  1. WOW!!! It's so great to see someone building a '73-'77 Chevelle / El Camino. Especially it's nice to see a '74 as I drive Stock Eliminator with '74 Chevelle. Your body work looks fantastic so far. That's a lot of cutting and slicing for sure, but looks like a talented modeler has no problems with it. This really gets me motivated on starting my Missing Link '73 Chevelle. And who knows if I might find myself from eBay buying one of those Stock Car Malibus to do a conversion of '74 Chevelle.... Keep on building, I'll follow this one very closely.
  2. Yep, doing a Burnout with a Dremel and a spare tire works well! Just collect the rubber bits and you can glue them on easily with some clear paint as well.
  3. Not only you build fantastic models, you do it very fast, too! Do you sleep at all ? The talent in this thread makes me really speechless...Fantastic work.
  4. I have a pair of resin Carter AFB's, but I have absolutely no idea where did they come from. Anyway they are top notch quality and need only minor cleanup. Though the carburetor throats need to be drilled open, as always.
  5. That looks really good. I like the cage and I think the wheels and tires look good, too. This will be an interesting project for sure, as you do very good work as your Hemi Cuda proves. I can't wait for more. Here's a little inspiration from Finland: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCrR9onblK8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKdJ9MYl7OE
  6. Thanks Guys for the comments! Unfortunately I've made no progress as I've been very busy with school and Drag Racing stuff. Last weekend there was the season opening in Finnish Championship Drag Race Series and I drove Stock & Super Stock there with the '74 Chevelle. I set four new ET records for that car and four new 60FT records as well. The Eliminator went well, too, now I'm on the third place in the points. And yesterday there was a West Coast Street Cup- event at Pori Airport which is not a Finnish Championship event. I set a new 60 FT record there as well! Anyway I'm planning on getting back to this one real soon. The summer vacation starts in one week, so stay tuned for more updates.
  7. Really nice Grand Am Funny Car. The paint job turned out great after all and the detailing all over is incredible. The engine looks like it could be fired up any moment! Nice work on a rarely seen subject.
  8. Incredible! It must be a lot of fun to build a replica of your own car. This turned out really nice, it matches the 1:1 car and is very well built. Especially the paint job is fantastic. Maybe I gotta get me a '60 Impala and build my dad's car.
  9. Very good looking Studebaker. Just perfect in every way. It looks excellent with the slicks and those wheels. Stance and engine choice is great, too. Model is well built and I like all the little details you've added. That must have been a neat 1:1 ride.
  10. You got very good responses on the glue business. I live here in Finland and I use EriKeeper, but it's probably not available in your area. Personally my favorite way on doing black window trims (I do them very rarely though, as most cars I build have chrome trims so I don't have much experience on this) is that I mask the area and then paint it by paint brush. If I did it with spray, the masks would probably leak from somewhere...
  11. That definitely looks interesting! This is one of the most beautiful Buicks from that era and your scratchbuilding skills will do it a justice. It looks very good already, keep it coming.
  12. One of my favorite Chevrolets of all time. I'm glad you've built one of these and shared it with us, as it's one of the best '62 Bel Airs that I've seen in a long time. Good looking details in the engine bay and smooth paint as well. Your BMF work still amazes me, even if I know every time I see your post that it's gonna be awesome. Nice job.
  13. Welcome to the forum! The 1:1 car is not actually something that interests me, but you did an excellent job with it! Especially if it really is your first one, it's a lot better than mine. A tip that will help you when installing clear parts. Use white glue instead of regular Model Cement or Super Glue. White glue will dry invisible so it doesn't matter if a bit of it goes on wrong place. Another thing that I'd suggest is that you could paint the window surrounds black (I believe they are black in these cars). It will give a more real car look. I think the best way to do this is when you mask the area with tape and then paint it black. Otherwise I think it's just right...Very nice work!
  14. Another Masterpiece from your bench! I like the paint colors, they match very well to each other and to the car body. Smooth and shiny paint job with that super sharp BMF works really nicely. I'm building the same car right now and I hope it'll turn as half as good as this one. Great work!
  15. This is the coolest Volvo 850 that I've seen... Actually I think it's the only cool Volvo 850 that I've ever seen... Great work with the roll cage, I can't wait how this turns out...Keep it going.
