  1. JT - what are the odds, I got a FLC delivered today also. One of my favorite trucks to work on when I turned wrenches for Freightliner. (no plastic fairings)
  2. This is a Super looking Freightliner. That color scheme just jumps out , yep I am impressed with this one !
  3. This is a kit I have always wanted myself. After you get yours built and all the bugs worked out I will pick one up !
  4. The Revell "snap" Peterbilt and Kenworth in 1/25 scale are just the ticket. Both can be found for under $24.00 and the possibilities are endless. Sleepers can be sawed off , frames shortened or lengthened. Lot of guys use the Mobious wheel set to really dress them up. Just a few that were easy to find http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=94224 http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=95301
  5. Wow, what a great pleasure it has been looking over the past three pages. I did not see anything I wouldnt want on my shelf. All of you guys are amazing with your trucks. This year was pretty sparse for model building. I have two that I finished - An old Cali Hauler off ebay that the engine was built by "Glue Bombed Industries" And Freightliner Coe I backdated to 1968 You guys have definetly motivated me to get back to work.
  6. It is not all gone, there are students who still ride their horses to school where my Wife teaches at in Montana.
  7. Richard - This is a fantastic thread you started. I copied your original and gave it to my Wife who teaches a "one room schoolhouse" in Montana. She enjoyrd very much also. Thank you for the good memories !
  8. Casey - You hit the lotto with those kits. I had all those 1/32 trucks many years ago and really enjoyed building them and admiring them on the shelf. Are you going to build them or hide them in the model vault ?
  9. Wow, that hood has me seeing double ! Awesome idea and fabrication Terry. Projects like this always makes the hobby exciting.
  10. Pavel - That is one of the nicest kits of this type I have seen built. Amazing !
  11. It took me over a year to find one of these kits back in May. Just like anything else - once you get one in the stash, you find them everywhere. $55.00 BIN off the Bay !
  12. Fantastic - That truck looks like all it needs is some fresh gas and a jump and you would be good to roll ! Very nice work
  13. Chuck that is one long looking frame you got going there . Nice project to come out of the crypt ! I have a Daycab Lonestar also that I need to build.
  14. Looking for for someone that drives a 2007 (or close to that year) T800 . Post if you do and I will contact you via P/M. Thanks for looking
  15. I have been collecting a few Mack's lately
  16. The DD Freightliner can be converted real easy. If you need the rear cab windows ask someone for a template from the SD kit. The DD kit still has the rear glass included.
  17. Dave spend a few hours reading the different builds on this truck. (go back at least 20 - 30 pages on the workbench) The axle is too wide , as everyone said. I forgot how many mm's I shortened mine. If you are building an older truck before front brakes were required it is ok. If using the kit brake drums they tires will stick out like a mudder truck. The instructions show the cab realease handles wrong - handles face down not up. A lot of builds have trouble with the shift tower also. Not my build but a good reference
  18. Those are some sharp looking wreckers. They should of just left that car in the hole for fill . It wasnt worth recovering.
  19. Greg - that is a really unusual pic. I wonder what type of glue they used.. I spotted this circus a few years back, looked up and saw it rolling in. Barely had time to grab my camera. The sign really made the pic.
  20. That looks super cool.
  21. These guys are waiting to be loaded. Nice day in here , currently -17 last time I checked.
  22. Those who served , currently serving have my utmost respect. Americans sleep peacefully in their beds at night because tough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf. William E Davis Master Chief US Navy 1941 - 1964 (Father) XXX Davis US Navy Security Forces currently serving (Son)
  23. JT- this is really looking good. Your attention to detail and custom work is making this a fine example for others to follow.
  24. This will be a really fun project to watch. Nice start, will you have the '55 as well ? I wonder what came in that crate next to the sign .. It amazes me to see pictures of these old places that did the coolest work. Shops nowdays are huge with tools of every type and dont even compare to the old school work and paint.
