TEREX OIL FIELD TRAILER
Old Buckaroo replied to Swamp Dog's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
That is spectacular , everything looks just right. What is the total length this setup will take on the shelf ? Your gonna get a big ticket for transporting that excavator with all the mud in the rollers and tracks -
I never had the luxery of working for a mine with "Interstate" access Just two lane mountain highways which still required pilot cars . I wish I still had the pics of the 500 tonners showing up . One semi load was the frame and cab, Next was the engine and trans ,the dump bed was in thirds and each had a truck , then was another hauling the wheels & tires then another with all the electric motors, cooling units ect.

I would go with the duals on the stacks and lubrifiner. Cant help you on the scrolls as I would have to see the sheets for the styles. -
Wow Russel, Thanks for linking your old school stuff ! I have some extra Reo parts I can send you to help you out on your 77'ish project. I really like your C-90-D version also - way cool cab. I have been working on a 90 series cab during my "wait time" to have for a future project. I havent done any filler work yet as my "hardner" went mia after the move.

Very true , but you would rarely see one that had not been rattle canned or repainted by the owner. Nobody liked white engines. -
Peterbilt 359 from AMT kit
Old Buckaroo replied to Roadrunner's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Nice to see this old Pete getting the attention it deserves. Model Master RAF Interior Green (2062) makes a close match to Detroit Green. -
Thanks guys for looking in and commenting, It nice to know there are others who still like "Old School trucks" ! We are back in in business , Thanks Terry for posting the brochures. It took a lot of guesswork out of lengthening the frame. We now have a 180" wheel base. Should not have any problems with a trailer crunching those behind the sleeper stacks now. I need to round up a few parts to keep this one in forward momentum. I am looking for one (1) rear parking brake can (nope did not loose it, the post office mangled this kit beyound recognition) A pair of front Alcoa's (2) and rings (2) from a AMT DD Freightliner if any of you guys swapped them out Thanks for looking

Revell snap Peterbilt
Old Buckaroo replied to Old Buckaroo's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
While working on a few other truck projects this one has made an appearance again. The rattle can Silver and Orange paint never pleased me. Now that I got my booth plumbed in I painted it different. I present to you one of the Ugliest Peterbilts ever. But it grows on you (least it did to me) and looks just right for a work truck. I was going to repaint the frame semi gloss black , the orange does not look half bad. Any suggestions on what color I should paint the wheels ? -
The Peter Plane
Old Buckaroo replied to Superpeterbilt's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Ah geeze, I was not aware this one had taken a tumble. I am happy to see it back in the spotlight again though. Think among the intro of Col. Steve Austin - "Gentlemen, We Can Rebuild It. We have the technology. We have the capability to make the world's first Peter Plane . Man that Oscar Jones has grown since the last pic I saw -

Cat D-10 N 's , Ingersall Track Drill's, Excavators ect ect . Once a 992 loader but that was real hairy as It was "Top Heavy" big time. Wish I had a better pic of it. -