  16. Yep, it's not from Estonia, it's from Alastaro, Finland. That's from last season's Final Event where my dad drove our Chevelle. That's a really nice video, as all of his other videos, too. This year I'm driving the car. Just last weekend there was the first race of the season at Motopark Raceway. I ran new record four times and beat another fellow on the first Elimination round. Currently I'm on the 3rd place on Finnish Championship points. Here is a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4srIP030LI4 Edit: On the first video in this thread... Some interesting cars: On the first pair: Arto Sulopuisto with Pontiac Firebird running in B/S. He built the car himself and it is very fast, and it runs almost always more than one second under NHRA Index. Timo Eronen's Barracuda is a SS/AH car with a Hemi. It runs 8,8 ETs at the best. He also has a '70 Challenger with a Hemi running in Stock Eliminator and he is currently building a Hemi Dart for SS/AH, too. On the second pair there's Tarmo Mikkola with a Super Stock Camaro. He finished 2nd on European Drag Racing Series last year. Tarja Gynther's Stock Eliminator Camaro got a new refreshed engine for season 2014 and it ran over half a second faster last weekend than it does on the video. On the third pair there's Hannu Palasmaa with his '71 Chevelle. It's powered by 454 and Manual, but he is having some traction problems. He's a two time Finnish Champion and one time Nordic Champion in Stock & Super Stock. He has built the engine for our car, too. Sami Toppari's AMC AMX is one of the original SS AMX Factory Race Cars. It does huge wheelies and the engine runs on high RPMs. It sounds really good and goes fast. On the fourth pair there was my dad Mika with our Chevelle running against Noora Laine in a '72 Skylark that runs also in K/SA. The cameraman must have missed that pass. On the last pair Harri Hassinen drove his SS/GT Camaro, but he broke a camshaft on that pass. On the other lane was Jarmo Markkanen with a Pontiac Firebird he bought from Jim Waldo.
  17. For me it's this when I hit the throttle and the car leaves with both wheels off the ground. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCacR4N92Ug
  18. Thanks Darryl! I appreciate it! Here's a bit more work with the '61. I started by drilling the carburetor throats open. That was really fast and easy, but made a huge difference as seen on picture #1. Then I painted them with Revell's #91 Silver and once that was dry, I mixed a bit of Humbrol's Clear Orange and some dirty thinner to get a bit like a gold shade on them. I also painted and cleared the intake. Wheel and tire combo is now decided, too. I'm using the tires so that rears are from AMT Racemaster Parts Pack and fronts come from Revell '60 Impala. Wheels are resin cast by a friend of mine. I mocked up the stance, and as I guessed, with higher front tires the front end lifted a bit, but it's still too low. Rear looks pretty good to me, but I will need to move the axle pins a bit on front to get it slightly higher.
  19. Well that definitely is fast Caddy! Too bad that it looks that ugly, IMO. It's way too modern looking for me I guess. This is the true Badillac: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5yIaWQMY_U
  20. Great work as always with the Dog House! You make scratchbuilding look so easy and your builds are a lot of fun to follow. Very nice and clean work with the windshield, too. I'd like to start my Jungle Jim Vega FC every time I see this, but "luckily" I have too many projects going on already.
  21. What is a GB class? Never heard of that before, but I'm pretty sure a Dodge Pickup (?) with an Allison engine will not fit into any category, so it should be an Exhibition/ Wheelie Car.
  22. White Glue is good. It's really cheap compared to the Micro Scale's stuff and it works fine for me doesn't matter if the window was the original kit part or self made from sheet acetate.
  23. I've pretty much said what I can on your previous builds. They are Fantastic!!! Peter pretty much said what I thought when I saw this one. This combines two things I really like, as I like to see different stuff and old kits being built, but I also like very nicely done models... Really nice work. The seats interest me, too. How did you do them?
  24. Very nice Nova and building a Sleeper is a good idea! You made it into a true Sleeper. If there was no engine picture, I'd thought it's a nice and clean Factory Stock build. I like the look with that flat hood and your color choice is just right. Black wash on the wheels really brings out the detail! Very nice and clean work.
  25. If you want pics of true Gassers that would be NHRA Legal, I'm afraid there are not that many. But when looking at the beautiful builds above, I think I can post this, too even if it is not a Gasser. '59 Simca Vedette: Here is my Gasser Project. A '41 Plymouth that will be set in G/G with Ford Flathead and Hilborn Fuel Injection. It got kinda stalled, though, I wish I got it rolling again.
