  1. Bill, you hit the nail right on the head with your post. Makes you miss the old "Cal Custom" parts. Funny how everyone expects top dollar for their sub par work also. No Pride in their work anymore it seems. Only there for the dollar.
  2. I think you should drag that one home, what a great "Father / Son (or Daughter) Project"! Check the oil, dump in some fuel , grab the jumper cable and kick the scorpians out of the tires !
  3. Some real fine looking trucks, the kind I like !
  4. I use the grids on my workmat to keep things square. This picture looks more complicated then it actually is - I shortened this frame with staggered frame rails and was reassembling it.
  5. Get a hold of caine440, Roger is pretty knowledgeable of S&M cars and a great guy.
  6. Way cool ! I always loved the Cartoon"s magazines as a teen. The cars they use to build out of parts for an upcoming race was always interesting. You have nailed the look of the power induced curve on the body, I cant wait to see more.
  7. Well somebody has not been spending enough time at the workbench for this to happen.... Your very lucky, be warned though your life is about to go into fast forward. Be sure to spend as much time with your Wife now doing fun things.
  8. Fantastic project, something I have always wanted to build myself. I like your choice of wheels !
  9. Good luck with them, not sure about the quality but his site has not been updated in ages . Also does not reply to emails.
  10. Bench time seems to be more frequent with the shorter days and cooler weather. What do you have in mind of building ? Me - I have several Big Rig projects to finish up. (1) BJ McKay KW - Finially obtained decals for it. (2) IH 4200 Shorty One thing I want to do though is build a Cummins "assembly line" and build up 6-10 AMT Cummins engines to where all I have to do is drop them in the frame of the next project.
  11. I could put the frame and running gear to use if you have no need for them.
  12. Dont stop there, you just as well get a Revell snapper to rob the 8 bag plus the Cat & trans to replace the Cummins and 5+4 trans.
  13. I removed all the "boiler rivets" off the one I built. And will do so for any future builds. As for the seam , after joining halves I laid a piece of stretched sprue to fill the valley, after using a flat hobby file there was little needed to be puttied.
  14. If your going to torment yourself you just as well take a full dose That pair rates in the top 10 of my favorites though !
  15. Top pic blue cab & hood IH 4200 , the extra cabs can be 4200 or 4300 series. The 4200 hood is even with rear fender, the 4300 hood is longer then fender.
  16. Still making forward progress, mocked it up after some paint. I did not have any "JT Orange" but made due. The cab and hood is metallic silver but does not show in pic. Thanks for looking in
  17. That is a Super Looking snapper. I think the nicest I have ever seen.
  18. Very nice work ! It is nice to see these cars getting a second chance . Now you got me wanting to do the same only I have no little cars. But I am going to be looking for them now
  19. Mark - what kit number would this be ?
  20. A sharp eyed forum member spotted this sealed kit at his LHS, put it on hold and gave me a call to see if I wanted it.
  21. I would have to agree, your attention to detail is beyond description. One of my favorite threads !
  22. Oh Wow, that is really taking shape. That grill really looks good. Nice work all the way around .
  23. Nick the real car never had a 327 with 6 Strombergs, that was just a movie line.
  24. Christain , This is awesome - fantastic work !
  25. Try it out and get back to us. Simple Green seems "watered down " anymore.
