Thank you for the tips, dwc43! I worked with that turbocharger now, first I painted part of it because it is inpossible when that turbo is glued to its place. Well, after painting, I put some Green Putty to the seam and then some sanding. I glued few parts to the engine and it looks pretty good now. It needs some detail painting before assembling rest of parts... This is coming along extremely fast!

Not a big update, but I did some test fitting on this. Body, chassis and engine are fitting nicely together. Now I think, I'm going to add dipstick to that engine, maybe some other things too... But now Hemi Dart is moved to the garage, and it's waiting for builder.

Few more photos, thanx for looking!

Hello, this one is my second model truck so far. It's bought from Daytona Beach, Florida. The kit looks pretty good and there are lots of parts. As usual, I started from the engine. First I removed one wire/ hose or whatever is it. That was molded to the engine block. Then I glued the block halves together and I sanded the seam smooth. Some painting, Revell Enamel paint with a brush and then some detail painting. I also made new wire/hose etc. to the same place, where I removed the original one. It just looks better. Well, progress isn't too fast, but lets have a see when comes the next update. Here you can see pictures about what is in the box... http://s1038.photobucket.com/albums/a463/VintageDragRace/Kenworth%20W900/

That's really nice Dart! I like the decals of it, they are fitting very nicely. I think, the color looks good too, and that matt black hood is nice. Valve covers on the Hemi are great, and detailing is nice. For the carbs, I'd like to paint those holes black... (don't know their name in enghlish...) But nice car anyway.

Nice Ford, that weathering looks super, this is one of the most realistic, I have seen... I must try my hand about building rusty, "forgotten" car. I like the way how you did remove the engine, but for the transmission, I could make somekind of fitting or something for the trans. And that would be in the front of the transmission... But your model looks very good, thanks for sharing it!

This is great build! I used to enjoy reading the WIP topic, and I was waiting when this one gets finished. That dust looks great on it and color fits perfectly to that body, paintjob is good too. I like the boxes in the trunk, they are looking very realistic. Engine detailing is very nice too, and that idea of Cadillac engine is great- Caddy engines are quite rarely seen in model cars... Nice Ford!

Here is the start of my project. I have chopped the top, it was quite easy to do, but if you are thinking about chopping '49 Mercury, I'd like to say that do it carefully, little mistake and the to is ugly. But anyway, here are pictures about mine. Original body Here is one piece of the top gluing to place... And now, the top is glued to its place, and ready for some bondo... And now, I have put bondo and sanded, bondo, sanding, and now it looks like this, needs still more sanding... Actually this project is started last summer, but after the chop top, it has been inside the box, now I just took it to my workbench again, and body is in quite good shape. It needs new B- pillars and some other things too.

Congratulations for the second place! This is very nice Chevelle, I like that color on it. Stance looks good too. Engine detailing is very nice, and paintjob is great too. Great model, this one is maybe your best one, I've seen.

Thank you all for the nice words! Walt Francis, that Hemi Dart looks amazing, I love it in primer. This will be red, but that would be other choice for the color as well. I must continue this one with chassis and interior work soon...

Yes, that helps very much! Thank you Cato, again! -
Great! Those steelies are very nicely fitting to the body, which looks very good after lots of cutting. I like the idea with those surf boards are nice and I can't wait to see more. Maybe if that would be my project, I might chop the top. Not much, but just a little?

This is very interesting project, that Pontiac Safari is very nice car. I have never seen one in 1/25 scale. Can't wait to see how this one will turn out.

Yes, it's very nice kit. Really worth buying and building. It's great that there comes extra parts with the kit, 440 Magnum and other interior floor etc. It goes together very well, and it's fun to build, and add some details.

Building Monogram's Street and Revell's Racing Version of Shelby Cobra.
W-409 replied to W-409's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Gerald says it all. I have Revell kit too, I like that this one is Street version, Revell is race car. This project is now waiting for interior cauges, I must print them out, but I haven't printer so I must give them to my dad, he can print them at work. Maybe I can get this one to continue pretty soon... -
That is really nice Galaxie! I have always liked this body, and after these customizing things, you've done the body looks even better. Very nice job on this, paintjob is great, and color combo looks very nice to me. Wheels and tires are very good choice for this, and I like to see it without bumbers. That grille looks very good too. It would be nice to see some pictures of engine and interior too... But nice car anyway.

Edsel is one of the best looking cars, ever made! Great to see you building one of them. I must get this kit, or two. I'd like to build one factory stock and of course one Gasser... Your engine looks very good so far, I can't wait to see how this one turns out. It's great car!

Thank you both! Dart's Hemi engine got headers yesterday. I drilled holes to them for more realistic look. Then I painted them with Tamiya flat black. Normally I use Revell Enamel paints, but I bought some Tamiyas, because no one sold Revell paints at the show, where I bought these. Anyways, I painted them and mounted header flanges. They are Detail Master's photo etch parts. There are many of them in one set, I mean there are square ones, round ones and so on. This engine is getting ready for assembly. I also mounted starter, air cleaners and painted some bolts from transmission.

Thank you, Gerald and Brett! The body is getting ready for primer, now I used some putty to remove mold lines from the body. I used MMD Green Putty this time. I must sand that thing smooth and then it is time to spray some primer on it. Then painting the body...

That kit is Lindberg '67 Oldsmobile 442. It's not '66, I've built one and it's completely different. This one is '67. Nice build, paintjob looks good, and I like how you did the BMF... Engine detailing looks very good too, this one is nicely done.

I'm not sure about the chassis color, but I should paint it black, or body color. Maybe flat black would be the best... I found few pictures from google, but as I said, I'm not sure about these. Here you have few pics. I found also one picture, where was some gold shade on the floor boards. I can't post it: "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this board." But go to google and write "'06 Mustang chassis" and you'll find it. Interesting project going on, that engine looks very good to me so far. Can't wait to see this one finished, I must buy one Mustang also, I mean new Mustang. Nice job on it so far, keep it going. It's going to look good.

If you are going to use 409 BBC, and this is Pro Street style build, I prefer 632 cubic inch Big Block Chevy. It looks like 409" W- Block, but it's aluminium. Actually it's 409 Cid, but it can be stroked to 632"... So you can just paint the block aluminium and say that it is 632". Here are some pictures and information of it... "Cylinder bores were increased to 4.5″ diameter, which require do custom pistons with 409-style domes. The crankshaft has been moved out by a quarter-inch, which provides a variety of stroke length options, up to 4.75 inches and a maximum displacement of 632ci." Nice project, I'm watching this one.

Well, I'd like to join in: Chopped Top, Slammed Down '49 Mercury (Brian Setzer Orchestra) I'm not sure but I try my best to get it finished before the deadline... This is going to be very interesting community build.

Thank you, Brett! I have painted the frame with red, it's painted by brush, and it's Tamiya paint. Pretty good shade of red, I think, that will be the color of the body also. But I added some little parts to engine, oil filter, starter and so on. Also I glued engine to its place but it still needs some detailing, wires etc. I think, this will continue pretty soon... All reference shots, you have, please post them. I have found some too, but it doesn't matter if I can get more pictures or information. Painted frame I drilled holes to exhaust pipes Engine mounted

Here you have a little update! I continued building the engine. Mostly I did some detailing to it. Carburetor linkage is now almost ready. I made the linkages from MIG welding wire and some thin metal wire. Fuel lines, from carburetors are made from that thin wire. I made the connection pieces (black ones) from electrical wire. Also I installed the belt and pulleys. Now I'm pretty close getting the engine istalled, I also painted the chassis with matt black and gloss black. I built some mounts to throttle springs (don't know the name in english...) Painted chassis
