  1. Very cool builds... As usual! I have to say that even if I'm definitely not a Rat Rod person, but that first '57 Nomad looks excellent. That Car-Toon version looks really cool, too. Do you have any more pictures of it somewhere?
  2. Woo Hoo it's great to see someone building a Junior Stocker, especially when the builder knows what he is doing by knowing the rules of NHRA Stock class. The engine and your chassis work looks really good so far. I can't wait to see more, Junior Stockers are my favorite build subjects, too.
  3. Thanks Chris. Glad to hear you enjoyed! And I'm sorry I forgot to post more, but here we go again: Some more Super Stock. Can't see the classes though. Here is SS/HA Ford Mustang and a Chevy Camaro Super Stock. That Camaro was bought to Finland later and it has been racing actively since then. Last year I was driving a couple of qualifying runs against it too. Here is a picture of that Camaro in 2014: http://tapahtumakuvia.kuvat.fi/kuvat/Tapahtumat+2014/Bl%C3%A5kl%C3%A4der+Finals,+Motopark+16.-17.8.2014/Sunday/DSCN7803.JPG Then one Super Gas car, a '66 Chevelle. Then Competition Eliminator. AA/A Corvette driven by Dan Nickelson. Castrol Sponsored Oldsmobile is driven by David Nickens:
  4. Your models are always so nicely done. You had a great year for sure. They are all so nice and clean that picking my favorite is absolutely impossible. But great work on every one of them, I can't wait to see what you can come up with this year.
  5. This is an interesting project for sure. Great job combining those two kits to create a better detailed version of '67 Pontiac. I believe you test fitted the MPC body on Revell chassis and interior before cutting and that it didn't fit? It would have been easier that way if the parts fit together. I'm just asking if I start something similar someday. But really good job with that bodywork. Engine looks smooth too and I like your chassis. I can't wait to see more.
  6. Yep, Happy New Year Everyone! It looks like it's one hour and then it's 2015 here in Finland. So I went out for a short drive and shot a picture of my daily driver with a couple of fireworks in the background:
  7. Thanx Fellas!!! I appreciate your kind words, each and everyone ! Happy New Year everyone and I wish everyone good modeling year in 2015. Hopefully I can finish more as I did this year as well.
  8. Finally this '55 Chevy is back on the bench! I sprayed the dashboard with body color and it turned out decent. It will need to be clear coated, though before I can continue working on it. Then I sprayed some Primer on the scoop and actually I painted it with Chrome Silver, too. I gotta take a picture of it in paint though. Some more Bondo was applied to the hood as well. Hopefully it will be smooth after this. The main thing was to mask those blue areas from body away and then I sprayed Tamiya's TS-7 Racing White on. So far so good, I will see how it looks next year when the paint is dry. Happy New Year Everyone! Three and half hours and it's 2015!
  9. That sure looks like a good starting point for a build. Saving these old Glue Bombs is a lot of fun. It's really nice to see them coming back to life and I bet it will happen with this one as you're a talented builder. Taking these apart might be interesting, too. Sometimes the parts come apart really easily, but sometimes it seems to be an impossible task. I hope this is one of those easier ones... My AMT '58 Impala definitely wasn't. I can't wait to see more.
  10. I've tried with a paint brush, too. Anyway the door panels are full of flocking material before and after painting them. I've tried with and without masking tape... Maybe it's just me .
  11. Michael: Thanks! Your builds were super clean too, so I appreciate it a lot. Jonathan: I agree, the Oldsmobile looks really good. Thanks for the kind words! I think it's the one I'm the most proud of. I can't wait to see your builds, too, as I know they will be top notch. Happy New Year! Joe: Thanks Buddy! I agree that my skills have improved a lot during the last couple of years. And I think one reason for that is this forum with its great builders and tips & tricks. Heh I knew you'd like the Hemi in that Charger ! Just as much as I like the 409 in that Impala. Happy New Year to you, too. And to everyone else of course as well.
  12. MagicMustang: That is the first time I've seen that Edsel kit built! It looks great. I wish I had one of those on my shelf... Well, maybe someday. Didn't even remember that the '65 Chevelle even existed either. Great looking models!
  13. I understand that problem very well as we have the same kind of problem here in Finland... Though it's not 8 degrees, we had -2 degrees today (Fahrenheits). Anyway this Chrysler turned out really nice!
