  1. i don't know al.........i think a twin mccullough supercharged donovan would be the ticket here. hehe.
  2. this should be a great build for you john!!!!!! can't wait to see it unfold.
  3. you could check out mooneyes (chris) prudhome vega build.
  4. here's my outlaw 10.5 camaro. in 1/8 scale.
  5. for what kind of car? drgaster, funny car, pro mod, prostock, vintage, modern......etc. . there are dozens of variations.
  6. i know what you mean about the 53 year old eyes, jim. that's why i build 1/8 scale......hehe. car looks great! hope you stay with the large stuff.
  7. here are some shots of a carbon rotor. please remember, this is one carbon rotor, from one manufacturer. there are other designs. it is not the "be all to end all" on carbon rotors................and yes these are 11" rotors.
  8. scott, no problem. the tabs are no more than .060' thick maybe even .040". they're chromoly.
  9. scott, these look great! makes me want to build in 1/16 scale! in case you want to know. the window bezels, if you draw them up with a 5.5" i.d. would make great exhausts bezels on the fenders also. kind of a 2-fer. as far as the brakes go. today, the NHRA mandates carbon brakes in all the pro catagories. other sanctioning bodies may or may not dictate their use. i'm only telling you what the NHRA mandates. steel rotors with slots and holes are still used in a lot of applications. so, if scott can do all of them, that's a bonus. that's his call. bart, if you have 4 wheel brakes. you wouldn't run carbon brakes on one axle. either all or none. they brake totally different than conventional brakes and would be a severe hazard. any questions? please ask.
  10. you'll appreciate the added weight and strength over a sherline when you go to do any kind of roughing in, bill. i think for the price, this is a big bang for the buck item. plus all of the adequetly sized vices, rotary tables and other accessories will bolt to your table. nice piece!
  11. FYI. the correct thickness for the front motor plates in 1:1 is .250" or 1/4". even on an 8000 h.p. funny car (that would be todays funny cars). in 1/16 scale that would be .016" thick material.
  12. very cool!!!!!!
  13. this is just an incredible build tyrone! i have a shot of this car in the pits (i downloaded of the internet somewhere) and i can't tell you how close this is, to that picture. just incredible!
  14. the fit on that cage looks perfect tyrone. doin' your homework up front pays off big at the end. p.s. the stance is incredible!!!
  15. i hope everything turns out o.k. don. darn cameras go everywhere now.
  16. here are the rules for the flooring. i hope this clears it it up. NHRA / PRO MOD FLOOR Driver’s-side floor pan must be steel and must be welded in place. Remainder of stock floors may be replaced with .024-inch steel, .032-inch aluminum, or NHRA-accepted carbon fiber. Magnesium interior panels prohibited. See General Regulations 7:5. ADRL / PX FLOORS: Replacing stock floors with .024" steel or .032" aluminum allowed (.032 on any vehicle using any percentage of nitromethane for fuel). Driver's side floor pan must be .024" steel (.032 on any vehicle using any percentage of nitromethane for fuel) and must be welded in place extending from firewall to back of driver's seat. Carbon fiber or composite materials may not be utilized in any portion of the flooring in the driver's compartment except for any panel located behind the driver including suspension covers and wheel tubs. clay, ahhhhhh, never mind! LOL!
  17. really nice looking stuff goin' on, joe. since you picked red anodize for the wheels. do you have a plan for the paint yet?
  18. holy cow!!!! can it possibly be? looks great in primer, chris!
  19. tyrone, the chassis looks extremely good. you're definately on the right track!
  20. again clay, you defy all the boundaries!!! smokin' work!!
  21. chris, all teams MUST weld in the drivers floor. it is mandatory.
  22. my apologies but, you wrote that you were looking for more of a stock type setup. at that point all of these pro mod/ pro stock rear suspensions, that people were posting, became mute. if you've changed your mind,....great! i was trying to save people the time of posting suspensions that you weren't looking for.
  23. wow dude! you just don't quit do you?
  24. it's all pretty much irrelevant at this point. he's doing a stock rear suspension.
  25. thanks robert! surman you may also want to watch clays kemps pro mod build. it don't git no better than that. all of these pro mods you see getting built share the same rear suspension as alot of the well funded 10.5 cars.
