  1. Jim - I dont know about James, but after seeing the two you built I have the hankering to build one. I would like to build one as a single daycab.
  2. That is something else - a very realistic looking truck. If it had a different background I would believe it to be real. I dont even want to be near that 5th wheel plate as that grease would get all over me Excellent Work !
  3. This is a great looking truck your building. Where did you source your rear wheels from ?
  4. Are you rebuilding one ? or just a kit short on parts ?
  5. James, that one was in a "Mack Cruiseliner" kit. Also included was a flyer for "Star Trek" posters.
  6. Your very much welcome. I will try to get a better pic tomorrow when there is better natural light.
  7. Just unpacked the kit that contained this yesterday !
  8. James, there was a Bison kit on eb yesterday with a $25.00 BIN price - just checked on it, someone bid on it for opening bid. (why they didn't pop for the extra $5.00 and seal the deal ) The box was rough but kit looked good. Jim, those are two fantastic looking trucks.
  9. Wow, those look fantastic. Great color combination. Those would look very realistic if not for the tile floor. What is the total length for the both ? If I was to build either of these I hope they turn out as nice as yours.
  10. That is a nice looking cab. You should not have too much trouble mounting it. I have several Aero cabs that I plan on using the 123 chassis for. Seems to me there was no real differences in the frame except the length . But it has been several months since I looked at them . (pre move packing) Other then improving the tilt hinge and relocating the rear cab mount. I plan on using a piece of aluminum or brass tubing between the frame rails with pins for the tilt. Not prototypical but functional.
  11. Those are really cool. I never realized so many cars were featured on matchbooks. Bonus points for the Hobby Shop one ! Several years ago I was in a shop that was cutting a quarter panel off a Ford (cant remember the model) but the guy pulled out a handful of Ford 20th anniversary matchbooks and a coffee cup saying the same. Kind of neat someone left those treasures for the future. Edited as I had the year wrong
  12. Wow Terry, the cab looks fantastic ! Real smooth finish - a ton of OCD sanding huh It paid off.
  13. That sleeper looks great ! Looks like a lot of careful work was needed to cut the doors out. Did you use a jewelers saw ?
  14. Stunning work on the combo, boy do they really stand out ! You need a pair of those gloves coin collectors wear to handle them.
  15. Nice to see another one of your Impressive old builds. Nothing wrong with being stuck in the '80's - paint jobs were way much better then bland graphics.
  16. I have several of those forms in kits I have. Sadly I can not help you at this time as everything is packed up for a move. I will check back in a few weeks to see if one has been posted.
  17. Robert , glad to see the pictures. I am a big fan of Ford Semi's and was really excited to see this . Awesome choice using the Detroit. I have several pics of 1/1 engines. Here is a well used one to give you some reference on breaking up the colors some or adding depth. Let me know by a p/m if you need other views. Fantastic workmanship , keep up the good work.
  18. I like it looks like a real workhorse. Where did you get your Detroit 60 from ? I was just mentioning these trucks to a friend yesterday - then you posted this to fuel the fire more.
  19. A lot of log truck drivers are like Harvest truck drivers - they travel to where the work is.
  20. A real pic of Horsepower and Steampower. Terry your project reminded me of this picture. Locomotive is from the Cumbres & Toltec Narrow Gauge RR and the Trucking Co is Southway Construction
  21. I love those old Brockways, yours looks terrific and I like the load your going to be hauling also. Horsepower & Steampower , nothing better ..
  22. Skip said "I also think that some interior parts and molded-on firewall hoses etc. would look better with a little scoring around the separate parts before painting to "lift" them off of the surface a bit." That is a great tip, why had I never thought of that ? I always eliminated them and used bits of styrened , wood blocks and wire for replicate what was molded on.
  23. My greatest fear on the road use to be Drunk Drivers - now it is Idiots texting.