  14. Thanks for the kind words everyone, they are highly appreciated! Todd: Yes it did ! That car has a 477 Cid Mopar Big Block with a Twin Turbo setup and lots of horsepower. The best ET with that car is 7.89 and here is a video of 7.95 run. And no, it does not go smoothly in this run... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNdlffPF0Lk That's absolutely one of the finest cars in Top Street category with the vinyl top and everything. Carl: I like to see how this build ends up as well. I've never did anything similar so it is a neat challenge to my skills. Hopefully it will turn out good. Gene: Heh, I only wish I would finish these as often as I start new ones... Here is a little update on the Mustang. Roll cage is pretty much done, or I mean that no more tubings will be added. Still I need to smooth out and clean all of the joints before painting. So I added some styrene tubing to the doors and to the back of the cage. I also fitted door panels on place and they fit perfectly. Only problem is the seat which will need very minimal lowering to make it fit perfectly inside that Funny Car cage.
  15. Thanks for asking the situation with that '55, Gene. I'm happy to say it that it's finally back on the bench and I'm going to mask those blue areas away tomorrow and spray some white as the 2nd color on. But it has been sitting just like I left it in early November: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=90198&page=1 Anyway today I did minor progress with this Fiat. I started working with the fuel lines and I made the lines from carburetors to a junction block on bottom plate of the intake manifold. That junction block was made out of beer can aluminum, fuel lines are Scale Dreams' spark plug wire material and fuel line fittings are made out of the rubber part of an electric wire that I painted silver. Next step would be painting the fuel pump and its belt & pulleys. Then I can continue working with those fuel lines.
  16. Good looking builds for sure! That Straight Axle '55 Chevy must be my favorite even if I've always preferred shiny paint jobs. Your rusting just looks so good! Excellent job on that one, but the others look really good too.
  17. This turned out really good! This body has never been one of my personal favorites either, but I have to say that this looks very, very good. Your paint and detail work is always so nice and clean, but as always... That incredible BMF work blows me away. I hope you can get around taking a couple of outside pics for us. Not that there's something wrong with these, but models always seem to look even better in outside shots.
  18. What ? I think it's almost impossible to do a clean flocking job if door panels are molded in. Even if I hide the door panels with masking tape when I spray some paint to the floor and add the flocking, once I take the tape off a lot of flocking will stick to the door panels and they are almost impossible to keep clean. Also foiling the chrome trim on molded in door panels is a real pain in the... Well you know where. That's why I never use flocking if door panels are molded in. If they're not, I will. Of course if someone has good tips how to keep those door panels clean of flocking, I'd highly appreciate it.
  19. Thank You Jeremy! Your builds are super-nice so I really appreciate the kind words.
  20. That's a very cool kit! (Yep I have a '60 Impala in the garage). I bought one of those kits too and my plan is to build a Mild Custom as well. If you want to install a detailed chassis to replace that one piece chassis that comes with the kit, AMT '59 El Camino chassis will work with a little modifications. If I remember correctly it will have to be widened a bit and maybe some other minor modifications, but nothing too hard. As for the Street Fighter kits, I don't know as I don't have any of them...Yet. Anyway I'll be looking closely if (when) you post a WIP thread of this one.
  21. Wow, a big bunch of good looking models right there! It's always great to see that someone has been able to finish this many models. Especially that GMC Van looks really good to me. Is that one the AMT A Team Van kit?
  22. Thanks Everyone! The kind words mean a lot & keep me going. Cliff: I'm glad you enjoy seeing what I've built. I hope you'll have a good 2015 as well, I really enjoy seeing your nice and clean builds as well. And Traditional style is my favorite, too. Michael: Yep that is true ! Actually I'm building a V8 Boat and a trailer and it will be towed with that Oldsmobile. It should be done next year. Peter & Mike: That Oldsmobile is probably the best build I did this year. I think it has the best paint job and when considering what modifications I had to do, it might be the best of them. But stylewise my favorite is that '62 Impala, nothing beats an old Stock / Super Stock Drag Car. Bruce: Hopefully I can keep them coming. I should have two models finished in early 2015 though. That would be a good start. Bob: Yep, three seems to be "the thing" this year. And while looking at your and other people's builds too, I'm definitely in a good company too. I hope I can start the '73 Chevelle next year. I took a break of creating the master for my Frontrunner tires but I think I must finish it now and send it to the resin caster. Then I can get going with that Chevelle. I can't wait! James: Happy 2015 for you, too! I enjoy seeing your builds as well. They're always so nice and clean. And thanks everyone else, too! I highly appreciate all comments. Thanks !
  23. Looks like you had a good year, too. I always enjoy seeing what you come up with as your next build subject. That Little T is really sweet, but as I'm Drag Racing with a '74 Chevelle, the El Camino must be my favorite. But all of them are really nice and clean, thanks for sharing them and can't wait to see what you'll build in 2015.
  24. Your work is always top notch and I always enjoy seeing your latest pieces of art. I really like Traditional cars and they all are so nice that it's impossible to pick a favorite. I can't wait to see what you'll come up with next year.
  25. All of them are really nicely done! Looks like you had a good year. That Hemi Dart and Firebird are my favorites, but all of them look very good. Great work.
