  1. Really nice Impala! This one looks great to me, paintjob is nice and that color matches the body very well. It's great to see that this one is original, because too many of these are built with too big (and too low profile) wheels and tires... But this one looks good. Engine or chassis pictures?
  2. This is really great build! When I saw the first WIP pictures, I was thinking, that if I would be the builder, I'd never could get that one finished. But you did it very fastly and nicely! Excellent work on this, Bruce! Great conversion, lots of work done... It looks smooth and it's just like Revell's kit of that car. Paintjob looks very good and I like the colors. Interior is great also, and I like the engine. Detailing looks amazing. Very great build, more of these!
  3. THANX, STEVE! I would never imagion that there is a kit from Chevy Cavalier... Great idea to use that one, thank you. Now I must find one Chevy Cavalier kit, and yes, it must be glue bomb. I'm looking for quite cheap one... Just yesterday, friday we drove the 1:1 version to local Cruising. It works fine, but engine did boil over, because of traffic jam. Well, we drove to gas station friend's car and got some water. Back under the hood of Buick, some more water to radiator and it just keeps going fine, no problem with that. BUT there is a huge mess under the hood, lots of dried rusty water, everywhere, now I must get back and clean that motor up.
  4. Very nice Super Bee! I like the color on this and paintjob looks amazing. Detailing on the engine looks good too, and that weathering is simply perfect, it looks like 1:1 car. I like it, wheels and tires are great and this Super Bee is really mean looking car, I think.
  5. I worked with interior few days ago. Seat belts are now installed, I decided to put them to front seats and for the backseat too. This is going to be Super Bee with lots of factory options... Seat belts are from Scale Dreams, and photo etch belt buckles are MCG. I also primered the chassis, but now I'm waiting the body to get ready from stripper, so I can paint them both... The paint doesn't wan't to leave from the body, I think...
  6. They both are looking really good. But that '61 Dodge got me very interested- what kit is it? I'd love to have one on the stash... Great job with the Challenger's Hemi, detailing looks very good on it.
  7. This is going to be great build! ...And expensive... Those Photo etch parts are looking good, and I'm sure that this one will be amazing looking model, when it gets finished. Great subject too, I like how General Lee looks.
  8. It might be good idea to get MPC Monza... If MPC has better body and AMT has better chassis, maybe I'd like to get both of them, but they are so expensive that I'll buy just another one... And in the 1:1 version, there is Chevy 305" under the hood, but there is one 383 Stroker SBC waiting for cylinder heads and assembly... Thanx for the answers, I'll get one and build a replica!
  9. LOOKING REALLY COOL! I've never seen SC altered before on 1:25 scale... This one looks very good to me. I like that color and paintjob, great. Engine detailing looks very very good too and that "steering wheel" is nice. Great wheels and tires, this build up one was very fun to watch, thanx for sharing it!
  10. Yes, that's true! Thanx for the kind words! Progress has been quite slow for the last few days, but now I have again some time to get back on the workbench and continue the building. Next step is interior work...
  11. Few more photos, thanx for lookin'!
  12. Today I worked with engine and interior. I glued the seats to interior floor. I also glued Hurst's Pistol Grip shifter on its place. Also I did some engine work... I detailed it with throtte linkage, and throttle return spring. Also I added fuel lines and some other details too. I drilled some holes to carburetors, now they are looking more realistic and I can display this car also without air cleaner. I added some black wash to that engine too, for some realistic look. Now it looks pretty good, I think... Added belt and the pulleys, and alternator etc.
  13. Yes, that's pretty hard to bend, but I have always heated the rod as long as it takes to be "red hot". Then I've put it to sulphuric acid and when I take it away, some wash with water, then it's useable and bending gets much, much easier. I have made one tubeframe, one Drop Axle and one ring from brassrod. That will help when must bend those, it's very simple too. But anyway, your project looks very good to me, I keep on watching this one surely.
  14. Yes, that's true. My dad has that kit and it's simply terrible. Body is way too big and interior and chassis are looking funny. But there are some other kits, AMT and MPC have made. MPC kit has wide fenders, but chassis and interior should be even enough good for the basis. AMT kit seems to be pretty good, original, but I don't know, what's in the box of it. Here is a picture of those. Of course there is lots of body work to make it look like '79 Skyhawk... IF ANYONE HAS THAT AMT KIT OF SKYHAWK, I'D LIKE TO SEE SOME PICTURES, THAT WHAT IS IN THE BOX. ANY INFORMATION OF THAT KIT WOULD BE VERY, VERY WELCOME TOO, IF YOU KNOW. And is that how rare / expensive kit on these days, it can't be cheap anyway...
  15. That's great game! Most of thr questions were easy but some were hard. Well, my end result is You got 88% (42 right out of 48). The average score is 73%... That was fun. Let's see what my dad gets from that, must let him try...
