Mike: You are on the list with those models. They don't have to be real cars. Thanx for joining in! Jim: Great info, thanks. I've been always interested of Corvairs. How about those "Yenko Corvairs"? Yenko Novas, Camaros etc, had 427" BBC... How about Corvair, how Yenko was different than the normal Corvair? And the biggest and the most interesting question: Was it Corvair Monza? I have heard about Yenko Monza, but I have been thinking that it's rather Corvair Monza than Chevrolet Monza (Monza shares a same body with Buick Skyhawk and Olds Starfire).

Great job with plumbing and detailing the engine. I like to watch these Pro Mod projects, because PM is one of my favorite Drag Race categories. I like the body and the rollcage. Nice job with it, this build is very interesting, I keep watching this one.

This one is looking real good. Like Gassers, and this body is one of my favorites. Paintjob looks good, so does the color. I like the stance and wheels with those tires are great too. I'd love to see this one live... Nice job with it.

I'm speechless... So amazing work going on.

Some more work on this. I painted the chassis. It's white, as they used to be in late seventies or early eighties... I painted the chassis twice, because the red plastic didn't look like white after the first coat. When it was white, I painted spare tire casing by red and blue. Stars & Stripes, you know... Don't that blue area needs still some white stars, I have them in progress and I must print them out as decals... I also continued the engine work. I drilled holes to distributor and cylinder heads. I installed ignition wires to engine. They are looking pretty good, but not the best of mine. Headers are from Monogram '56 Chevy kit. They needed some heat before they did fit, I don't know, they may need some more heat again... I must continue the work soon... The aircleaner is just test fitted! Here is my "photo studio"... It's just one poster what has a white background. It's on the table and there is one light on the wall.

Need help finding correct sponsor decals!!!
W-409 replied to W-409's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yeah, no problem. It's true that the picture isn't good enough, but that is the best one, I found. I have also watched every page and pics what I have found but I have still no idea of those... Must find them some way, maybe I just put few decals, which are looking like it could look to be the correct one. -

I guess, this means that you have no idea... Bad thing, hope I can find those out, but it will be hard... -
WoW! That Corvair is looking very good so far! Colors are great and paintjob looks good. Is it hard to find these Corvair model kits? I haven't seen any new releases from those, but it would be great to have one AMT Corvair on the stash... My Corvette is waiting for builder, but I think that now I have projects with deadlines, I must make those first...

I've heard that put Micro Set to the water, where you dip the decals and use Micro Sol right after you have put the decal to its place. Those are really great liquids, it makes decal assembly much much easier. When I have a decal which sits on panel lines, I put it normally to the place and let it dry few minutes. So it's bit wet, but not much. Then I cut it from the panel lines. I use VERY SHARP hobby knife, like this one... Then bit of Micro Sol and the decals will sit nicely to panel lines. Then just some black wash to panel lines and it looks great to me.

After that Willys, I built '53 Studebaker FC, the "Miss Deal Funny Car"... That is Revell kit. It came out quite good BUT I tried flake painting and that is looking real bad. Otherwise this car looks pretty good, I added spark plug wires and painted some details also. This model was fun to build, and that kit is great. I have one glue bomb Stude waiting for builder on the stash... That will be loking better. This kit is really worth buying and building too. I'll post more soon. I think, that I post all of my models to this topic, the new ones too, so you all can see the improve of my bulding skills.

Nice job with the Dart. I haven't seen this kit built like street car, but with that Hemi engine. It looks great, detailing is also very nice. I love the chassis and paintjob looks good too. I like the Bumble-B stripe and that color. Nice jb with it, I must get building my '70 SuperBee...

AMAZING build! I like this body and that color is great. I like the stance too. Paintjob looks smooth and very glossy. Wheels and tires are simply perfect to this one. Simply outstanding build. This reminds me of this finnish Custom Lincoln.

Nice ProStreet Camaro! I like the stance of it and that color fits nicely to the body. I like that paintjob too, it looks just great. Engine is nice and detailing looks superb, as always and these are great to watch... You must have lots of non- used '55 and '57 Chevy Pro Sportsman bodies?

Thanks, Skip! You have seen this one before, I've posted it, but few years ago, maybe so here it is again. '41 Willys Gasser is built after '64 Impala. It's looking pretty good, painted with spray can and few coats of clear on it. I added spark plug wires to engine and there are some details painted also. I left the grille off and some other parts too... This has been in few model contests, and I've won one "Racing- Best Junior" prize with it. EDIT: Here is the picture of Willys with the prize...

