Edsel is one of the best looking cars, ever made! Great to see you building one of them. I must get this kit, or two. I'd like to build one factory stock and of course one Gasser... Your engine looks very good so far, I can't wait to see how this one turns out. It's great car!

Thank you both! Dart's Hemi engine got headers yesterday. I drilled holes to them for more realistic look. Then I painted them with Tamiya flat black. Normally I use Revell Enamel paints, but I bought some Tamiyas, because no one sold Revell paints at the show, where I bought these. Anyways, I painted them and mounted header flanges. They are Detail Master's photo etch parts. There are many of them in one set, I mean there are square ones, round ones and so on. This engine is getting ready for assembly. I also mounted starter, air cleaners and painted some bolts from transmission.

Thank you, Gerald and Brett! The body is getting ready for primer, now I used some putty to remove mold lines from the body. I used MMD Green Putty this time. I must sand that thing smooth and then it is time to spray some primer on it. Then painting the body...

That kit is Lindberg '67 Oldsmobile 442. It's not '66, I've built one and it's completely different. This one is '67. Nice build, paintjob looks good, and I like how you did the BMF... Engine detailing looks very good too, this one is nicely done.

I'm not sure about the chassis color, but I should paint it black, or body color. Maybe flat black would be the best... I found few pictures from google, but as I said, I'm not sure about these. Here you have few pics. I found also one picture, where was some gold shade on the floor boards. I can't post it: "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this board." But go to google and write "'06 Mustang chassis" and you'll find it. Interesting project going on, that engine looks very good to me so far. Can't wait to see this one finished, I must buy one Mustang also, I mean new Mustang. Nice job on it so far, keep it going. It's going to look good.

If you are going to use 409 BBC, and this is Pro Street style build, I prefer 632 cubic inch Big Block Chevy. It looks like 409" W- Block, but it's aluminium. Actually it's 409 Cid, but it can be stroked to 632"... So you can just paint the block aluminium and say that it is 632". Here are some pictures and information of it... "Cylinder bores were increased to 4.5″ diameter, which require do custom pistons with 409-style domes. The crankshaft has been moved out by a quarter-inch, which provides a variety of stroke length options, up to 4.75 inches and a maximum displacement of 632ci." Nice project, I'm watching this one.

Well, I'd like to join in: Chopped Top, Slammed Down '49 Mercury (Brian Setzer Orchestra) I'm not sure but I try my best to get it finished before the deadline... This is going to be very interesting community build.

Thank you, Brett! I have painted the frame with red, it's painted by brush, and it's Tamiya paint. Pretty good shade of red, I think, that will be the color of the body also. But I added some little parts to engine, oil filter, starter and so on. Also I glued engine to its place but it still needs some detailing, wires etc. I think, this will continue pretty soon... All reference shots, you have, please post them. I have found some too, but it doesn't matter if I can get more pictures or information. Painted frame I drilled holes to exhaust pipes Engine mounted

Here you have a little update! I continued building the engine. Mostly I did some detailing to it. Carburetor linkage is now almost ready. I made the linkages from MIG welding wire and some thin metal wire. Fuel lines, from carburetors are made from that thin wire. I made the connection pieces (black ones) from electrical wire. Also I installed the belt and pulleys. Now I'm pretty close getting the engine istalled, I also painted the chassis with matt black and gloss black. I built some mounts to throttle springs (don't know the name in english...) Painted chassis

Great! This is very interesting project, your builds are always very nice to watch, and these are turning out just better and better! This is going to be amazing, as always... That green is one of the best color choices for 'Cuda. I like it, keep on the good work with it.

That body looks really smooth, great looking right now! Colors are nice too and I like the paintjob... Engine looks really good too, detailing on it is very nice. I can't wait to see this one finished. And those pictures could be little bigger, not much but a little?

