  1. Nice and interesting project you have! Polara is one of the best Mopars, I think... Your project reminds me, that here in Finland on the 80's were one 426 Max Vedge Polara drag racer. I'm not sure but it's maybe still here. Guys, remember Jim Waldo's Super Stock Fairlane? It's here in Finland too! But your Polara is looking nice and I like that job with BMF.
  2. Thanks, rustybil! Here's some more, I've painted a few parts. For the engine I used the same turquoise as with AMX but it looked like light blue... So I painted Humbroll #50 on it without any mixing it up. It was like clear green. For the intake manifold I mixed paint from Humbroll #56 and #53, quite good, I think. Tires were molded to orange plastic so I painted them with matt black. But before painting, I had to sand them very much... Texts I painted with Revell's white Emal paint. Used these paints for engine: Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Now I'm looking for old style frontrunners for this...
  3. WOW!!! This is the best build, I've seen for a while! I'm a freak of '60 Impalas, (one in the garage ) and your mild custom is looking just perfect! Caddy engine fits very well, great choice of wheels and that paintjob... It's awesome! Great build, love these. I'm building '60 Impala Mild Custom too, low as this and chrome reverse wheels and 348'' big block. Awesome build!
  4. This is very nice build, I mean you are building very nicely. And Aftashox, yes on the early 80's Finnish guys drove cars like this. There's a link to Finnish Nostalgia Racing Association and the second picture, Olds is built 80's style. And yes two guys were pushing the car fron side to side on burnouts! I can't stand, why is that... Some problems to make that link working so it's this:http://www.nosdrags.net/fnra/kuvagalleria_4.html
  5. Nice project! BIG plus point from 409 I think that the frontend is just perfect, many times here in Finland on the late 70's or early 80's frontend was lowered a bit and the rearend was a bit higher than in your car. But if you are going to raise rearend, raise the frontend a bit too. But those shocks are just perfect!
  6. Well, big thanks to everyone! And I say that this car is year model '73 but someone has installed '72 rear panel to it. Same modifications people are building to they 1:1 cars. But great thanks for you all! I continued working with this also. Started building the chassis modifications, first I removed propeller shaft and exhaust pipes, then mufflers and rear axle. Last I took leaf springs off... I used Dremel and saw to remove them. It was quite hard because of that gas tank what was molded to the chassis... Gluing new patch wasn't so easy, because it's made from sheet styrene and I was afraid of that it will crack. But a bit warm and some glue... It was on the place! When all new patches were in place just some putty. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
  7. This model is super! Very great looking build and that painjob is very shiny and great! Awesome job on the all little details and those tires with those wheels are just perfect to this! Very nice job so keep it going!
  8. Thank you all for the replies. For Mark, I think that this car has '71/'72 bumbers and rearend of the body... But that roof is like '73/'74. Now I don't know, what I must do so please help me! An other little problem... Decals I had in the box are the same ones than AMX's so there are Drag On Lady decals! Maybe a mistake at Jo-Han's shop because on the Finnish forum one guy had those Hurst decals as in the box art. I have to buy one set of them but they are very hard to find here from Finland. Davezinn, yeah, I can believe that you aren't very happy for that trade, I'm trying to keep this project going, maybe today I start modifications to the chassis and interior... Mike, post pics from your build too, I can't see these too much on the workbench!
  9. I got this one today and I started building immediately. The is is just like the AMX, not so good one so I have to do all the same modifications... This is a 2'n1 kit, you can build a Pro Stock or Stock version and there comes four stock tires where are very good whitewalls as used to be in Jo-Han kits. Also original parts are coming to the engine too, air cleaner, valve covers which will be painted, cast exhaust manifold, intake manifold and carburetor. This is Pro Stocker but I'll make this being Super Stock because in early 70's these classes were really close to each others. Lot's of work in the interior, seats are molded to floor and have to remove them. There is also the backseat and I have to ask, does Super Stock cars have backseat...? Engine seems to be the same than AMX one so I started modification work, first I used forceps, then dremel and knife. Then a bit of styrene to that hole and last some bondo. Chassis is bad, rear axle, leaf springs, propeller shaft... are molded to chassis and pipes are too! 10. This is very nice looking combo! That Nomad is very great looking nicely you done that two tone colour. This is very great looking. I'm building '57 Nomad too but it's going to be a gasser! But next build to the workbench and keep on the good work!