Ford 38 pickup seen nnl east 2011
W-409 replied to zelkam's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
WOW, that's amazing! I love that look. Color seems to be just perfect, and paintjob is awesome. Chop Top and all other modifications, you have done are made really nicely. Wheels and tires are looking good, so is the interior. This built is simply outstanding, that wooden bed looks just like 1:1! B) -
Thanx, Floyd! After '66 Olds, I built '64 Impala Mild Custom. It has 327"SBC. I put spark plug wires to that engine. Interior is upholstered, it wasn't too easy job to do (many years ago), but it's looking pretty good. I had problems with paint, I painted it with... Is that turqoise, but paintjob wasn't good so I painted other coat of that color. Then it looked okay, but after clear, paintjob looked like satin. The top and hood are glossy, but other body is satin. Hubcaps are from '56 Chevy, I think... It's Revell's Lowrider kit, that's great quality, really worth buying and building.

my 41 chevy pickup from the JWAC
W-409 replied to outlaw035's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
That's nice Chevy! Color looks good on it, and paintjob looks good. I like that engine too, six cylinder engine is pretty rare thing. I like the hubcaps on it, you did a great job with this one. Cool, keep these coming. -
From these, I have posted so far, it is the best one... But here comes one which is maybe better. And that Pickup is '55 . After Firebird, I built '66 Oldsmobile 442 W30. That's AMT's kit, which is good quality, but the generator won't fit under the hood... Otherwise it's great kit. There are no any plug wires etc. but I bought MCG photo etch- set for this one, and those little metal logos are lookin' good. It's painted by spray can and there is no clear on it. It's built like StreetMachine, I changed the manifold, carburetor and air cleaner, also rear tires are bit larger than the original ones.
-
Thanx, Randy ! I like the stance too... Today I continued working with the engine. I found oil pan which fits well to that engine. It was chromed, but I painted it silver because chrome was looking bad. I painted cylinder heads too, and installed valve covers. But sometimes finding correct parts is anything but easy. Today, I was looking for timing chain cover and intake manifold. After TWO AND HALF HOURS of searching correct ones, I found them. The manifold looks like Torker II manifold. That was very popular "High Performance" manifold in the 80's... Also I tried test fitting this car on smooth table, and it looked good. I think, this will continue pretty soon...

Thank you, Cole! Now I have pics of my Corvette, it's built from MPC '57 Flip Nose Vette kit. That kit is bad quality, parts are quite bad and thay don't fit well. Engine is too small, it should be much bigger so it should look like real. Flip Nose in this kit didn't work... Well, here are pics for you, it's painted by spray can and no any big details added, because the kit was so bad... So this Corvette is built right after '69 Rambler American and before '78 Firebird. I'll post more of these today, when I get the pictures...

Nice to see something different... This one looks good. Color combo is just perfect, and paintjob looks good too. I like that body, and engine detailing is very very great! That powerplant looks like how it is in 1:1 car. Nice job with the interior also, this one is great.
-
Thank you, Janne! That thing is true, that the newspaper is not good, I think, I'll make a mockup number three in a smooth table. I think, I may have time for this build also, later today. Let's see if there comes an update or not.

I glued the front axle system together, but there is still steering linkage missing... I must try to get that thing fit right. But I put those front spindles on their place and I found correct wheel backs for this one. They were quite hard to find, because the tires are quite large, I mean that wheels must be quite big, otherwise they don't fit. But correct ones are from Monogram '56 Chevrolet Bel Air kit. They are in pretty good shape... I did some test fitting. First time, the rear end wasn't high enough, but then I raised the rear end bit more, and now it looks pretty good. I'm happy that this test fit is made without tapeing the wheels and tires to axles, but of course those axles are needing lots of work. I think, the chassis work is now the hardest thing in this project, and it takes much time... And every time, I look at the body and think, that now it's ready for primering, there is some place which needs more filling, or sanding... That's annoeying, but I must make that thing smooth enough. Well, here are some pix for you all. Front axle glued to one piece. The First test fit, not good, rear end wasn't high enough... The Second test fit, now it looks better with higher rear end... Thanx for lookin'! EDIT: On the second test fit, rear tire seems to be bit badly on its place... I must fix that problem when I glue those things together. I must also look that those tires are in good position, so that they aren't too front or too rear...

Sorry of this loooong break of posting these pictures...After Rambler, I built '57 Flip Nose Vette, but I haven't pics of it yet, I post it later. After '57 Vette, I built '78 Pontiac Firebird. It's Revell kit. Quite good quality, but some fit issues, not too bad. Painted with spray can, engine is 455" but I did not put any wires, hoses etc for it, this kit is also built box stock. Well, maybe I added some decals but otherwise... Great kit, car is nice and there are lots of useful parts in the kit. I'm happy, how this one came out, it looks good to me like how it is right now.

Bernard, that one looks cool! I like the color on it, and paintjob looks good. That body is great too, it's low enough. I like the stance and engine detail. That interior looks good too, and wheels and tires are nice. I like this one, keep these coming.
