  1. at my local model club at the raffle they had this cool organizer won it today.... will come in handy....
  2. Yes they do i did a mold of a jewelry piece and when i would pour the mold I did not take care to pull off the excess resin so some are thicker than others, I could go back in and re pour them but would use a lot of resin so ill just take my time and sand them till they all are very thin and fit the corners just right.
  3. Decided to take another crack at a hood hinge, this one works a lot better, it still needs to be slide out as it is opened but works better than all the other attempts... have had this idea for a while but if I go for it will take hours to get the pyramids sanded thin and shaped to fit the best but this is about the only good place for them on the project as tiles under the '32.
  4. Finally got the both doors hinged... and the floor got a sliver of foam sanded down thin enough as a floor.
  5. not much of an update this morning I usually get a full night in Sunday night but had other things to take care of so what little time I did use I had to build up the wall around the wheel wells in the rear to not show the plastic used for the floor of the 32, got the pass door hinge on the pickup, filled in a gap at the bottom edges of the firewall with a thing strip of plastic, and played around with placement of other Egyptian items on the under carriage as well at the rear shelf tray of the 32.....
  6. Thanks Carl, my thoughts exactly, may not use them was thinking of trying to paint them first and if the painting comes out ok I may use them unless I can find another place to put them.
  7. Thank you Carl, I have a question for you? do you think the hands on top of the fenders is a bit too much? they have to be painted yet just right to be convincing but was curious as to what others thought, I may not add them for a cleaner look, but will see as it progresses....
  8. very cool loved the movie and the cars............
  9. the rest of the front grill for 32. something I came up with for a Radiator support... rear bumper... not sure if I like the mummy hands on the fenders or not, will have to give those more thought....
  10. yes that's it I couldn't think of the name. I did not realize just how expensive the 1 to1 coolers cost for the real car. wow they are insane.
  11. Thanks Bill that is cool thank you for sharing.
  12. Thanks Glenn i am not good at scribing so the thought of trying it again was to much after all. I already opened the door and I was looking at it I may just hinge it, if not it will be easy now to add some plastic to the top of the roof over the door to straighten it out and then gluing it back in place with thin strips of plastic strip.
  13. Thank you Mike, I thought about that at first and your right about the harder filler which would be hard to re scribe in, you are probably right , I would open them up and hinge the doors but the front fender is very close to the door and the door would work better tucking in under the fender so Im gonna give that a try, I can add more plastic to the door and body to fix it.
  14. I just started a brand new project and messed up the body line over the top of the drivers door. I made the mistake of not making the door gap deeper before sanding off the drip rail and as I tried to make the door gap more pronounced and it got off track, its actually higher at the front of the door than the back of the door. My question is , is there a way to fix this by maybe filling in the gap and re scribing over it? It is not that big of deal but when I look at it I can see it and its annoying me that I did not scribe the door line deeper before sanding off the drip rail.
  15. front and rear bumper idea.... hands attached to frame to hold the bumpers... ideas for tie downs... a modified tie down.
  16. Jake, I think I am, liking the idea more and more. Especially the hieroglyphics.
  17. Thank you very much I love these tuts that use common model supplies and have a professional end result. thank you for sharing it with us.
  18. very good thank you for sharing.
  19. agreed love the weathering would love to learn how to be that good!
  20. this is not part of the theme but noticed how well a sand trooper action figure helmet fit a Sphinx and said why not, Ill have to add one in this build some where..... just like this hieroglyphic someone Photoshopped, kinda gave me the idea as well.
  21. I primarily build low riders and they have an accessory that was an air cooler in the old days, I use photo etched screen for the vent screen but its hard to cut and shape, as I was cleaning today and picked up my simple green spray I noticed that they have put a mesh screen in the tip that goes over the end for it and was thinking if carefully cut out and sanded would work great for this task in the future or for any other place where a small screen or mesh would be needed, the photos of my hell train build shows how I scratched the air cooler with the wire mesh, I will try to use this in the next project that I build.
  22. wow have thought about adding them but not sure how this tip is off the hook thank you for sharing....
  23. I was born and lived in Benton Harbor Michigan from 1967 to 1980 and Ill tell you that they could give me the state and I would not go back there to claim it, I remember as a kid being able to walk up on top of the roof from snow drifts!!! Yuck I love California and San Diego has paradise weather, was there in 2012 for a weeks vacation and would move there if I had the cash. Beautiful place yes it has its draw backs but every state does. Especially where I am living now.