Thank you, Jim! This kit is bought pretty long time ago from Tietonikkari. It's in Helsinki, Finland. From FLA, I bought Jeff Gordon Monte Carlo NASCAR kit, Kenworth W900 and '65 Chevy Pickup kits. Next time, I must take some more bags, so I can buy more models... Now I know, where to find them. -
Yes, I agree with Mike and Rob. Actually, using Bare Metal Foil is not too hard. I tried it first time and ended to Corvette body, which looked like this. Of course I had the same problem, that painting those details was hard, here are two examples... Vega and Chevelle. But slowly, I started to paint chrome trims better without masking tape.'66 Olds... These are just examples, how i have done. So what I want to say is that it's possible to paint those chrome trims quite nicely without masking tape, as my '66 Olds shows you, but as for the Vega and Chevelle, they are looking just like this... So do it more carefully.

Keep up the good work with this one! I like the modifications, you have done so far. I like the flip nose and that rear fender from MPC kit, it fits fine to this body. I can't wait to see this Gasser finished, Gassers are my favorites!
-
Jim, you are on the list with 1966 Corvair Yenko Stinger and Corvair Gasser. Thanks for joining in!

This one is looking very good to me. It was very nice to look at the WIP thread, on the workbench section. It was nice to see, how this one turns out. Now it's looking very good, engine detailing is nice and color is perfect. Paintjob is really good too, and interior looks good. I like this very much, wheels and tires are great, and nice basis for Hot Rod, I have rarely seen any Austin Hot Rods. Nice job with it.

This one is simply amazing! I can't say any bad words from this, it's perfect! I love that color on it, and all bodywork is done very nicely. That is great to see some wagons being built, these are too rare in scale, I'd like to build one too. Nice Chevy!

Thank you, Clay! I have been thinking the color choice for this. Right now, body and interior are the next steps, but I don't know the color of body and I want that interior color matches to the body... Maybe this will be red, but I'm not sure about it, let's have a see. -

This is coming together slowly but surely... I had some time for this project last weekend... I started to build chassis. It went together pretty well, specially I liked the way how rear springs fit to chassis. I used the drop axle to the front. It needs still shocks and some brake lines, and other detailing as well. I also glued engine to its place. It wasn't the easiest thing, but gluing the tires and wheels, huh, it was awful. Anyways, it's now pretty good, and wheels are looking good. I put some black wash for them, and tire textes are painted also. Some Mockup pictures... -
Thanx, Greg! I have sanded some of the body, the hood is pretty good right now. Rear fenders are pretty good too, but theu still need some bondo... I think, this build will continue pretty soon. It needs also work with the engine and interior and chassis...
-
This is going to be interesting! These are perfect cars for building Pro Mod, or Top Doorslammer. I like the paint, it looks very good on this body. Engine looks good too, and that mockup is so great that I can't wait to see the finished product...

Cool Dragster... I think, The Ramchargers Front Engine Dragster is maybe the nicest FED, I've seen. Nice job with this, decals are nicely matching to the "body", engine detailing looks very good to me and there are no big mistakes. I have the same kit under construction, but it's coming together very slowly... Thank you for sharing this one.

These are getting better and better. Every model that you build, is better than the beformer one, great! Paintjob looks pretty good. Grille looks very good and engine is nice too. Here are couple of tips, how you can make the next one even better. Those Custom trims, you did, could be painted more carefully. Same thing is in the window trims. Bare Metal Foil is good stuff for doind chrome trims. Other way: Use masking tape. It will help you to get it look more realistic. Spark plug wires are bit too thick, but it's not mattering too much. It's great looking model anyway.

So, when is the deadline, I didn't get it?

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but I'd like to know, is there Buick Nailhead in 1:24 or 1:25 scale? It would be nice to get for somekind of HotRod... Have you seen it in any kit, or aftermarket etc... I remember that I maybe saw once Nailhead in 1:25, but don't know if it's built from any other engine. Also Oldsmobile Rocket, old Rocket, not 468" CID. It would be nice to get for a Hot Rod also.... Any information, please tell it.
