but first I want those to be ready... I painted the 440 Big Block orange. Manifold and carburetors are silver, as in some reference picture. I don't know if it's orange usually, but that's good to me. I painted also the exhaust manifolds and distributor. I also added ignition wires to distributor, but they are not ready yet. I drilled holes to cylinder heads, to make the job lots of easier. I painted the interior carpet matt black. Door panels and backseats are painted brown, they are like brown leather. I must paint still those front seats. I painted Good Year textes from one tire, now I must paint the rest of them. This is the basis of this project. Continues soon...

Michael: Looking good so far, I like the Fairlane when it's high and with a big engine. That Thunderbolt looks great too, I'm watching them. Jim: Thank you for the answer, now I'm again bit more wise than I was. Thanks. Now I think, I might get back to my Vette project...

Great work with this build! You are true Scale Master. I like that rearend, it looks great with those brake lines. Propeller shaft is looking good too. Rollbar is simply great, I'm watching this project very surely, keep it going.

68 pontiac banshee update 8/23 Finished moved to under glass
W-409 replied to customsrus's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Yeah, use the Pontiac wheels. They are looking very good. Body is nice too, I love your work so far. Engine looks sharp and chassis is nice too. This will be interesting to watch, don't stop now making the progress, it just looks so good now. -
Thanx John! I think, this one will be waiting for few days, but not too long, otherwise this is not ready when the deadline is... This will continue soon, but not tomorrow. Just got '67 Charger and that will be Street/Race car, I think, I get to that one right now...

I got some more work done this morning. I installed the fuel pump and fuel line from carburetor to that pump. I built glass bowl fuel filter from piece of clear parts tree. I must paint the top of it by silver, and it will look like aluminium cover. Fuel line is made from MIG welding wire... I also added the throttle return spring. Aircleaner is not glued yet. I also put the belt and the pulleys to that engine and of course the alternator too. Now back with it, making more details and other stuff. I must go to get some of my models back from Model Car Contest later today...

After Studebaker, I built '69 Corvette. It's painted with spray can and it has not any clear on it... This is also the first model where I used BMF... This is Revell's California Wheels kit, but I sold those big wheels away first and used American Racing Torq Thrust wheels. It's bit higher than the original one, and engine has some high power parts. I added ignition wires and heater hoses to the engine. Interior is pretty much original. Nothing special with this one, but it looks quite good to me. Oh, engine is anything but clean... Well, hope it doesn't matter...

Mike: You are on the list with those models. They don't have to be real cars. Thanx for joining in! Jim: Great info, thanks. I've been always interested of Corvairs. How about those "Yenko Corvairs"? Yenko Novas, Camaros etc, had 427" BBC... How about Corvair, how Yenko was different than the normal Corvair? And the biggest and the most interesting question: Was it Corvair Monza? I have heard about Yenko Monza, but I have been thinking that it's rather Corvair Monza than Chevrolet Monza (Monza shares a same body with Buick Skyhawk and Olds Starfire).

Great job with plumbing and detailing the engine. I like to watch these Pro Mod projects, because PM is one of my favorite Drag Race categories. I like the body and the rollcage. Nice job with it, this build is very interesting, I keep watching this one.
-
This one is looking real good. Like Gassers, and this body is one of my favorites. Paintjob looks good, so does the color. I like the stance and wheels with those tires are great too. I'd love to see this one live... Nice job with it.
-
I'm speechless... So amazing work going on.

Some more work on this. I painted the chassis. It's white, as they used to be in late seventies or early eighties... I painted the chassis twice, because the red plastic didn't look like white after the first coat. When it was white, I painted spare tire casing by red and blue. Stars & Stripes, you know... Don't that blue area needs still some white stars, I have them in progress and I must print them out as decals... I also continued the engine work. I drilled holes to distributor and cylinder heads. I installed ignition wires to engine. They are looking pretty good, but not the best of mine. Headers are from Monogram '56 Chevy kit. They needed some heat before they did fit, I don't know, they may need some more heat again... I must continue the work soon... The aircleaner is just test fitted! Here is my "photo studio"... It's just one poster what has a white background. It's on the table and there is one light on the wall.

Need help finding correct sponsor decals!!!
W-409 replied to W-409's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yeah, no problem. It's true that the picture isn't good enough, but that is the best one, I found. I have also watched every page and pics what I have found but I have still no idea of those... Must find them some way, maybe I just put few decals, which are looking like it could look to be the correct one. -

I guess, this means that you have no idea... Bad thing, hope I can find those out, but it will be hard... -
WoW! That Corvair is looking very good so far! Colors are great and paintjob looks good. Is it hard to find these Corvair model kits? I haven't seen any new releases from those, but it would be great to have one AMT Corvair on the stash... My Corvette is waiting for builder, but I think that now I have projects with deadlines, I must make those first...

I've heard that put Micro Set to the water, where you dip the decals and use Micro Sol right after you have put the decal to its place. Those are really great liquids, it makes decal assembly much much easier. When I have a decal which sits on panel lines, I put it normally to the place and let it dry few minutes. So it's bit wet, but not much. Then I cut it from the panel lines. I use VERY SHARP hobby knife, like this one... Then bit of Micro Sol and the decals will sit nicely to panel lines. Then just some black wash to panel lines and it looks great to me.