  11. This is the kit I have to buy! You got amazing building skills and that engine is awesome as the chassis! And this looks perfect in the mockup pictures. Great work, keep it going!
  12. WOW!!! That's amazing, impressive, awesome and great! Love H-Bodys and that Vega is unbelieveble because of your building skills and that body model! Paintjob and detailing is very great all over!
  13. Don't post pics from your 1:1 car! No that's very impressive, good work! That awesome paintjob and nicely fitting decals are very nice ones. The engine detailing is super! And those wheels: These are the best American Racing wheels I've ever seen. I mean they are the most realistic ones because of you, Fleetline! Oh and I had to say, that vinyl top is awesome too. Ten points!
  14. Nice paintjob and letters! Also that engine looks very nice and the detailing is awesome! Good job so keep it going!
  15. Very nice model and very good model choice! Vegas, Monzas, Skyhawks, Starfires... were very popular drag cars on the seventies. Maybe because they all were light but with big engine they gone fast! Great build, nicely those decals are on the body and very good detailing all over. That Allison V12 is very nasty, I have it too... But in my garage there is one '79 Skyhawk project so that's why these are interesting!

    Falcon

WOW, man that's awesome! Very good looking, nicely done good paintjob and very nice stance! Love gassers. Only one thing what I don't like: Too less pics! Post more pics from this real nice Falcon gasser.
  17. That's very nice! Good paintjob, very nicely done modifications and those tires/wheels are just pefect to this. That text on the door and a stripe are looking very good too! Good job, keep it going!
  18. You bought Checkers...? Model kits from Checker, diecasts...? Anyway, great project and very nicely you made those modofications and that paint looks nice! But one thing from Checkers, in Finland here were the olympics in 1952. From USA came lots of old taxi Checkers. Now in 2010, here is only one Checker what is moving with no help. And also it's original I mean no parts changed ever!!! That Checker is from 40's.
  19. I have one Jimmy Flintstone body. It's '60 Chevrolet Nomad. I have only the body, everything else comes from Revell '60 Impala kit. I think that body is very good, I mean high quality. No much airbubbles and that body seems to be just like '60 Nomad, one '60 Impala in the garage so I know how does it look like. That Jimmy's body is very close and when I did some test fit, '60 Impala's chassis will fit very well to the Nomad. Only the resin is always thick mold so when I open the hood, I must sand very much resin from the other side... I think that Impala's hood isn't perfect to it. Also have to sand resin from wheel wells. Interior is a bit of problem too... When I start this project, it will be hard!
  20. So do you mean, davezinn that I have to change those valve covers...? This project had a little break, maybe I'll continue this on next week... But I have to look for those valve covers if I have to change them. Don't won't to build 427 engine with 429 valve covers! And this isn't going to be 100% real NASCAR, I build this to NASCAR yes but this is an imagine NASCAR. So don't have a real driver or number aren't correct ones. So what I'll do with the hood is this: I paint it just gloss black, add those decals and then a few coats of clear. Same as true to lower body.
  21. On that mock up picture, it looks like a real Pro Mod! Very nice job, that ride height is just perfect! Keep on the good work!!!
  22. Yeah, I can't understand too! I have to buy just that Competition Parts pack! There comes a few of very good engines and that Altered body. But this model is very nicely built, paintjob looks great, nice detailing on the engine and good colour choices! This is one of the best ones I have ever seen from Partspack! So all I can say is just keep it going! Your builds are always awesome!
  23. Continued working with this. I fixed my f... I mean I fixed my ''oops'' with that dipstick. So I took it off and made a new one, but that comes to the engine. I made it from lead. I added that wire coming from carburetor and it ends somewhere under that fuel injection system... I have to build a new exhaust pipes from scratch because Black Widows didn't have mufflers as in the Revell ones... I they also end before rear tires so it's stupid to do very big modifications to these what are in the box. I can make new ones on the same time... But here are the pics. Let me know, what you think.
  24. This is very nice and very very smooth! Good looking custom Cadillac, that new top is looking good on it and fenderskirts are simply awesome! Now I have go to build my '56 Chevy lead sled because now I have much inspiration to make a big modifications. Thank you for sharing this awesome smooth custom Caddy!
  25. WOW, what a project!!! This is one of my dream builds, I have to buy that Corvette body sometimes. Great job so far, that chassis is very nice, where it's from...? Very nice paintjob on it and a big plus point from very nicely painted white area! I'll be watching this one so keep it going!
