  1. If the originals had looked this nice they might of sold more ! This is one Impressive beautiful build. Nothing on it makes it look like a model. Thumbs up on this one !
  2. This one is now on the shelf Thank you for following
  3. I really like this one, the wheels and tires look super after being painted. Chassis is top notch also !
  4. Oh yeah, one of my most favorite pieces of equipment. Very much looking forward to this one transpire. (I wish I had a model kit for every hour I spent contortioned down in the cab floor access on these )
  5. JT - I think Trumpeter has them or use to anyway. These are real popular with aircraft builders. I had one but I am pretty sure I gave it away.
  6. This 379 belongs to one of my neighbors, he hauls a lot of hay and cattle with it. You can hear that Cat rumbling up the road 10 miles away.
  7. Man, I reallly like this one. You really did a fine job on the Pete. What brand of paint and color did you use on this ? I have been looking all over for a rootbeer or nice brown. Can you also tell how you make the grease on the 5th wheel ? Thanks for showing this
  8. Yes, I will second that. I had wondered what happened to him. Hope to see you back real soon Alan !
  9. Jesse - I am glad you like the IP, I will write up a little how to tips (or maybe what you should not do) on my method. I use to spend hours detailing 1/72 and 1/48 aircraft IP's. I feel a little guilty as I did not put a lot of time in this one. Last update before moving to under glass. Tanks are clearcoated (just need to BMF the step and fuel caps) , pogo stick is mounted with white glue (so I can remove it to add air lines and pigtail when I source some wire ) Lights are all installed and added a door logo . Thank you for following and commenting
  10. This is a super project to follow. I really like these old Dodge's , I have only seen a few in real life. On cleaning off the BMF after painting , did you just use a Q-tip with a touch of thinner to clean off the paint ?
  11. Time to blow the dust off this one and get it back the front of the bench .
  12. That is a nice one I like the idea of building #1 or #2
  13. Getting closer, Still need to Clear the fuel tanks as the paint used was flat. I cant find any type of wire to use for the pigtail and air lines , moving sure can make even the simple task difficult.
  14. The chains are super ! I always wondered how those telescoping things (magnets / antennas ) worked . Great idea .
  15. Valve stems Wow that will really make the wheels stand out. I can only echo what the others have said about the bolts and welds , Impressive !
  16. I will include a pic of the interior before the cab gets mounted to the chassis. That steering wheel gave me fits on getting it painted to my liking. Paint - strip - paint x 3
  17. I got a frame and set of resin tanks that would be perfect for it !
  18. Now that is cool ! I dont think I have ever seen a ag sprayer modeled before. Great job on the sprayer details.
  19. That looks much better with the tank closer to the cab and the removal of the Alcoa's ! Nice 5th wheel Plate
  20. Nice job on the DV.III, was the lozenge decals ? Base looks super also. I still have the first 1/72 Biplane I ever built , Soviet WWII IIyuszyn I-153 - old Aurora kit. Back then my eyes were good enough to rig it.
  21. Jesse, I did these "Trucker Mudflaps" just for you.
  22. I never used the Squadron white due to I always have the green. But for filling little areas with precision this is my method. Take a small drop of Squadron putty and place it on a plastic lid - like the old clear ones that came on real metal cans of coffee. Once you have that drop add a drop of laquer thinner to it and stir it with a toothpick to make a creamy paste. Use a small old paintbruss that hasbeen cut off (1/8 " of bristles works best for me) and apply the paste. This is the method I used for years on aircraft seams and small areas.
  23. Thank you Guy's for all the great suggestions. As of now , the Fuel tanks, battery boxes, mirrors, luberfiner (it was correctly mounted fill cap on top) Bumper and stack have all been stripped of the shiny chrome stuff. Jesse - gotta go with dual horns as I am not filling a hole and repainting the cab. I also cut the seats down - I did not like the looks of those highbacks anyhoo. Mark the front hubs will be painted, just giving the paint time to cure. Not so sure about the rings - not as steady as I use to be and twice as blind.
