  1. Here is my new project. This is bought from Daytona Beach, Florida, just next to the Speedway. The kit is nice, I hope these parts are fitting better to each other than AMT's model, it was horrible... I'm trying to build it as nice as I can, let's have a see, how this thing turns out... Let's take a fast look to the body first. It looks quite good, but the rear end of it is first in mind. There are two molding seams (?) both sides of the spoiler. They must be removed. I took 600 roughness sandpaper and after few minutes, there were nothing. But be careful to not sand details from the body. Then it's time to move on to panel lines. They need to be graved. I took Trumpeter's panel scriber and graved panel lines of trunk and that one line, which goes on rear bumber. Got it? This is the kit: And here you can see the seam, which must be removed... Removed Trumpeter panel scriber: After the body, and rear end of it, I moved on to the tires. Body needs still more work but now I wanted to make tires to look more realistic. On the track of the tires, there goes seam. It needs to be removed. So roughness 400 sandpaper, and I sanded the track of these slicks and now it looks good, like used. But the sides of tires are still too glossy. I have tried to polish some tires, and they are pretty good, but now I thought that sanding off 600 paper would look good. And it looks good, just be careful to not sand tire textes off at the same time. Now I have two tires ready for painting textes, but I think, I make rest two ready to it first. Sanded and original tire One picture in the next post...
  2. Nicely done! This would look still better, but these bodies are fiberglass. So they are scratching, when hit and there comes no metal= silver under the paint. But that doesn't matter, nice car, I could not build that nice crashed car. Dale crashed in Daytona 500 about one week ago, not in the race but here is one video from it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wcImVm2Tgj4
  3. Nice Ford! And this is a great kit. Like the color on it, and paintjob is great. Also that engine looks great and I like the detailing all over, specially the grille looks good. Is it photoetch, or just black wash has turned out perfectly? Interior looks good too and wheels are great. Thank you for sharing.
  4. I had the same problem some time ago. Nick, you have shared too much pictures from your photobucket. We can see these pictures again, the day when you are joined to the photobucket. So if you are joined for example 13.5.2008, we can see the pictures again 13.3.2011, so in next month. Make a new, other photobucket account and you can post all of the coming WIP- and other pictures from there while that other one is in this point. I did that way. And then, both accounts are working again you can post some for example these '57 pics from the "old account", and some other model pictures from "new account". I don't have the same problem anymore, when I'm using two other accounts.
  5. Real nice Altered! I like the stance and wheels and tires are looking good too. Engine looks good (348 and 409 are my favorites ) detailing is very nice and engine color is very near original. I like that Cowl Bros picture on the door, but little minus comes from that paint- it would look better with glossy metallic paint, I think... Nice work with the interior too, it looks really autentic. I like this very much!
  6. I'm using this kind of air cleaner in my '65 Chevy Pickup... It's aftermarket, can't remember the manufacturer. But it looks good and if you want to, it can be polished of course, so it looks like polished aluminium, of course. But gluing that material needs super glue, liquid glue, like revell's doesn't work. Here are more pictures from it.
  7. Thanks, that hepls when building something from scratch...
  8. You can get a tube chassis from some kit, like Revell's '55 or '57 Chevy Pro Sportsman, Pro Stock models, FC and so on. It depends, what kind of tube chassis you need. I have this '63 Impala, and I built tube frame to it from brasstube, it turned out ok, I think, but I must add still more tubing there. Anyhow, it looks like this at the moment. Those revell's Pro Sportsman kits are very good basis, there are nice engines and the chassis is great, with changing the body everything looks good. Of course it needs bit more work to change the body, but... My dad is also building this kind of Buick Skyhawk: Chassis is from '55 Pro Sportsman Chevy
  9. Thank you again for the nice words! This kit is really worth buying and building, parts fit nicely to each other and so on. There are two bigger issues: Those two big black parts to chassis, protecting the frame and axles (don't know the name in enghlish) are very tricky to install, and body to the chassis is anything but easy. It fits fine for a test fit, but when it feels like now I put these together, I had big problems... But now I'm happy by the score, and next project is nearly finished.
  10. Great looking Ford! I like it, and I loved watching the WIP- thread. Nice work with it, that hood looks great, and I like the lowers on it, but it could be little more glossy? Alclad? Paintjob is really nice and wheels with thse tires are perfect choice for it. I like also the engine detailing, and that grille is simply amazing. Nice work with it, I have always enjoyed watching your Hot Rods! Great. BTW: In the movie, there are two finnish Rock 'n' Roll bands playing music...
  11. Worst.... Worst...? Where, It is, I can't see it? I just see very nice Vega! Nice work with it, that stance is great and paintjob looks good too. Like the decals on it, and overall it's a great build! But really, where is the worst? Oh yes, of course, now I know where is it. I come back later, I'm going to pick up my best model, I've built! So really nice job with the Vega!
  12. Wow, I must get that kit asap when it comes! But nice build, very nice. It looks really like 1:1 car, paintjob is amazing, and decals are nice. Engine detailing is very great, that carburetor is just like it is in a "larger scale". Nice work on it, as a NASCAR fan, I'd like to see more of these older NASCARs, those new ones are not bad, but these are better...

