  2. getting the firewall ready for the hood hinge...
  3. If you have a Michaels in your area they should have some too, not 100% sure but any craft store should stock it! and while your there check out their stock of decorated papers, felt and sheets of foam like this with the sparkles... also they have a chromed card stock that if you cut them up in smaller pieces a lot of lowrider builders use it for the little cut mirrors from the '70s style lowrider interiors, and the section for scrap booking has a ton of ideas as well.....the lighter sheet of gold above photo is the glittery stuff on foam just like the stuff you can emboss the darker sheet of gold above is on card stock just like the card stock that has the chrome look. the shiny sheet with the small holes stamped in it is the chromed paper hard to get a got shot of it when not cut down for the interior. I am on layitlow.com and they have a lot of modelers that build incredible lowrider interiors and that is where I got all these ideas.............
  4. Ken, and after your inquiry got me thinking of the other possible embossing things to do with the foam...special shapes that can be drawn or pressed into it many possibilities ....It now has me thinking of trying it out on a rods door panels........
  5. wow me likey this thing is totally off the wall but very creative...............
  6. Ditto and I could not have said it any better....
  7. wow very unique loving the idea and on board to watch this one come to the finish line!!! Very nice start.
  8. its great stuff to work with you don't have to use it for button tuft you can use it for other things to emboss, i haven't tried it yet but pretty sure it could be used for the old tuck and roll upholstery as well. this is the device that I use to get the striaght lines its a paper cutter that I took a file to the round cutting wheel to take the edge of so that it does not cut but will emboss and when I get a minute im gonna try just some straight lines for tuck and roll should work great for that as well.
  9. the only pics I have of the old stuff and its only back to 1984: these two from about the same time: and these last two late 1990's
  10. Disabled Modeler that really sucks to here that and to think they probably do not care about building them I am sure they were worried about how much they could get for them Man that sucks.................one way to look at the bright side thou is that they were gone before you got back and they did not harm you in anyway.
  11. Maybe for that price they only made one..... just kidding but being on ebay they ask any price they want, not going to happen for one figure thou.
  12. Michael, I get the foam at hobby lobby and it comes in this package, was just there today and see that they have it in larger individual sheets as well. Sorry for the bad photo but its called silly winks plus you get to use your 40% coupon I pay just over $3.00 for a package like this and it comes will all the colors in the rainbow plus black, brown, and other colors and two sheets each color.
  13. Thank you Carl, yes have new inspiration on this one, more ideas and more to come soon.....
  14. going to add some button tufted upholstery to this build, been trying to fine tune my take on this technique and have been itching to add it to a build this is the one.....
  15. getting the trailer suspension finished.... also suspension on the truck..... and getting work done on the hinges for the doors, I always wait to the very last minute to do this task as it can be frustrating to get them to work right. But in order to get the interior finished I have to get the hinges done and working right to be able to get the door panels attached.....
  16. finished seats with base final door panel design.
  17. im liking this one probably will go with this one.

  21. all of the molds I have made I still have some of my speaker and skull molds I have made at least a hundred of each and the molds are still like the day I poured them, only more intricate molds would wear down faster if they are two part with a lot of under cuts, I molded a custom lowrider seat once and only got about 25 out of the molds till it tore apart because it had some serious under cuts around the arms of the seat, but window cranks you should be able to make unlimited amount of them and still have a perfect mold. I have only lost two molds out of the say 100 i have made heres a pic of my mold collection.
  22. Steve as a side note I have used silly putty to mold stuff that small using 5 min epoxy, you take the window crank and place it on a sheet of glass then take a ball of silly putty and take a smaller piece of it off and place over the part and press really hard after that put in freezer for an hour or so then remove from freezer remove the part and mix the five min epoxy and pour in the putty, let cure and let putty get back to room temperature and then you can remove the part from the putty I have had good luck with that method on tiny parts, plus the putty is reusable again.
  23. all of these pieces were made with a one piece mold from the same casting kit most of all for my current Egyptian Raider build. Steve I have used this brand for over 10 years and even larger items it gives great detail in the parts, I have done mostly 1 piece parts but if you look at my builds I use a ton of casted parts you will love the results by just following the instructions and next time you go to hobby lobby use the 40% coupon they have on their website or the smart phone app i get it for 20.00 for that same mini casting kit.
  24. good stuff to work with just dries way to fast but small stuff is great all I use.
