The Autocar Dumptruck came with "Pit Fenders" I am a little concerened with your choice of modeling tools shown it the picture. A bigger hammer is not always the answer nor a waffle print

Thanks Mike - I mainly got this kit as I wanted a Cat engine . Clayton I really liked how yours turned out. Brandon - I sawed that plate right off so I could reposition it. It is real easy if you have a good saw. Look at the first pic and you can see the molded in angle bracket that is only half now. The plate has been moved back about an inch, it is just sitting there to cover the void. -

After a void from the bench which consisted of a move this Summer, I needed something I could work on with the resources I have on hand. This looked like a easy simple project... I have never been one to just build out of the box. Here is my progress so far. Shortened the frame down for a single drive Cut the sleeper and used the back half of another sleeper to make the cab back. Removed one exhaust mount and the sleeper mounts. Backdated the headlights from rectangle to concave Also little stuff that will never be seen like styrene sheet on the engine hollow areas.. Pretty simple so far I need more of these kits.. Thanks for looking in -

That is such a well detailed suspension. Is it going to be Ace Red ? Good call on the positioning ! -
Restoring/customizing a Hot Wheels for the fun of it

This is way cool ! It will be nice for that car to be restored to its glory. The Jet Threat was always one of my favorites many years ago. -
Billings - cripes that is in my territory Awesome to see those kits are going to get a second chance and grace the display shelves. Good for you !

Man that thing rocks in that scheme. I see you upgraded the brakes to slow that Beast down..

Wow, another great project to follow and learn from. I can never get tired of seeing these older trucks ! -
That paint looks real smooooth ! Is it black or a charcoal ? Those stripes would be nice. If it was me I would opt on painting and use some decals.

I have used their products a lot (building aircraft) some colors recommend a acrylic base - some an enamel. I go with whichever they recommended as I figure they have tested this stuff to see which produces the best result. After all what is having on hand an extra bottle of paint and thinner going to hurt ? The thing to using Alclad is spraying a thin mist , the lighter you spray the better the results. Start with a coat that the only way you can tell is the object being painted looks wet with no color from the Alclad. Let it dry and hit it again the same and keep repeating . This is not a quick process but will result in the best finish..
