  1. Yep, it's not from Estonia, it's from Alastaro, Finland. That's from last season's Final Event where my dad drove our Chevelle. That's a really nice video, as all of his other videos, too. This year I'm driving the car. Just last weekend there was the first race of the season at Motopark Raceway. I ran new record four times and beat another fellow on the first Elimination round. Currently I'm on the 3rd place on Finnish Championship points. Here is a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4srIP030LI4 Edit: On the first video in this thread... Some interesting cars: On the first pair: Arto Sulopuisto with Pontiac Firebird running in B/S. He built the car himself and it is very fast, and it runs almost always more than one second under NHRA Index. Timo Eronen's Barracuda is a SS/AH car with a Hemi. It runs 8,8 ETs at the best. He also has a '70 Challenger with a Hemi running in Stock Eliminator and he is currently building a Hemi Dart for SS/AH, too. On the second pair there's Tarmo Mikkola with a Super Stock Camaro. He finished 2nd on European Drag Racing Series last year. Tarja Gynther's Stock Eliminator Camaro got a new refreshed engine for season 2014 and it ran over half a second faster last weekend than it does on the video. On the third pair there's Hannu Palasmaa with his '71 Chevelle. It's powered by 454 and Manual, but he is having some traction problems. He's a two time Finnish Champion and one time Nordic Champion in Stock & Super Stock. He has built the engine for our car, too. Sami Toppari's AMC AMX is one of the original SS AMX Factory Race Cars. It does huge wheelies and the engine runs on high RPMs. It sounds really good and goes fast. On the fourth pair there was my dad Mika with our Chevelle running against Noora Laine in a '72 Skylark that runs also in K/SA. The cameraman must have missed that pass. On the last pair Harri Hassinen drove his SS/GT Camaro, but he broke a camshaft on that pass. On the other lane was Jarmo Markkanen with a Pontiac Firebird he bought from Jim Waldo.
  2. For me it's this when I hit the throttle and the car leaves with both wheels off the ground. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UCacR4N92Ug
  3. Thanks Darryl! I appreciate it! Here's a bit more work with the '61. I started by drilling the carburetor throats open. That was really fast and easy, but made a huge difference as seen on picture #1. Then I painted them with Revell's #91 Silver and once that was dry, I mixed a bit of Humbrol's Clear Orange and some dirty thinner to get a bit like a gold shade on them. I also painted and cleared the intake. Wheel and tire combo is now decided, too. I'm using the tires so that rears are from AMT Racemaster Parts Pack and fronts come from Revell '60 Impala. Wheels are resin cast by a friend of mine. I mocked up the stance, and as I guessed, with higher front tires the front end lifted a bit, but it's still too low. Rear looks pretty good to me, but I will need to move the axle pins a bit on front to get it slightly higher.
  4. Well that definitely is fast Caddy! Too bad that it looks that ugly, IMO. It's way too modern looking for me I guess. This is the true Badillac: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5yIaWQMY_U
  5. Great work as always with the Dog House! You make scratchbuilding look so easy and your builds are a lot of fun to follow. Very nice and clean work with the windshield, too. I'd like to start my Jungle Jim Vega FC every time I see this, but "luckily" I have too many projects going on already.
  6. What is a GB class? Never heard of that before, but I'm pretty sure a Dodge Pickup (?) with an Allison engine will not fit into any category, so it should be an Exhibition/ Wheelie Car.
  7. White Glue is good. It's really cheap compared to the Micro Scale's stuff and it works fine for me doesn't matter if the window was the original kit part or self made from sheet acetate.
  8. I've pretty much said what I can on your previous builds. They are Fantastic!!! Peter pretty much said what I thought when I saw this one. This combines two things I really like, as I like to see different stuff and old kits being built, but I also like very nicely done models... Really nice work. The seats interest me, too. How did you do them?
  9. Very nice Nova and building a Sleeper is a good idea! You made it into a true Sleeper. If there was no engine picture, I'd thought it's a nice and clean Factory Stock build. I like the look with that flat hood and your color choice is just right. Black wash on the wheels really brings out the detail! Very nice and clean work.
  10. If you want pics of true Gassers that would be NHRA Legal, I'm afraid there are not that many. But when looking at the beautiful builds above, I think I can post this, too even if it is not a Gasser. '59 Simca Vedette: Here is my Gasser Project. A '41 Plymouth that will be set in G/G with Ford Flathead and Hilborn Fuel Injection. It got kinda stalled, though, I wish I got it rolling again.
  11. I can wait to see this one! Another terrific build coming from your bench, John. That 1:1 bike looks very wild, I wish I could see someone really driving it. It can't be that easy anyway. And thanks for posting a link to this thread in your other WIP thread. Otherwise I might have seen this one the first time in Under Glass.