    69 AMX

This is nice AMX, and there you can see, that this kit can be built nicely without too big modifications... Nice job with the inner fenders, I like them. My inner fenders are now needing some styrene, I'm buildind the interior first anyway. Like the paintjob and color is great. Engine looks good too, I guess, it's this kit? http://www.fast-autos.net/diecast-cars-models/diecast-car-image-large/jo-han-1969-american-motors-amx-1-25-scale_110636900398.jpg Great job on the build, thank you for sharing it!
  14. Yes, very nice work, it's great to see these rare model kits being built. This is very interesting project, and I can say that I've never seen this kit even in a picture! Nice paintjob on the body, and decals are very nicely done also. I like the chassis part, it's so nicely painted, and those details, you have added to it are amazing. I can't wait to see it finished, it just looks so great! And I had to say also, that I like those tires and wheels, they are very autentic looking!
  15. I need some front tires and wheels for this dragster. Does anyone make them, wheels from the kit are quite bad.
  16. No, it's not a pre wired... It's the original one, which came with the kit. Before painting it, I sanded the top of it smooth. Then I took some electric wire, there, inside the wire there is metal wire, that must be removed. Then the wire is hollow. Then it's important to watch, that the spark plug wire material you have, goes into that hollow electric wire. If it goes inside it, cut nine little, short pieces from the wire and glue them to distributor. Now you have places for installing eight ignition wires, and one for the ignition coil. That works fine for me. I can post few pictures about that too.
  17. Nice job with the Camaro, I like the paintjob and decals. They are very nicely in place, looks like painted on. Engine is also very nice, I like the detailing on it. Chassis is great also, this means that I must get this kit to my hands. Nice work with it !
  18. Cool Old School Gasser! I like the stance and wheels and tires are perfect choice for this one. '64 Chevy pickup is great basis for a gasser build. Nice work on the engine too, maybe ignition wires would look good on that, but it's not bad now either.
  19. Really? I'm not a fan of these new cars, even if they are American... But anyways, nice concept.

    1962 Impala SS

409 under the hood ! Great '62 Impala, I'm not a true fan of lowriders, but these your builds are amazing. Nice interior and engine, detailing is awesome. Great build, paintjob is almost perfect. More of these please!
  21. Thanx guys! This build came out pretty well, I'm happy too...
  22. Wow, very nice. I like the paintjob, it lkks very good and that interior is perfect. Detailing on the engine is nice too and that chassis looks nice too. Flames on the mufflers are lookin' good and you nailed the frame!
  23. Amazing Mustang you have there! Like the body very much, and those engines are very nice, detailing is awesome, and hole car is amazing... I can't say more, it's impressive!
  24. Wow, nice Thunderbird. Detailing on this is amazing, nice job on the rear springs, but those bolts on the front wheels are something, I can't even think about adding to my model. They are so small. Oh yes, this was bigger scale... Engine looks good and body is one of the best gasser basis ever made. GREAT!
  25. Oh, that spoiler in the last picture: That looks good without any spoiler, but if there must be spoiler, then the first one... I like the idea a lot, and this Chevelle is good basis for this kid of project, I'm watching this one surely!