  16. Nice frame! Was it hard to make? I've been thinking of the same thing, because I have one Revell Chopper, and it looks too modern styled for me. I must modify the frame alot, so I've been thinking of building it from brasstube. Nice job with it so far, I'll keep watching this project very surely.
  17. GREAT JOB! I like the idea of gold and chrome, this is truly amazing show car. I like that chassis, it looks just good with those color combos. Body looks good too, paintjob is great and interior looks nice too. Keep it going, this one will be simply amazing, when it gets finished. Great work with it!
  18. Yes, that is maybe the only coice. "Bit" of scratchbuilding. '76 Skyhawk has four headlights and '79 Monza has only two so the places where those headlights are, must be made smaller, '79 Skyhawk's grille is wider than '76's, and there are lots of other differences at the front of the car. Chrome trims are bit different and interior is little different too. Here is good pics, which will show some differenties between these models... '76 Skyhawk '79 Skyhawk Why I'm so interested of these? Well, one '79 Skyhawk 2+2 with 305 SBC is sitting in the garage.
  19. You can get parts from many Gasser kits. I think that if you are looking for high leaf springs, take them out from Monogram's BadMan kit. That kit has also quite good axle, but you get better one from Revell's '41 Willys Gasser. Also Revell Miss Deal Funny Car ('53 Studebaker Commander) has good axle systems and ladder bars. Also that BadMan kit has good ladder bars. I think that you got good basis for the build if you just buy just some Gasser kit, they all must have good leaf springs and maybe ladder bars too, but good front axle comes from Revell '41 Willys, as I said before. For example, BadMan's front axle is not so good, it's just a straight tubing. If that axle would be in 1:1 scale, wheels would not turn nowhere. Here is a picture of my '57 Nomad, it has the BadMan from axle system, and I'm not happy about that axle.
  20. Yes, thanx, Cliff! Now the waterhose will fit nicely and I can continue the work with this. Thanks for the picture too, that's great! Now when I start another Mopar project, I must put that distributor correctly. Then it's easier to continue the build without fixing old mistakes.
  21. Is there Resin kit from '79 Buick Skyhawk? If there is one, I must get one! Is there even Conversion Kit from that car?
  22. Ross Gibson Engines are really good quality. Some of those are coming with detail parts, like plug wires etc. Belts are usually somekind of black thin sheet, where you cut one which fits to the pulleys. Those engines are really good, and they have lots of parts included (they aren't looking simple). Resin parts needs just some more work, but I see no problem there. Important is to wash those parts before painting, gluing etc. I got a paper with my '60 Nomad resin body (it's Jimmy Flintstone's body, but both are resin, so here are few tips). "Working with Resin and Pewter Kits 1. CLEANING- Before using, parts must be washed off with soap, alcohol to remove mold release. 2. WARPING-If part has a slight warp or is bent, use hot, NOT BOILING water to help you pull it back into shape, then use cold waterfor it to "take a set" as you would with a plastic kit. 3. BODY WORK-After cleaning, the parts may be sanded, filled or drilled. Small imperfections of air bubbles can be filled with super glue or 5 minute epoxy. 4. PAINTING- Primer coats of automotive primer are recommended on all parts before painting. Hobby paints, enamel and automotive lacquers work fine for finish coats. 5. STRIPPING PAINT- Some strippers amy damage the resin parts, test a small are first. You may use a lacquer thinner, easy off oven cleaner, and some brake fluids. 6. GLUING- Use super glue or 5 minute epoxy. 7. PHOTO-ETCH- Cut off tree with sharp scissors, remove bluedye with findernail polish remover. 8. PEWTER- Can be buffed with steel wool, fine grit sand paper, polishing with chrome polish. Seal polished surface with a clear coat. 9. Vacuum form fit windows trim carefully with scissors. 10. Test fit all parts before painting and final assembly! 11. Always use respirator dust mask when sanding resin parts."
  23. Great looking Charger. I like the real thing, it looks just good. Paintjob is great. You did a good job with those decals too. I like the Plastic Performance Products' tires, I have few sets of them too. Really cool Dodge.
  24. AMAZING! I '70 Cuda looks better than '71, so big points from this year model. Paintjob looks great and color is nice. Engine detailing looks good, I like specially that Mopar battery. Tires and wheels are looking real. Nice model, you have lots of talents.
  25. Thank you, for the nice words. I'm now 14, but on december, I'll be 15 years old. I did some work to that distributor. I got it off quite easily, and I moved it a bit. Not much, because I don't wan't to make new plug wires and if I take those off, it would be very hard to get the new ones fit to old holes because they are full of glue and drilling them again should not be good choice... Well, it's better. It's not in the correct place but it's alright to me that way, most important thing is that I can now put the waterhose on its place. I did some work on the interior too, I put some BMF to door panels and painted the window cranks silver. Next step is gluing seats... I painted the belt and those pulleys and tire textes are now painted from every tire and wheels are finished too.