  12. Thanks Guys! First, I have to congratulate Mark. You did a great job with your Impala. I think if it was photographed in a "natural environment" it would be tough to tell if it's a real car or a model... Then the scoop. I was a bit afraid that no one would know how the scoop actually was attached. I've been thinking it a lot and I thought I would do so that I'll install the Carters regularly under the hood, then I'll drill two round holes on the hood over the carburetors and then make the scoop with also those two holes in the bottom plate. That would make air go to the carbs I guess. Of course if anyone has a better idea, I'd really appreciate hearing it, but for now I think this might be my best way. I'm sorry there's not much done. I've been very busy with the high school stuff and also we're building our Stock Eliminator Chevelle to be ready for the season opening that's coming in a bit over a week. Anyway I stripped paint from the intake. All paint didn't come off, so I have to continue removing it manually when I have time for that. The carburetors are resin pieces but I have no idea who made them.
  13. I'm a huge fan of Music, too. My favorite band is The Go Getters from Sweden. Here are a couple of covers: Everyone knows Rocky Burnette's Hip Shakin' Baby? Here's Go Getters' version. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnQa0ybtCTY And Ramones' Blitzkrieg Bop? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=917hy3jclkA
  14. That's definitely a good looking Figure (And I actually meant the casting ). Too bad the price is that high, probably that will make me skip this one. If they're in Russia, that's not a problem as Finland is right next to it. Though buying that one would save a lot of time preparing the worse figures for paint...
  15. You're the "Wagon Master". Not only you build fantastic Longroofs, actually many of them are a result of a hard conversion rather than a ready resin body. Really nice work here with all of the scratchbuilding and it paid off. This looks like real car. Excellent job.
  16. Good looking Plymouth FC! Building Box Stock can be a challenge (I believe I'd have trouble building Box Stock, too), but you did a great job with it. Nice paint job and good work with the decals, they fit nicely on the body shapes. How did you paint the grille? The silver "ribs" look so clean and even. Did you paint it first with silver and then by adding black wash, or....? I've built the same kit years ago and I remember it had no major fit issues. The frame was a bit tricky to assemble, but maybe it was because I was not very experienced back then. This makes me want to buy another one and build it better than I did before.
  17. You build fantastic models! I have to admit that I'm really not a BMW fan, but this car looks pretty good - and your model makes it a justice. Nicely painted and detailed all over. The top isn't that bad, I think it's actually very good and much better than I could do. This is yet another car that looks better with the top on, IMO. Great work all over!
  18. Very nice work! I'm with Rob, I've never been a huge fan of those bubble tops, but here it looks excellent. All body mods are nicely done and paint job looks flawless, too. It describes well how high quality Customs there are on Swedish Model Car Shows if this was left as third (Even if that's not bad either). Very nice work.
  19. Very nicely done Super Bee. I like the paint job. Also that green fits well with flat black hood and that huge Cowl Induction Scoop. Great detailing on the engine, too. Only thing that really bothers me is that the wheels and tires look horrible, as I think the wheels are way too big and tires should have more profile. Well, other than that, I really like it!
  20. I can't wait to see them all. This might not be a big surprise for anyone who knows me, but both, the Pontiac and the Comet will be built as Drag Cars when they're out. The Pontiac will make a very cool Super Stock car, but I'm still not quite sure about the Comet if I should make it a Super Stocker or FX car. The link that Dave posted is a very good one. I've been going through the same thread and there is lots of great inspiration there. When thinking that previous Moebius Models' kits have been top notch quality, maybe the best I've ever built, I can't wait to have these on my stashes. Another thing I like is that Dave Mezner is really posting on these forums and letting us know the plans when the kits should be in the stores and that kind of stuff. Not many companies do that, and in my opinion, they should. Keep the kits coming.
  21. It looks very good! Nice to see more Super Stockers being built. Yours is done very nicely so I'd like to see more pics if you are planning on taking more of them. You said it's box stock except the decals... Did the rear tires also come with the kit? And what kit is that, I need to get a couple of them!
  22. Of course Google is the first. It finds basically everything, and it's much faster than if I started to scan through books. Another good sources are for sale ads, as especially many highly restored cars have tons of pics of all details there. For old Race Cars, mostly Stock or Super Stock cars I like to use books, as they have lots of great information too.
  23. No problem, John. I was just worried if I had missed the pictures, as that's something I really don't want to do.
  24. By The Way did you post the finished pics already somewhere? I'm just wondering as I don't want to miss that post.
  25. Looks like you know how to build these Late '50s or Early '60s cars. On these cars the foiling is one of the most critical things to do and all of your BMF works are fantastic. Nice paint job and very clean build overall. It is also nice to see these unique subjects being built.
